Is it possible that we see another altcoin season, if Bitcoin breaches the all-time high and go above 20k? Do you find a direct correlation?
Definitely. New and new people will go jump into crypto again if they see BTC in 20k again or above. And they will start buy cheap alts. But at first we must see 20k... Hope this happens after BTC halving

Hope this happens after BTC halving I believe in much higher price then 20k, Bitcoin in next few years will have another great year. I positive about some alt-coins, not all of them will follow Bitcoin rise, but some of them will. For me new season is just a matter of time, two hard years are behind us, we need to be patient just a little bit more. I'm buying cheap alt-coins, I think some of them are at the bottom, maybe they can drop a bit more, but this is it. For some alt-coins is buy now at the bottom, or wait price to rise and buy then.

Most likely because alts are dependent on Bitcoin, if Bitcoin grows to $20,000, you should definitely wait for the alts season.

Yes, because the fence sitting observers will begin to feel safe about entering into cryptocurrencies. And it is a good reason to do so since now the projection is that most coins will begin a new bull trend that hopefully lasts more the last bear market.

Hope this happens after BTC halving Bitcoin halving may not really meet the high price expectations people set for it simply because of the reason that market expansion is direly needed to achieve that. If the market remains as compact it is currently, then the margin may not be too high.

My opinion is that Altcoins will explode soon before Bitcoin reaches 20k. I have filled my altcoin bag now as they are really cheap, patiently waiting for 2020 to begin

Altcoin season will happen but if this situation waits for bitcoin to reach the highest price in history I think it takes time, hoping altcoin season happens without having to wait for bitcoin to rise.

Hardly alts will grow by themselves, alts are very dependent on Bitcoin, so, alts season will not be without Bitcoin growth.

yes it is, if Bitcoin dominance can't decrease, altseason can't happen too so we still have to wait the Bitcoin dominance decreasing so much to see big altseason That's what the market tells us in last altseason.

I am getting worried because a lot of people are expecting the halving is going to solve all the problems that bitcoin has to maintain its price, and that to me seems to be a big mistake, because I cannot stop thinking about the consequences that will come to the market if that doesn't happen, what will happen if the price does not increase after the halving? And I keep thinking that people are going to be so disappointed that many are going to get out of the market and that could create another crash.
I'm worried as well. The Litecoin halving in August showed a surge prior to halving (thanks to speculators anticipating a halving effect) and then the price collapsed. I'm not sure at all that any rise in the bitcoin price will be sustained. And I'm not sure alts will surge either (last time people thought they were investing in the "next bitcoin" but by now they've wised up).

Hardly alts will grow by themselves, alts are very dependent on Bitcoin, so, alts season will not be without Bitcoin growth. Unfortunately, that is actually true. Most of the alts follow the progress path of bitcoin. Only those that have really solid applications in the market tend to increase on its own. But as for me, everything is possible for alts. They are always significant in the growth of adoption of cryptocurrencies.

That's because people don't trust altcoins for long term, after the hype, the smart money are transferring their money to bitcoin which is the strongest in the market. Buy the rumors sell the news, that's the strategy that is effective in times like this. I'm not sure at all that any rise in the bitcoin price will be sustained. And I'm not sure alts will surge either (last time people thought they were investing in the "next bitcoin" but by now they've wised up).
The only way altcoins wills surge is when bitcoin will be close to its ATH or surpass it, the hype will start and then it will continue like the last bull run. By next year, there's a bitcoin halving, probably that would help to increase the price of bitcoin and altcoins will follow. Though it's not guaranteed but we are always hopeful with that big change.

Alts will clearly grow if Bitcoin reaches $20,000, but do not expect the same growth as in 2017, if there is growth, it is not as strong.

Definitely it will happen. Because an obvious continuing uptrend since 2011 is the poster child of a mega rally which are probably in the end of the first half because in some quarters, cryptocurrencies are still niche ideas and technology.

If anything happens exact value what we are expecting means we can give some feedback or suggestion about it but this thread is old and not speaking about the current situation of the marketplace. So so if you want to invest on any decentralized cryptocurrency, they will go to BTC and some more top alts.

I don't think the growth will be that great on the majority of alts. But, some of the bigger ones will end up rallying pretty hard. The problem is there's just too many coins and projects out there for people to invest in. Most of them will be worth absolutely nothing in the long run. The coins in the top 20 or so in market cap will probably be fine in the long run and even rally along with Bitcoin during the next 2017 type run.

that's true but it's not always become the answer as the altcoin can even get nothing from the season. We don't know when that will be happening and we are only betting on something that there is no clue about when that will actually come to pump the altcoin. We have seen altcoins are loosing the value.

We have seen altcoins are loosing the value. had increased slightly when the fast pump of bitcoin occurred but it did not last long before the dominance of trade was controlled by bitcoin and made altcoin worse. the incident made everyone sell altcoin for bitcoin. but when the pump occurs again with the balance of trade maintained in the market. I think Altcoin still has a chance to grow with the Bitcoin pump.

What I have been saying all season long to everyone who ever asks me to think. Just remember the last ATH. When Bitcoin broke $1.4k, that is when alts started rising,,, this is when dominance for BTC decreased slowly, and people even talked about ETH flippening haha. Now if BTC breaks 20k,,, this will be when alts are again going to rise. Not all of them and not like before, but some of them and as big as before.

The chance for altcoin go grow gets drowned by bitcoin expect good altcoin like credits.
