And I didn't notice that we have two Bellator events back to back.  Lol.  The UFC should do something like it.  

I didn't have time this weekend to watch any Bellator fights but I see that Juliana Velasquez lost her first fight in professional MMA carrier against Liz Carmouche.
What I missed is that Cyborg was fighting on other card Bellator 279 and she won again, but I don't think UFC will do something like this.
There was no big names that would attract my attention, but I think next event will be much more interesting to watch with big names coming back.

Why is it worth watching? There are two reasons. Title fight between Ryan Bader and Cheick Kongo. Both are from UFC, where both showed good results. This is going to be their second fight, as first fight ended by no contest after an eye poke. Second reason - ageless Romero will face Manhoef, who usually shows an impressive performance.

It's worth watching this Bellator event, and I want to see if Romero will do something after losing at his debuting fight in Belaltor.
He is 44 year old and I think it's time for him to retire, but Melvin Manhoef is one year older than him, so it wil lbe intersting fight of veterans.

Big news for ONE Championship, they signed five year deal with Amazon, that is minimum 12 annual events to be streamed on Prime Video.
Exact dates are not yet announced, but I think recent win from Demetrious Johnson in mixed rules fight influenced this deal, and new mixed-rules fights are announced from One.

I think Romero would win. Manhoef is more striker, than universal fighter. He is an explosive fighter with limited tank. If the fight goes to distance, statistics shows that Manhoef most likely loose. Romero is very good at wrestling, and only once in his career lost via KO. I think he will counter every Manhoef attack, turn this fight to ground and TKO his opponent, on win by decision.

Yeah, it should be worth watching.  It's good cos the UFC is happening the next day.    And I prefer Bellator instead of LFA which is usually shown at the same time.  And Bellator usually gives easy parlay pieces as the fights at the lower level are usually mismatched.  Favorites are almost always really favorites and win the match.  Unlike in the UFC where there's a lot of parlay pie shitters.  Lol.

What is the difference, despite there is one extra fight on wiki (Davy Gallon vs. Benjamin Brander) ? Both wiki and tapology differ from Bellators card There is no Lorenzo Larkin vs Kyle Steward fight, which makes wiki more close to original

Favorites are almost always really favorites and win the match.

That is a disadvantage As a chance of "wtf was that?" and upset is low. That make whole rooster less competitive, when you that this guy definitely gonna win that guy. This turns Bellator to boxing heavyweight, when there were Tyson Fury era, Klitschko era, Mike Tyson era and etc.

I didn't hear about something like this, but I know individual fighters are allowed to have contracts with any sponsors they want in all other MMA competitions outside UFC.

PFL event is kicking off in few hours with great main event fight in heavyweight category between Bruno Cappelozza and Stuart Austin.
MMA fans should start watching prelims with some great fight like Ante Delija who is training with legendary Mirko Crocop, and he is fighting with Matheus Scheffel.
Both Cappelozza and Delija are heavy favorites and odds for them are very low, but surprises are always possible in MMA sport.

Hard to believe in this, as UFC likes to monopolize or control everything. Recently I've seen a post here, where Francis Ngannou could have signed a contract with Coinbase, but since UFC has signed contract with crypto.com, Ngannou has lost 1 million. If not mistaken, many UFC fighters have lost a lot of sponsorship contracts, when UFC signed contract with Reebok. I think you remember how cool looked all these bad boy and venum shorts, cool DeathClutch t-shirts with skulls. Now everyone are forced to wear boring Reebok costumes.

Easy win for Bruno Cappelozza in first round with KO round and pound, and other heavyweight fight finished in similar fashion with Ante Delija winning against Matheus Scheffel with a KO in second round.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that no one comes close. If we take the whole of the UFC fights, a ton of them are no different than Bellator fights, and ONE has some great events and fights with overall excellent production quality. I get what you are saying, but it's just we are conditioned to value the UFC more due to their longevity and just the sheer amount of fights they put out (and I personally have a bunch of issues with that).

This should be very interesting week for MMA fans, and Bellator is back with Bealltor 280 heavyweight championship main event Ryan Baderr vs Cheick Kongo!
Co-main event is equally interesting with Yoel Romero and unknown fighter Alex Polizzi that has only one defeat in his MMA carrier.
There are a lot of fighter from France on this card because event is held in city of Paris Accor Arena.
I am giving advantage to Cheick Kongo in main event, who should have more support from his home fans.

Will you make a bet then, as Kongo is a huge underdog in this fight. Odds are 3.3 right now. If we put aside fighting experience, I would say that Kongo is old. He will be 47 in two weeks. No doubt, he is in good shape for 46. But it will extremely hard to become a champion at such an age.

Kongo last fights: against an old Sergei Kharitonov, who talks more than fights (I follow Russian social media for MMA, he really talks a lot, and claim to expert in everything and is ready to rip everyone). Split victory over Timothy Johnson, who is not really a top. And no contest with Bader. I expect that Bader either win by TKO in round 2 or 3, or by decision, Kongo will give him a competitive first round, in that I am quite sure.

Yes I saw the odds and I can't believe they made Bader such a big favorite in this fight.
Kongo has big reach advantage and I think he is more heavy and taller than Bader, he has only one defeat in last 11 fights, and only disadvantage is that he is older fighter.
Sure I am going to make one small bet on Kongo to win, maybe a combo bet with Romero to win.

I expect an easy win (even though it will go full distance probably) for Romero. Really dont know who Polezzi is.

Actually, not just the UFC, but also Bellator. When Bader first got signed he won the LHW belt and even defended the title sucesfully and has been switching back and forth. Bader had a much easier transition to HW because he didn't lose much of his speed and agility (probably due to the fact that he stays at the bottom end of what would be acceptable for the weight class) but he also gained some power that helped him handle the big guys.

Interesting PFL event is starting tomorrow with ladies main event Kayla Harrison vs Marina Mokhnatkina in United States vs Russia classic.
Harrison is huge favorite and she is in front of home crowd in Arlington, Texas so it would be miracle is she loses this fight.
One more fight I would follow is Anthony Pettis vs Myles Price, this is another chance for Pettis to win after losing last two fights in 2021.

Oh c'mon...  Lol.  The UFC's roster has better fighters and guys who are at the top of the game.  I won't even argue about it even after anybody replies to this post.  Bellator is the B league.  Kinda like the Championship division in English football.  But I get it, outside the top 20 a lot of the matches sometimes get sketchy.

And judging from optics alone I think ONE is a lot more fun to watch than Bellator imho.  The guys over there are faster and more intent to KO the other guy for some reason.

Edit:  Looking at the lines rn.  Surprisingly Bellator 280 matches are a lot closer based on the odds.

UFC is treating their fighters like shit, they don't allow them to have their own sponsors, or to fight with boxers if they want, and more fighters are now having courage to say that in public, like Tony Ferguson did few days ago, or Francis Ngannou before him.
Why do you think some of the best fighters like Cris Cyborg left UFC and signed for Bellator, than you have Patricio Pitbull and arguably one of the best fighter and legend Fedor Emelianenko is in Bealltor and he never signed for UFC.
Overall UFC probably have more quality fighters, but many champions in other organizations can fight equally with champions from UFC.
