I really want to get one of these so I can attempt to cryo cool it. And see if I can break 1K Gh/s with the chip. That would be 2.5x their original spec of 400 for the ASIC. And badass as f**k
+1...me too... But seems like the "Habanero project" is gone...for now... ZiG

Guys I have followed instructions and installed python 3 and usb. See that Hftool.py file? Does it need to be in some specific file or directory ? I have it on desktop. But when I type that ./hftool.py -h it says that there is no such directory. By the way, if I ever meet Mr.Root and his best budy Mr.Sudo they are going to be sucking elephants co.ks, they are both assh.les. Many thanks for help and I promise that after I change that voltage I'm going to mental clinic. Sudooooo Roooooooot Sudoooooo Sudooooooo Rooooooot

ZiG Funny you should mention that, I'm just exporting the gerbers now to send off a new spin of the board for prototyping that changes a couple things I wasn't happy with, simplifies things, and makes it cheaper to produce. I'm not sure whether we'll end up doing another run since the ball is in HashFast's court there, but things are still happening.

Who do you use for proto typing a board like that with 10? Layers. And what's it cost.
Just out of curiosity

Not sure on the new one, but I believe on the first board it was ~$4000 for 10 blank PCBs. There's a bunch of North American vendors who can do 10+ layers of heavy copper, I often use Advance Circuits for small fast runs.

and makes it cheaper to produce HF's design that should "halve costs"?
|
My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive: Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

Would love to see a new board. But realistically it probably needs to be sub $0.80/Gh/s. Especially if it will be a month or so before it's ready.

and makes it cheaper to produce HF's design that should "halve costs"? No. I'm not sure what Hashfast is up to. According to the testimony on those audio files they were even looking at packaging single dies onto a new substrate, but they haven't communicated with us at all about any of those chip specs. It's too bad, a single die in a common 780/784 ball BGA would reduce the current density and make the boards cheaper to produce.

That would definitely be a wicked cool idea: single die chips Then I can see solutions similar to spond-30 in form factor

We have a batch of Habaneros that have been sitting around for 2+ months now while their owner waited to pay their bill, we've now put them up in the store. https://peppermining.com/shop/the-habanero/Ignore the description, they don't include a time machine. I'll update it soon. Once these go there will be some additional units without backplates that we'll price lower (TBD).

Have you installed libudev? sudo apt-get install libudev1 Assuming you're using raspbian.

Current market average is $0.75/Gh - $487.50 - this would be fair price.
