I am not sure whether anyone is following this - Ranji Trophy (domestic 4-day competition) is ongoing in India. The player who caught my attention is 20-year old Pheiroijam Jotin Singh, who just made 166 against Arunachal Pradesh. Without a doubt, he has been the best performer in Plate League of Ranji Trophy for many years now. But since he represents Manipur, there is near zero chance of him getting selected for the national squad.

^^ didn't hear much about plate group because of less hype and exposure but in elite group one seamer got decent hype, not with bowling but his batting ( India need specialist seamer, who could bat in test).

Against saurashtra, Manvanth Kumar from Karnataka batting at number 9 and bailed out his team with a ton, at one point they were struggling at 194/8 and then this guy took his team to 340.

Who cares about Ranji Trophy SAAAAAAR  Even the BCCI does not. They hardly look out for talent from Ranji now. They are more focused on IPL discoveries. To some extent, franchise scouts are still trying to find guys from domestic cricket, but most of the time they hunt it from local cricket academies run by ex cricketers. SA got very good start from three of their top order batters. Yeah, it was indeed a brave decision by the team selectors of Australia. It is clear that the team selectors wanted to have a perfect spin bowler by predicting how the pitch could behave. Nathan Lyon has taken two important wickets in the first innings, but Mitchell Starc has played the key role in destroying South African batting line-up. SA had made a great start today, I was thinking that they would score above 500 runs in the first innings.

SA is slightly favourite now to win the match. They have to do well with bowling in the first innings to have some advantages.
