The hope of a trophy is gone. This is also surprising, but Atletico might be able to make new history. They qualified for the UCL Semifinals, and that could be another hope to get a trophy this season. But indeed, semifinals and finals are always difficult, and there will be many surprises. Diego Simeone is a manager with great ambition, but perhaps he is not the one destined to win many titles with Atletico Madrid. He's been good for Atletico Madrid, but I don't think they'll win the title this season regardless of how they get to the semi-finals this season.

Everyone knows that getting to the final is no easy task, especially when Atletico Madrid has to face Arsenal. This season Arsenal also performed well in the Champions League, they are strong in all aspects, so to advance to the final I think Atletico Madrid will have to work harder than what they did when they thwarted Barcelona.

If I were to be Atletico Madrid or Diego Simeone right now.. all my strategy would be for them to focus fully on the champions league, rest players for every league match and attack the champions league games as though their lives depended on it. Everything they have now should be thrown at the champions league and even their opponent Arsenal is not looking as formidable as they were at the beginning of the season.
So Atletico Madrid should utilise this opportunity, don’t underrate Arsenal but give them hell.

P/S: Simeone would have to stop substituting Ademola Lookman in crucial games unless he’s underperforming.

I have never argued that the red card was unfair. In fact it was justified because in the match where it was given in the first halftime, the defender was the last player to stop him from taking a big chance to score a goal and that by definition is a red card. The referee has no choice but to give that red card. That is why everybody was lost for words when at first he gave yellow and then VAR came into play and he corrected it. It was the right decision to send that player off.

My point was that this foul changed the trajectory because on top of that they scored an insane free kick goal. A red card that is not a penalty but ends in a goal regardless, all of that in the first halftime, it changes any match no matter who the teams involved are.

If we talked about the Red Card then definitely it's was unfair.... You will how...? Let me explain.... If we look at challenge of red card then we will see that the ball is not in close range with A. Sørloth and Erica Garcia is there to chase him up, and if you monitor it more Erica Garcia has not made any strong contact with him such pulling his shirt etc but A. Sørloth pretends to be an abuser and dives on the ground. So now the referee should need to take a put little soft hand on it like it's a big stage, and take such bad act can cause a serious trouble for any team.

Thus far in previous match the Cubarsi red card was also hit strick like Cubarsi made minor contact with G. Semion and even the ball wasn't in his feet or in his control but unfortunately the referee showed a red card instead of yellow. If G. Semion has control the ball in his feet then it was fair otherwise it is unfair call.

If I were to be Atletico Madrid or Diego Simeone right now.. all my strategy would be for them to focus fully on the champions league, rest players for every league match and attack the champions league games as though their lives depended on it. I agree with you, because it is true that at this time it is a very good decision that can be done by Atletico Madrid. Because currently in La Liga Atletico no longer have a big hope to be able to become champions, and besides that in other domestic competitions Atletico have also failed. So currently the only competition left that can be fought with all their might is the Champions League. So that's why I also agree that for example Atletico Madrid is better to just focus on the Champions League,, because only in that competition they still have the potential to be champions and get a trophy.

At this point, I wouldn't be wrong if I pin all the blame on Diego Someone because he is just too defensive minded, instead of attacking even more against an average or smaller teams that everyone expected them to win. Just imagine their game against real sociedad in the Copa del rey finals, when they were chasing the game, his changes on the night cost them heavily because they are losing and they need goals, but Diego Someone decided to take off ademola lookman who is one of their key attacking threat, because aside Alvarez, none of their player is as effective attacking wise than ademola lookman, but he was sub off for someone that possesses less threat, so Diego Someone is the one holding this team back from their full potential.

Atletico Madrid was the favorite to win this match and any one who you will ask that is what they will tell you Atletico Madrid because of their performance both champions league and La Liga Atletico have been doing incredible, so I was so surprised seeing Atletico Madrid lose to Real Sociedad it was a very surprising result.

There is something Atletico Madrid isn't doing and it piss me off too. If you are not sure of what is going to happened in the end and as a team you don't have confidence, then do it like you are playing against a team that will break you down. This was what I expected from Atletico Madrid against Real Sociedad but that's the problem most of this big guys have, the think they are the one when in reality they are just fortunate to be there before others.

If a team could remove Barcelona from the Champions League, there shouldn't be any reason to be removed in a wonderful setting of Copa del ray, that's like giving poor version of your performance to a domestic league when you could do better. It's not even a domestic league, it's an independent league that could have been an opportunity for him to stay more with the team but I guess he has to leave after the end of the season, there is no way he is going to win the Champions League.

I'm also surprised that Atletico didn't win the game because they have the quality than Real Sociedad. However, I will put the blame on fatigue or tiredness after a tidious week in the Champions League match against Barcelona. Atletico Madrid underestimated their opponents which was why the game didn't favor them. Football is full of surprises.

it's an excellent decision that Atletico Madrid can make up to a certain point, they should waste fewer opportunities, what i saw is a scared team that lost a match that should have been easy to win, but instead they didn't succeed, this is what i saw, so they'd better think about next year, now it's gone.

I think the situation is starting to slip a bit out of Arsenal’s control. They had a big advantage in the Premier League, but in the last few rounds they’ve lost it, and if City win their game in hand, they’ll be level on points. That makes Arsenal’s position in the league much more uncertain.

As for the Champions League, it will be extremely difficult for them to win it. Still, I think Arteta might now shift the main focus toward the Champions League. Arsenal are capable of beating Atletico, but at the same time Atletico are also a strong side this season, as always very solid defensively, and their attack is much better than before. So it feels like both Atletico and Arsenal could end up finishing the season without any trophies.

Atletico Madrid failed in what was the easiest thing in the championship, one of the objectives of the season that could and should have been achieved without a doubt, but they didn't succeed, they still have a competition that is far more difficult than the Copa del Rey which is the Champions League but which i see as very difficult to win

Football can never stop proving us wrong because I concluded the same thing about Atletico Madrid but it all turn against them. To be honest this unpredictable of football can be quite tough for gamblers sometimes because Atletico Madrid did very well in the champions league and there was a lot of hope on them to continue the same thing but they ended up losing to Real Soeciedad just like that after what they played with Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid could not perform as well as expected. They were 2-1 behind in the first half. They could not score more than one goal in the second half. Atletico Madrid lost due to the irregular performance of the attack.

Atletico Madrid is one of the most useless team in football, they have never won the Champions League title before, they are on the same category as Arsenal, they never consider winning a trophy, all they can do is to finish a season trophiless. If I’m not mistaken, since last five years, Arsenal and Atletico have not win a single trophy again for their club, and the both teams wasted an opportunity to win a leage cup this season, the match is going to be boring to watch.

Diego Simeone did the same substitute on Ademola Lookman on Barcelona match, he always does the same thing even when Ademola Lookman shouldn't be substituted yet because of no complaints from his position, so actually the way the final was not getting to Atletico Madrid Diego Simeone should have giving him the full-time as Julian Alvarez because he doesn't no if Ademola Lookman could have gotten another goal during the period Julian Alvarez scored the second goal, this should taught Diego Simeone something against there future because since he came for the Copa del Rey trophy it doesn't matter if he didn't substitute as before because the key importance is using who is capable to get the Copa del Rey.

You're right, Atletico Madrid are very difficult to rely on against teams below them in quality, but when faced with big teams like Barcelona or Real Madrid, Simeone and his squad automatically become more confident. The problem is when the match goes to a penalty shootout, the odds become 50:50, depending on the penalty taker and the goalkeeper. If it's Jan Oblak there might still be hope for victory.
