The first ODI was dominated by brilliant knock of WI captain Hayley Matthews. Pakistani bowlers struggled to get wicket of Hayley Matthews whole 50 overs but in vain as she moved out of the ground after scoring 140 runs (not out). It was because of Hayley Matthews 140 runs that WI were able to score 269 runs. In reply, Pakistan batting was disappointing and it's Hayley Matthews once again who picked 3 wickets.

He is about to turn 37 this month and by the time of next world cup he will be 40 years old. I am not sure whether the BCCI will be very happy with Rohit playing in ODI format despite his age.

Here maybe controversy for you but still its depend on him and his fitness because in next few months he can take retirement from the test format and then go for the only white-ball format which is better for him with he just needs to be well-prepared for this all and having fitness until 2027 is also important.
BCCI like or not like it's not important but if one player is giving his best, and also he is working on his fitness they need to give him honor and also respect his this dare statement because he is still one of the best opener for them with having too many records and still doing good job is also important despite having any youngster who is not able to provide things better than him.

He can say anything he wants but everything depends on the selectors and selection should be on merits. If he's fit enough to do yard hards with good form and compete for the slot with young players despite turning 40 then he has every right.

I agree as Indian cricket is touching new highs with their huge success in IPL and having good things adopted which are increasing their quality and consistency it's time for players as well they follow footsteps of English and Australian players while they feel they are going down they announce their time for retirement which helps selectors and also help youths to done hard work for filling their spot but here we have no sportsmanship just because of their big brands which are giving them huge funds and their lifestyle is completely luxurious due to them.

As long as money is involved, no one wants to retire from international cricket. Take the example of Suresh Raina. Once he retired from international cricket, his franchise also disowned him and his career ended all of a sudden.
