Thank you

That was the last block the pool has found, but I hope you know that is irrelevant as far as the future is concerned.

Looks like 19,000,000th bitcoin was just mined around 25 minutes ago between height 730,032 and height 730,033, does that seem right? Or am I excluding the mempool blocks?

Let's do some math (maybe not a good idea since it's 4 am here)  Grin

Block 0 to block 210,000 > 10,500,000 coins were miner
Block 0 to block  420,001 > 15,750,000
Block 0 to block  630,002 > 18,375,000

19,000,000 - 18,375,000 = 625,000 BTC, divide by 6.25 btc gives you 100,000 blocks

so 630,002 + 100,000 = block height 730,002 not  730,032, but hey, gain, it's 4 am.

Grin It was just a guess. I saw on BTC Explorer and it was showing 19,000,012 coins at the time with the blocks I listed being the most recent. Thanks for the clarification.

good morning all,

round 18 in planing. 3 seats are free at the moment.
I keep an eye on this solo pool topic and i the main topic in our local board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5392656.0

we are full and waiting for the paymend of all member

******************************

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.01 BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 9 blocks --> 188 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address 3KWE8HcunSfvfNBy3CdXZdQ2HyvierBxeT and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

Again two people have sent coins although they had no space. The effort to manage this increases and increases.
FROM NOW I CONSIDER EVERY TX SENT WITHOUT HAVING A PLACE AS MY PERSONAL DONATION.
If you are unsure, ask first!

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2022 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2022 all payments are used around longer to run.

Please send reservation amounts only when you read an OK from me!

Of course there is no guarantee that we will find a block, but it would be mega if we repeat the runs until we find one!

Would you guys solo mine if you had about 1.2PH or still mine in a pool? I am sure it depends on risk tolerance but curious on people taught on this.

I would.  In my view, it's simply luck these days and 1.2PH is good enough.  Heck, I have a broken S5 running at 550GH and my best share hit 4T a while back - so in my view it's worth a shot.   I have an old dusty S7 that runs around 4.7T and it hasn't found its way out of the billions yet and it's been months.     I've even used nicehash to run 1PH for 24 hours.  It didn't get me anything but it was fun to hope.  I think it's all luck these days.  Just my 2 cents.

Rookie question.

What happens if the miner is interrupted? Does it literally start from scratch again or are previously submitted shares still valid?

Makes no difference. There is no such thing as "progress" in mining, and previously submitted shares here on solo ckpool aren't worth anything either.

Thankyou. I was trying to work out the difference between best share and best ever in the stats so am presuming that best ever is just that.. regardless of the session.

I have also spotted strange speed figures, I am running 4 x Newpacs at about 320G but my stats are showing 600G

1.2PH is TOO MUCH to gamble with, and yet TOO SMALL to win blocks at somehow consistent time intervals, it's most certainly a terrible idea to gamble with 240$ worth of Bitcoin every day unless you think gambling is good for you.

This of course changes if you had like 50PH and 1PH was just 2% of your hashrate and you want to play with it, just like how most of us here do, the majority of hashrate is pointed to a pool that would give us somehow a stable income, and a bit of the hashrate is pointed to solo pool merely for fun/gambling given the low chances.

The short answer is: It's a terrible idea.

he would be better off pointing 1.15 ph to a legit pool that pays steady and 0.05 ph to ck- solo or better yet to Laurentia Pool

that pool was created by ck and has only 3 miners on it.

Is that Laurentia Pool solo? I haven't seen it. And why would it be better to use that one instead of ck-solo?

So even a 3PH it would still to low to solo. I am working my way up to 3PH

It all comes down to luck, look at the guy here that hit a block with a set of stick miners.  You can have 3PH and not hit a block for years, or have 100TB and hit one in a day.
