I see that Both Fine option is winning but still there are a few others that cannot join either of them and some that can join only one of them so I was thinking why not make 2 tournaments ? As I said , this time I will join too and for me both dates are good. I still don't know how many participants we gonna have but if we're more than 20 I think we could do both tourneys right ?

If not, then just spread the word that there is a Bitcointalk community poker tournament on-going with registrations still opened and everyone is welcomed.

SPortsbet has KYC but you don't need it as long as you bet with crypto. If you bet with Fiat or you play HUGE amount if money ( crypto or fiat ) the law demands them to make KYC to users.

Sportsbet has KYC? If so, then I'm out. Sorry, don't want to give my documents even to Binance, not to mention casino.  Undecided

They have what I call selective KYC. They can ask you anytime but from what I have seen so far they mainly ask for KYC when there is suspicion of multi accounting or if you use fiat.

I have been using them for half a year now (BTC & ETH) and they never asked me for KYC. I consider myself as high roller and never had any problems. Feel free to reach me via PM if you would like more info.

I would probably risk it in your place. 1 mbtc is not a lot of money and if worst happens I would let them keep it rather than do KYC.

not by default, no. i play on sportsbet with an anonymous account through VPN because i live in a prohibited jurisdiction. i've had no problems yet, but i also don't store much funds there just in case.

they operate the same as non-KYC exchanges. of course they "reserve the right" to demand KYC, to cover their ass legally.

They have what I call selective KYC. They can ask you anytime but from what I have seen so far they mainly ask for KYC when there is suspicion of multi accounting or if you use fiat.

+1. i did some digging. this issue doesn't come up very often. i would consider it similar to using a non-KYC account at binance or similar exchange. the possibility of them forcing KYC is possible, but small.

no big deal for a 1 mBTC buy-in. Cool

Exactly let them have it than betting your privacy to them too. If this is possible then I can attend the event and join the fun with the other bitcointalk players, good thing that wasn't really that needed to bet on crypto. May I know if what's the agreed buy-in as the OP confuses me if it's 10 or 20 bucks?

Count me in!

SwC is one potential alternative. they are bitcoin-only, no KYC, and also no banned jurisdictions:

Quote
Do you require my dox/identification?‍

No. We at SwC Poker flatly reject the idea that an online poker room should require your personal information. We believe the online poker experience should be similar to a live cardroom, whereby players can buy chips, play, and cash out anonymously. By using Bitcoin, SwC Poker can securely, anonymously and quickly process transactions without requiring any documentation. Only an e-mail address is required to create and use an account.‍

Do you accept USA players? Other countries?‍

SwC Poker gladly accepts players worldwide.‍

i haven't played there in many years, and i know ownership has changed hands since then, so i can't comment on the software or reliability. but for this level of buy-in, it may be worth a try.

what do you guys think? maybe i'll see if it's possible to organize a private game there. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5068812.0

May I know if what's the agreed buy-in as the OP confuses me if it's 10 or 20 bucks?

1 mBTC for now.

I signed up on sportsbet yesterday and was able to play poker in freerolls yesterday and today without having to make KYC. I think only when it comes to payout, you have to do KYC, unfortunately. I like this site, but the KYC thing bothers me a bit. I don't like KYC either.  Tongue

I'm possibly interested in playing.  Who holds the funds in escrow and how many people is this tournament.  What's the payout structure?  And by the looks of it it's going to be played on a site that requires ID documents is that true?

Tourney is played at Sportsbet, so they have the funds Wink Anybody can join, the password will be posted in here, so # of players is unknown, but I would think maybe ~25 next time. Tournament structure can be found here (at least it was like that last time). Sportsbet might ask you for KYC, there seems to be no stringent line who they kyc and who not.

I am generally fine with 6pm on Sundays, but could only join 16th and not 23rd this time.

@efialtis

Could you put this table in the first post (and update regularly Cheesy) ? Makes it easier to know who is who at the tables and easier to find, when in first post.

Those are the names I found going through the thread:

I think efialtis was the one adding those on the lists for interested participants and I think the one we see in the OP is an outdated one. I guess we should wait for him to update it my username on Sportsbet is K1R1TO.

Yes, late registration will be available for some time and password will be posted in this thread for anyone interested to join.

I have added CoinEraser, rhomelmabini and iv4n to the list. You can maybe just add a link to my post in first post @efialtis and I will keep the list updated then.

I have updated OP and added tyKiwanukas post with the player list.

Of course SwC Poker and even Acewins can be alternatives - I had already talked with Acewins about a tournament. I would like to give it another try @Sportsbet though and this is not because of any affiliation or so but simply because these guys rock and are doing a lot for our community here on bitcointalk.

I would like very much to play with you guys, but I am afraid that playing on Sportsbet can be impossible for many members from my country because when I try to log in, I see this each time.

As you can see, I am not allowed from my location Undecided, of course, I was able to create an account using VPN and was able to play there because I was always using free money from their ongoing giveaways here on the forum and additionally never won anything on their site, only lost all these freebies (never withdrew), but if I will have to do KYC to be able to play poker there with no fear, then it can be simply impossible.

one due to kyc reasons Cheesy
Sportsbet has KYC? If so, then I'm out. Sorry, don't want to give my documents...
...I think only when it comes to payout, you have to do KYC... I don't like KYC either.  Tongue
Not that I don't want to do KYC if I would have to, only that it would be impossible from my location to pass it, as I can't even log in or sign up without VPN  Embarrassed Undecided Huh

yeah, i'm cool with that. Smiley

i just wanted to throw SwC out there because johhnyUA raised a good point about KYC. if there is an option that 1. supports bitcoin, 2. doesn't do KYC, and 3. doesn't ban any jurisdictions, that sounds pretty great!

i reached out to them and they are happy to set up a private tourney for us if/when the time comes.

I would love to play with you guys, but I am afraid that playing on Sportsbet can be impossible for many members from my country because when I try to log in, I see this each time.

i feel your pain, same here. we can play through VPN, but there is always a slight worry due to the selective KYC measures.
