We have left a really interesting and astonishing El Clasico behind. And it was just hell of a game between these strongest teams of the league now. But the problem was that there was no competition between them. Barcelona started to take control of the game after a point and left Real Madrid helpless and desperate there. Every position does make a difference in La Liga however, because 25% of the La Liga prize money every season is distributed according to the average position of your team for the past 5 years. So 1 position more is really important as it counts for the average for the next 5 years.

I couldn't find the exact numbers but it seems this is several million difference per position. Enough to pay one youngster contract for a year, with all our issues we can do with this money

Plus, apart from last season Barca never finished outside top 2. I would like to see us return to that stat.
