The bad sides of gambling are many ones of them just like you said, whenever people know that you are doing it constantly they will automatically name you as a gambler. being a gambler can be rough because you will not get anything from the people. no benefits no nothing and the worst part is, they will not trust you on what they have including things or any materials they're thinking you might sell their things to get some funds for gambling. Which is you now that it would never happen because they entrusted it to you. but you won't stop them from thinking that because the majority of gamblers who lost everything in gambling ended up in misery and lost their reasons to live their life with dignity.

Then I would not live in such country or community if the person around me at that judgmental.
You know what? they are the ones making themselves foolish because they automatically judge a gambler a bad person with a bad reputation, I hate that kind of attitude and if I am running for politics to serve people like them, I'd rather withdraw my candidacy.

In my own opinion, everybody has their own vices and bad behaviors, even they always go to church. So if you are thinking about your reputation infront of other people, it is much better just to hide your hobby as a gambler and making it a huge secret because you can still gamble through online and play at the casino by renting private room or table, so that no one can see you.

If people don't vote for you it is simply because they don't trust you. Don't worry on what people think about you. As long as you are not destroying yourself for gambling.

I agree that people shouldn't care so much about other people opinion. If gambling makes you happy and you enjoy it but at the same time you are able to keep control, then go.for it.
However, if gambling is illegal in some player's country I'm not so sure that is very wise to continue. That might cause serious legal problems and punishment so it's necessary to asses if it's worth the risk.

Of course, you are the one who responsible for your own actions. You will not get happy if you always think of what may others says about you. If you want to play gambling, get on it and make sure that you enjoys yourself always when playing. But make sure to have control over yourself. I agree with that, I agree that you should not be affected with what other say about you when it comes to gambling as long as you are still in control and as long as it isn't illegal in your country. However I think op is asking about how it will affect his upcoming campaign. What I suggest, if he is really into winning the campaign, he should prove that he can stop gambling and prioritize the campaign. I hate to say this but when it comes to public serving, there are people who would also think that gambling can affect a public servants personality, gambling is legal in my country and still there are people who always think gambling is dangerous, we can't fully change their idea of gambling, maybe they know someone who are addicted to it.

And those same people are the people he will serve in the future if he win. And if he can't fully stop gambling, I think he should assess himself if he really is in control. What politicians has to do when they run for politics, is they try to please everyone although in reality we can't please everyone.
Therefore, if even some people does not like a gambler politician, a politician would consider stopping or hiding what he is doing just to get the trust of that voters.

Totally agree with you. I have often noticed at the poker table how rich and respected in society people behaved like complete freaks.
Often this was due to the fact that they wrote and squandered all the money available with them without a trace.

They are mostly involving in gambling without rest thats why their behavior really freaks them out.

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with a gambling addiction if it doesn't make you become a worse person. No need to hide it and if someone knows about it then let it be.
