The only way this can end peacefully is for the Ukrainian factions agrees which parts are Ukraine and which Russian. Anything else will surely turn into a blood bath of some scale. The best thing UK/EU and USA can do is monitor and try to prevent atrocities through diplomatic mediation. But the Great Game is on again so anything can happen.
