What's funny about it?  It's like in soccer if the US beats a germany team, when germany puts out its players that are fringe club players.  International basketball will never be a comparable game.  The only time the US really put out it's best team was in 92.  This team checked out after the loss to france.

Side note, love jokics game.  Watching him and jamal murray play for the next couple of years is gonna be a fun watch.  Not many players in the world on jokic's level

They are just like the Philippines that have a short period of preparation, not they take the toll of not having enough time to jell and have chemistry with heir teammates.

if France is able to win from Argentina (one of the favorite teams) in the semifinals it is certain that they are the champions.

Of the four teams, Argentina is the very east to take the FIBA championship trophy. France is no doubt the leading favorite as they have 2 time NBA best defender Rudy Gobert. Spain is close second with their Ricky Rubio and Marc Gasol.

In general, this match was meaningless, but it's obvious that Serbia had more motivation today. Ok, maybe USA didn't had their best squad, but every loss of this team will be remembered even after 10-20 years - it's history.

More opinions on tomorrows matches? I am going with the outsiders for sure - which are (in my opinion) not real outsiders. Australia can definitely make it and same goes for Argentina. Odds for both are great and definitely worth a shot.

In the past America sent real ''dream teams'', not Team C or D like this year
Thanks to these defeats America will take competition much more seriously and send the right dream team for the Olympics next year.
We will watch the best basketball players again at the Olympics, and that is good for basketball and all of us.

Time was not the only factor.  Guys like brook Lopez and Mason Plumlee were on this team.  These guys dont belong on the team.  Myles Turner getting big minutes?  These are the reasons they lost, they just threw a bunch of guys out there that were willing to play.  Coach K leaving had a big impact on what players would play for the US and not play, K stepping down was a big part of this fiba nonsense

I know right. After the lost that made them lost the FIBA cup for medal, they lost their position for 4-6 rank. They shouldn't set their mind on their upset in my opinion after losing the medal. I mean they strive yes but in the first quarter, a 25 point lead? Well congrats anyway to Serbia that game.

Do you think it's a Pop curse? I mean, Pop is a good coach in the NBA but, in the world cup he's junk just by looking at the history of his coaching in worlds. 2002 6th place

This match Serbia USA should be final but both teams lost in QF match. Again this USA team was probably the worst so far. Think if they win or lose it would be worst place on WC for them ever. Shame, only good thing is that they are OG in Tokyo next year, while Serbia need to go qualifying round. Shame for them too as well in one point they had huge point advantage that I turn on to different channel.

France will have their best chance. On Argentina, Luis Scola is aged his age is 39 now I think but even so he is still a great player. He carried the team to victory against Serbia. On that game that's the least expected outcome I'm expecting. With Rudy Gobert plus Nando, the best pointguard in France plus Batum. They could have their chance.

On Australia and Spain, I think it's Australia's chance to defeat Spain. They are stacked team. Let's talk about the scrimmage that happened in Marvel Stadium. Australia defeated USA and USA defeated Spain. So the better odds could be on Australia this time.

It is so sad for Greg Popovich.
He is a really great coach and he absolutely doesn't deserve a position outside the top 3.
USA was inadequate in this tournament to compete for the Gold medal...

My prediction for semi-final matches is victory of Argentina and Australia. 
I watched both Argentina vs Serbia and United States vs France. However France did a great job and defeated the defending champions, United States, I expect they lose to Argentina.
Argentina has won all the previous matches by at least 10 points and I think they will remain undefeated and will qualify for the Final.
Also, Australia will overcome Spain. Spain performance has not been as good as I expected. They had some difficult wins even in the first group stage. Australia will win Spain and will face Argentina at the final.

I have both teams opposing them to be winning the semi-final round. Argentina might be leading by 10 points against all of their matches but it doesn't prove anything that France whom just defeated the USA team can be defeated by them also. They are a talented team but their only former NBA talent right now is Luis Scola who will be matched against Rudy Gobert which I don't think he will score easily over him. Australia although having more NBA players in the team cannot top the star players of Spain in the Euroleague have so I am leaning towards them winning this round.

Should serve lesson now to Team USA not to take the World Cup lightly. I don't know though if losing to World Cup will have an effect on the "business-minded" superstars of the NBA that should be on their roster and if they will decide now to participate next World Cup.

Knowing the USA, they feel always comfortable that whoever on the Team USA roster is dominant although yes, the current roster can be considered good but no doubt majority are youngsters that just starting playing in the NBA for few seasons. I even thought that their youngsters will have a great debut. No worries for them as in the next World Cup, I know these youngsters from Team USA will be more improved. Hope I can see this lineup again next cup starting from qualifiers because I doubt their "business-minded" superstars will still play as they are aging or not really interested at all because they protect their NBA career.

I hope France will keep it close, I hate seeing USA pulling away and will dominate them in  the 4th.

Right now, team USA is starting to pull away in this fourth quarter. France on the other hand gives a decent match against USA so it would give a scare to them if they don't play their a-game.

The bad call against the France stopped their momentum now. .USA is still in the lead now, but it's still manageable since it's just a single digit lead.
I have a feeling this will be a close fight and France winning the game, hehehe...

Congratulations to France for beating USA they deserve it for showing great courage, this is one of the weakest team the USA has sent I don't expect too much from this team I think France will win this Championship.

Honestly, I like NBA basketball but since they are not sending some of their top players I have no time to watch their game, I have seen a lot of Youtube video reviews about this team and they are not really that good.

Honestly, I was surprised with the France winning the quarter-final game against the USA but I don't know why the USA performance is not the same in the classification match ever since their loss to France and I'm sure the yesterday game won by France will make them gain more rank up on the world ranking list.
