I'm just wondering, on what sport does have much popularity when it comes to betting. For I have seen even the last pages of this section has sports gambling topics that was killed long time ago and only few remains and actively running. So, I came to observe on which sport do they like the most, or perhaps which sports does have a most number of supporters here and their reason why they love it the most?
Besides, no one can even predict what will be the outcome, it sure is a Lucky guess (I think).

P.S. I have never been into sports betting, because for I'm not enjoying the thing,... I'd rather play dice than just watching them play for my money. But for me I just prefer Basketball(NBA).

First of all, I only watch sports and not betting on sports. I think soccer will have big fans or supporters in around the world because we can see people like to watch a soccer match, especially younger people. In one time of world cup, I see that there are so many girls that have been watched the match at the cafe with their friends and they enjoy to watch. As I had noticed it depends on which country you are, just like basketball and boxing which are very well known in the country of the Philippines and in the US. So, I guess these sports might be triggered to them to join in sport betting those who passionate to watch the sport and bet as well. In some places like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka they like also cricket and football game. This is an interesting topic that I have never thought of until now. It's amazing on how many people would support something that they love. I did a little research just like the other people above me and found out that Football is still the top. I would think that football games are more exposed compared to other sports like boxing. Maybe that's why there are more people supporting it.

P.S. If I could add, maybe another thread would focus on what event are you most likely to bet on. Like the FIFA World Cup or the Super Bowl. Something similar like that. They are on this top list with the most popular betting events [1]. This was updated on February 2019, so it is quite recent.

Some European & South American fellows might feel offended with calling football as soccer. if I am not mistaken, it's only in the US where they really call it soccer because they have their american football.

In terms of sports gambling, I think soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Other sports, such as basketball, tennis, etc are only popular in certain regions and groups. Soccer is so popular because there are many regular events being held world wide and has been going on for a long time.

Football/Soccer is the biggest sport by far on sportsbooks because as the others have said there's so many leagues from different countries. If we're talking about the whole world, this would certainly be boxing, although events on that sport rarely happens so viewership alone does not help in the statistics of the match since they are a rare feat (and most of the time, only the main event is being watched.) But in terms of gambling supporters, this certainly would be football/soccer knowing that there are loads of events to choose from and most teams are considered/deemed as superteams even if they lose to the weakest club in the game. That is usually the case in PH because we are more of basketball enthusiast here. Football is not that hype as we all know that these sports can't just be played at the backyards or streets. Even with the popularity of Azkals PH in Asian tournament, it didn't really give much of a boost in terms of football popularity in PH.

Very interesting data. I suspected(and said in my previous post) that Cricket, because of its extreme popularity, should have been added to the list. Maybe in the Philippines, it is basketball but for the rest of the world, it is soccer. You will be surprised to know that there's not really a lot of Pinoys here in this forum. There's a thread about how many are Pinoys in our local section and they we're asked to post using their main account and only less than a hundred posted their main account, meaning we cant say there's a lot of us here because of the back and fort conversation, who knows if they are just talking to themselves.

In Australia, there's a lot of followers there for Soccer. Based on the country I live in, you said it right! We just love basketball here. And we love boxing even more! Especially when it is Manny Pacquiao's fight, you can expect that the whole country is tuned-in to their televisions. The roads are free from traffic and maybe even the bandits are watching the fight, right? Because as far as I remember, with Pacman's recent fight against Thurman, there were no crimes reported.

That's some surprising research. I expected Basketball and Baseball having fanbase or supporter base at least higher than that of Volleyball and Table Tennis.

As I had noticed it depends on which country you are, just like basketball and boxing which are very well known in the country of the Philippines and in the US. So, I guess these sports might be triggered to them to join in sport betting those who passionate to watch the sport and bet as well. There are some games that are not common in some parts of the world because it is not practiced. I didn’t expect sport racing to be on the list anyway, so I really don’t understand what is weird about the compilation since soccer is leading on the list which is absolutely right. It took someone time and effort to make a post and I think that should be appreciated, if you feel there’s something not right then make yours and let’s hear your own opinion.

But seriously, football/soccer is fun to watch. You just have to understand the rules just like any other sports. You do not see a lot of scoring but the intensity of the game is high most of the time. If my memory serves me right, the highest number of goals I've watched in a single match is 10 (Man United 8 - Arsenal 2).

For me, the sports that have many gambling supporters is soccer or football because it's the most popular sports game in the world. But its depend on the country which you are in. In my country the famous sports are basketball, and most of the people know how the play basketball it's like common sports that you should know. Also, I often bet on basketball other than tennis, boxing, and soccer. But when it comes in the Super Bowl, I usually bet.

I am not sure about cricket being that popular. I know it is being played in countries like England and their former colonies but I'm still a bit surprised that it's being discussed more than baseball (at least in this forum).

Soccer or football has the most fans around the world and that makes it the most popular sport for gamblers. With approximately 4 billion fans around the world, assuming half of them placed a bet with every game, thats still a huge number of gambling supporters of the specific sport. I'm not a fan of football, but everybody notices how their fans loudly celebrate during the world cup.
I only know the game of basketball which I usually place my bet on, may it be fiat or crypto.

I personally like to bet on soccer matches too since there are so many options available then any other sport.
I like to bet on corners other than goals or a straight main line bet.
People do like to wager on the amount of fouls which are committed and if a team will receive a red card or not allowing the other to have a one man advantage for the duration of the rest of the game.
Another wager is if a team will have a clean sheet or not meaning if they will be scored on.
These bets are too difficult to predict so I have not used these options before for my bets. But I prefer to bet on soccer then any other sport for these reasons.
