Yes this win was of gigantic importance to Barcelona. If I was a Real Madrid player, I would slowly lose confidence by now. I would not write off Real in advance, but it's not the 8 points gap, but the kind of game Barcelona shows should be feared. When you say that Real Madrid needed fresh players, especially on the defense and up forward, I completely agree with you. It's obvious that Ancelotti would be disappointed by the lack of reinforcements during the winter transfer market. Seeing a powerhouse like Real Madrid falter is extremely disheartening.

But I still think it's early in the season, so Real has time to turn things around.
