That's a good point, few expected that Atletico Madrid could be so prepared for the match against Real. In the beginning they brought down the attacking tempo of Real and in general by the second half the speed was already necessary for Atletico, Griezmann played well and then a sudden red card. Correa was not so rude, to show a red card for that is very strange, and you have to take into account that the match is important and you do not need refereeing mistakes. After the suspension there was another game, where Real dominated and could win, but Griezmann still managed to realize his potential at the end of the meeting and gave a goal pass. The least I expect from Real Madrid is to draw right now since they need the points more than ever, I was scared for Real Madrid because how can they be so easy to score by an opponent that was playing 11 against 10, Atletico may be in good form but not so super experience to beat Real Madrid so easily with a red card. It was a wise decision when Ancelotti substitute Carvajal with Vazquez who help them out in the dying minute with an equalized goal, they would have lost this match again making it a difficult and unachievable dream to overtake Barcelona.

But it's not impossible, Almeria could have stopped Barcelona by holding it to draw and helped Real Madrid stay 8 points clear, but that's just the hope that Real Madrid and its fans have. I never thought that Atletico Madrid would perform so well against Real Madrid. I thought Real Madrid would beat Atletico Madrid in a big way. But the performance of Atletico Madrid with 10 players is truly commendable.

Mean while it is very unrealistic to expect Barcelona to lose and miss their good chance to win the title, I admit they have been better this season and they will do their best to keep their lead.
