The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Thank you for all the kind words.

We've hit every newspaper in the country today! Just this morning we've had over 3k+ requests! As you might understand we will be very busy making sure distribution is done correctly and answering a lot of e-mails from new adopters and media. We would like to let you know that you can help and support us by taking an active role in our already strong community. You can do this by browsing to our community forums and help the Dutch citizens setup their EFL wallet's and getting started. We're heading in the right direction! It makes us smile to see so many new Dutch crypto users requesting their share of e-guldens.

Let's bring the (e)gulden back to the Netherlands Smiley

dankjulliewel!

Kun je nog even duidelijk maken hoe/wat qua distributie... Per huishouden een aanvraag of P.P. een aanvraag? Wink

I'm not that big of a fan of alts either, they bring down the thoughts about bitcoin.
Everyone is just making their own coin, for their own country, favorite food or favorite animal.

I like this coin though.

Must be worried Altcoins will delute Bitcoins, their current business. Forgets bitcoin is an altcoin itself.
Their argument is that it is easy to copy bitcoin (Litecoin in this case). Challenges are with this community to make and keep EFL as strong as Bitcoin. It is all open source and eventually the bitcoin Core-team might learn from the EFL Core-team.

Keep up !

Haha Wtf??  Huh

That aside I would prefer bitcoin as the solely accepted crypto worldwide too... You go around shopping and your phone has a btc wallet, you enter a shop and want to buy something and you see a EFL ONLY sticker on the window and you are #rekt.

Maybe we can see a friendly coexistence too who knows...

He is right, bitcoin is an altcoin itself. Since the original developer of bitcoin decided to upload the source code bitcoin is an altcoin. Some developers picked up the source code and modified it.

Anyone notified https://www.mintpal.com/ how amazing EFL is and it's got decent volume in smaller sites, so they could add it today?

Let's make a change. Change makes you better. Change makes you smarter. Change makes you healthier.

Is the Github up to date (https://github.com/egulden-coin/egulden)? Compiled qt wallet only retrieves a few blocks then stops. Also it still uses the LiteCoin icon and the application is called LiteCoin-QT.

Edit: Fixed link

Just discovered a misconception of mine. Was thinking EFL was being mined private till 10.500.000 EFL's were produced and from that point on mining became public.
Noticed however that block 1 generated the full 10.500.000 (block 0 just 25).

Till the first post on this forum was posted (march 19, block 42000) mining will have been fairly private so these students hold about 45000*25=1.125.000. Well deserved I would say if they manage to keep this up and their project funded.

Currently we are 8255 blocks further, and so 8255*25=206375 EFL's are publicly mined by know.
