ESPN first reported on Thursday that the fight would be delayed due to a Covid-19 outbreak but Top Rank, Fury's US-based promoter, said in a statement: "We continue to monitor the health status of Tyson and his team and the status of the event has not changed to date.

Hopefully they manage to get it sorted some how rather than pushing back the date. You only have to self isolate for ten days or something so it shouldn't have to be pushed back so far. I hope there's no shenanigans going on to try push the fight back for whatever reason.

You can still get or spread the virus even though you're vaccinated apparently which seems to defeat the purpose of it. I don't trust the tests they do either as they seem to be giving a lot of false positives especially amongst those with no symptoms.

This would be an unavoidable situation since we are talking covid infection on here and who doesnt want for the fight to be postponed? Lots had anticipated and there are

It's all over boxing related websites already, so I think it's already confirmed. You don't need to wait for their social media as you all know, those boxing related websites have sources inside that's why they pick up the news before the fighter themselves announce it. To be fair though, it's not just in boxing, but any other sports specially involving high profile matches like this one.

There's one name that pops out though to be a replace, and that is Dillian Whyte. Not sure about this though, people wanted to see the trilogy and it's better to wait and not have Wilder face another boxer.

I also believe there's no reason for the fight postponement or maybe the media are the one confusing us now because the two camp involved haven't publicly say anything about the postponing the fight (I don't know maybe I miss the announcement) and the last time I checked Fury is a person that exercise very well so getting over the virus shouldn't be difficult.
I could remember Povetkin also had COVID before fighting Dillian.

Normal for  such postponement due to infection of one of the fighters which would really be causing  up some delay but we know that isolation duration isnt really that to far off or simply exactly talking about 14 days
and if you do able to survive and didnt make out too much complications or simply no showing of symptoms then there might be some probability of resuming the event.

There are still no news but lets see the decision would be taken after of his isolation but of course we should mind that after being infected there would be those recovery days needed
and also October is still a bit far so i do see it would already be sufficient.

I think it's just a big excuse if you are watching the NBA playoffs, Chris Paul was infected with covid-19 that's why he missed some games in the WCF but he was still able to come back in the series and played really well. It doesn't need a month to come back if they really want.

It depends upon how his body is coping with the virus, everyone has different symptoms and it is hard to predict now as i want to see a perfectly healthy Tyson Fury to fight in the trilogy as the virus will affect his lungs thereby his stamina in a high profile fight i do not want to see him taking any risk.

Yes, but considering how badly the industry has already been affected by the virus, I think all these people could strain themselves and somehow meet the required deadlines. If this is just a positive test, and not a serious illness, then all the issues can be settled without such a huge shift.

What are the chances the Fury-Wilder trilogy will not go ahead this year? Let us say for example a week before the re-scheduled fight Wilder tests positive for COVID-19 or say Fury tests positive again, it would mean more uncertainty on the merry-go-round of misfortune of the fighters.
