There are curricular activities out there you can do like volunteering to mow people's lawn than playing and not to make money.

Well plenty of people don't gamble to turn a profit, it's more a pastime.

Think about it, you can spend hundreds of dollars going to shows, watching movies, buying new equipment for games etc, or you can spend that same few hundred bucks gambling.

If you genuinely enjoy gambling more than extracurricular activities or regular hobbies, then why not?

Your net loss is the same either way, the only thing that changes is your enjoyment level.

Although all of us expect a return, we differ in regards to why do we expect that return. For some of us, who gamble for fun, any return, even just $1, is a reason to rejoice. But for people who gamble for profits, $1 is nothing, so they risk more in order to potentially win more. Here are the basic purposes why others are keep on gambling. Competition, winning is the best part of gambling especially if you are competing to each other. Past time, gambling is the best past time as you will forget the time easily if you are already gambling. Profit, earning some money is a good opportunity in gambling. Gamblers are not always aiming to win or to get a profit, there are some gamblers who seeking enjoyment and kill the boredom like me. We have no gamble that does not have to be money. That's why it's called gambling because it has money. Likely, when we gamble we think of winning, how dare we lose? Lets face it. Even those who are gambling just for fun sees gambling too as their way to get money. Its just that it is not their main priority why they are gambling in the first place. We all want money but if you have many ways to earn it other than gambling then who cares if you loses on it.

Exactly. When you try to make good money with gambling it's not fun anymore, it's work. It's a hard job, and unlike other jobs, it's rarely rewarding. So, why ruin what can be a good entertainment by making a hard job out of it, especially when you are more likely to lose, not to earn, money as a result?
