Atletico need to secure their position in third place from the pursuit of Real Sociedad, entering week 24 the two teams are only one point apart. Yes this wasn't some breakthrough game and we will now get to see the old Atletico Madrid. Now I have to mention that they did improve recently when it comes to their defense performances. That was and has always been the backbone of their successful game style. They are still conceding goals, but less than a few months ago. As you may remember, their game was 100% based on not conceding a goal, waiting for that one chance, take the 1-0 lead and win the game. It was crazy.

When you check the tables of seasons of the past and look at the goal differences of La Liga winners, Atletico Madrid is the one team that was able to compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid just because they conceded hardly any goals.
