I think Atletico Madrid have chance finish in this season above than Barcelona on standing position if success winning on several match left. Looks left match schedule Atletico Madrid have potential to get full points and possibility finish with 3rd position standing under Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Atletico still has a schedule to play against Real Madrid on matchday 35 and another tight match against Sevilla on matchday 37. While Barcelona only has 1 tight match against Sevilla next week. If Barcelona can win against Sevilla next week, Barcelona only has some remaining matches against weak teams. In theory, Barcelona probably gets full points in those remaining matches. No other team looks like can challenge Barcelona to share points, especially with its current great performance of Barcelona. On the contrary, Atletico Madrid still has some matches against strong teams that possibly lose points. So, the chance for Barcelona to finish above Atletico Madrid is bigger.

We have Real's game first. If Real lose points this game will be more interesting as both teams will be really close to Real.
Barcelona is favorite at home and you can see that from odds. Bookmakers are not generous for Barca win. You'd expect better odds for such a though match but they show Barca clear favorite. I do wonder if Barca play similar to El Clasico against Sevilla too. If this international break didn't affect them much and we see similar performance then I don't see much chance for Sevilla.

The current games of Sevilla were not good enough, they played underperformance, could only get drawn so far. And I am sure that when against Barcelona, they will struggle their best to at least repair every mistake that they have made previously. Their confidence may be higher for this match and they maybe make certain different offenses.
But, we also exactly know that Barcelona is now in high performance and they have enough high efforts and reasons to win, to take over the position of Sevillain the second place.
It will be not easy for Barcelona to defeat Sevilla, but as long as their main players are in the first lineup and they make more cosnistent like currently, I think that Barcelona will win the match. But oncemore, this is football, soemthing surprising may happen.

They have only 3 points less than Sevilla but have one more match. If they win it, they will have the same total point as Sevilla have. You are right. Current players in current squad have lower quality than the one Pep had years ago. The same for Real Madrid with their current squad now. However, the interesting fact is because both of them have decreasing quality, they are still be parts of a competitive race in La Liga.

The next season will give us a clearer overview on what Xavi and Barcelona can actually do. They will begin it with fresh mind and higher ambition. If they end this season in the second position, they will surely aim at championship next season.

Benzema is their main source of goals and operation of their attacking system but I believe they will manage to win about 5 or 6 matches to complete the season at top. Other players can help them win perhaps with minimal difference just enough to win.
