I know some people that do arbitrage with sports betting that have been relatively successful (can be almost risk-free if done correctly), though many bookies don't like arbitrage and can and will shut down your account if they detect you're doing arbitrage. I think poker will be a bigger number of people who can make money from the competition, especially in the offline poker which every player meet in one table. But we don't know where the competition has started, and maybe we only heard it in the newspaper or on the television about the winner. Or there is a local competition in some country which gambling has to allow so the player can visit the gambling place and play together.

Sports betting can be the other game with a lot of professional gamblers who use it as the main source of income. Not surprising at all because poker and sports betting required skills so it is good to be used as a source of income unlike the other games which are purely based on luck. Although it is not fully recommended to use gambling to make a living but as long as people are aware about the risk and able to manage their money wisely then it is OK.

Yes people are using it and getting their life earning from gambling there is no doubt gambling is best way to make money along with enjoyment. I use to gamble in my free time  and i do my job as well. For gambling I use only few hours at night other wise I try to sleep gamble along with my job I can't totally rely on  Gambling.

Exactly bro. I think it all depends on our definition of professional gambling. I could refer to myself as a professional gambler because in the time past, I have been able to successfully handle loses, manage wins and also control my emotions not to feel terrible when there is a great loss. Being a professional player does not mean we do not make loses but we have the ability to handle it. This is the reason you will notice a player who that can buy a car from the profits he gets from gambling and another player that has not been able to buy a pen.

I also believe nobody did a course to qualify as a professional player, it all depends on individuals. There is no harm in gambling professionally and also I don’t think gambling as a career is the same as professional gambling.

just like on esports gaming   . gamers there are professional , they are being sponsored and payed  to play games  so i believe that pro gambling works the same way   .  they are not using thier own money to play a gambling but they are being adopted by someone  , once these pro gamblers won big on tournaments , thier coach and adopters can also get thier share   . there are tons of way to live for a normal people but thes pros are earning alot by doin the things they love.

There's no way to win in every games they've played, discipline is what they use to make sure to be positive and not to allow certain bust to happen while they are playing, you need to have a good sets of plans and most of those we called professionals knows their limitations and knows how to deal with bad days, they can simply quit if they not getting any good luck while playing.

I disagree, I believe there are people who really are making a living in gambling, however there's only few of them as most of us are losers by the way, just like me, I already loss big in gambling because at one point in my life I tried to aim to be successful to make a living in gambling and that was a costly experience. We like to consider gambling as a profession but let's just leave that to those who has the real talent.

But that can be too risky if they depend on gambling to search the income. They don't know when they can win and lose, and it is hard to get the most time of winning, especially if they don't have much luck. Even for the professional gamblers, they still difficult to make money from gambling because that will need big luck to get the win. But it is better if that person only uses gambling as a way to have fun and enjoy the game because they don't have to risk all of their money to earn money.

I like this guys profile, you say not ordinary but the advantage he perceived seems a possible observation by just anyone who paid attention every game and looked for a profit vs the odds.    Nice to know such a thing is possible and give me hope of spotting such an advantage myself at some point in my life -

Lots of people are 'good' at reading people, this is a normal skill people hone their whole lives outside of gambling.   Maybe alot of people are deceived easily but when we take populations of millions there is no doubt many 'ordinary' folk who have become very adept at reading and so could do well in poker or similar games vs others.
