When I see people at the age 40+ or 45+ fighting, I just wish that they finish the fight without injury and peacefully retire. When I see people in age fight, British boxer Danny Williams comes always to my mind. Until 2005 he was among top. Managed to beat Mike Tyson, other great names. But when he became old (40+), he started to fight anyone just for the cheque. Check out his record starting from 2010. People wanted to fight against him, because he has beaten Tyson. But Danny just enters the ring, shows some punches and plays theatrical knockout (or gets KO for real, because his opponents were always younger), get cheque and goes home. Top boxer turned into clown. The guy just dont know when to stop.

Tim Johnson has a big weight and reach advantage for main event against Fedor Emelianenko and he is 9 years younger, but they are fighting in Moscow.
Odds dropped a lot on Johnson to win, and Fedor must try to KO him in first few rounds if he wants to win.

Well, Fedor did it quickly.



At 45 Fedor is close to calling it quits I guess, but I can't be sure anymore. Seeing how he took a quick win over Johnson that might prompt him to take an additional opponent. A bit surprised Minakov lost, but that finger injury is just a freak accident. Don't think he would have lost if it wasn't for that, even though those leg kicks were affecting him, but it is what it is.

Fedor Emelianenko won without much struggle in the first round and he looked like the old Fedor Emelianenko with his combinations in this fight but there is no talks about his retirement as he has one more fight left in his current contract.

I think UFC fighters are on some new level where he might not have some capability to win a championship there but who knows? He has one of the unique trainers that has already won championships and managed to get out there with clean records. no other than Khabib "the Eagle" Nurmagomedov himself.

So a number of options bring about a number of possibilities.

UFC somehow is like the upper stage because the promotion is well known and Dana has good PR which they earned when they made it as reality TV when UFC started.  but in reality there are really great fighters in Bellator and the rest like in One champ.  

its Dana who chooses to be in UFC, if he sees a mma fighter gained fame and can bring crowd he might make arrangement. money will always win just like Fedor said to Dana.

Fedor Emelianenko can win against non championship caliber fights and keep on winning, he is 45 years old and i am not expecting him to make money nor get into any serious fight against any tough opponents at this age. Not sure how long he will be fighting but he is just a shell of his old performance and as long as he is getting opponents that are easy he will keep on fighting.

Well Fedor Emelianenko kicked Johnson's ass.... with a nice two-piece     I actually thought Timothy Johnson will spoil Fedor Emelianenko's "The Last Emperor" party, in front of his home crowd, but it did not happen. 

Timothy Johnson's career is on a downhill now.. with two losses in a row in 2021 ....where he won 3 matches in a row in 2020.  (Most of his losses started to happen in 2015 onwards...so that was already the beginning to the end) 

My prediction for this fight was spot on.... because home crowd advantage is a big boost!

I'd like to second this. Sure, on paper Johnson is nowhere close to Fedor, however, as I was mentioned earlier, Johnson brings not much to the table for the person that has a win over him, especially someone of Fedors caliber, but with being it at Heawyweinght, one well-placed punch from Johnson could have spoiled Fedors credentials in a way. So for Fedor, there was not much to win, but much more to lose.

Anyone who thinks that Fedor Emelianenko with record 40-6 is now old should call him to set up a fight with him, and Tim Johnson is ex UFC fighter with 15 wins against fighters like Cheick Kongo and Matt Mitrione.
Fedor have one more fight in his contracts and we should probably see him against Ryan Bader next.

Dana White Contender Series Week 9 is starting in few hours and we have one more fighter from Russia in main event Gadzhi Omargadzhiev (12-0) vs Jansey Silva (7-1).
Interesting thing that we have 3 fighters from China participating in this fight card.

There are more great fights on this card like co-main event Magomed Magomedkerimov vs Ray Cooper III, and heavyweight fight Bruno Cappelozza vs Ante Delija.

That is interest fight in KSW with new vs old legend but I think that Soldic should win this one, but fight is in December so anything could happen until them.

I don't know any of this fighters, 3 of them are coming from China and first fight in card looks very interesting with experienced fighters Zhifa Shang vs Juan Puerta.

Gallagher was hype for a hot minute, but then it seems interested for him has died down a bit. I am guessing no one wanted another CMG (antics-wise). It's a shame because he has amassed a seriously respectable record and with the majority of his wins coming from either subs or TKOs, that's always what the promotion is looking for. I'm still low-key curious of what will become of his career.
