Hey guys,

I have just added a poll to get a quick feeling - referring to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5243099.0.

Long story short: I don't see us having a separate "charity-tournament" for now due to time-frame. Instead, I would like to give everyone the chance to "donate" parts of the extra chips or send additional extra chips as long as series #2 runs. Donated chips will not count towards the final prize pool as of now - I may come up with something though to cover up, so no worries, we will have a great prize for sure. Wink

Anyone who is willing to support the cause, just let me know whenever you send chips and I will take care of the rest and have Royse777 receive the funds the fastest way. Your donations do not have to be made public if you don't wish to do so.

Thank you very much in advance and thank you for having made our Bitcointalk Series such an amazing and fun event!

Good to see you are giving your best to get the exposure of the project. We are so grateful.

I just had a thought: Do you want me to create an account in SwC and give you the username and add a new section in the OP with the username. So, if anyone wants then they can send the chips on my way. I will send them time to time in the donation address. Possibly this way we can save the transaction fees.

Cheers,

We're starting again already? You guys aren't wasting any time Grin

I'll be more of a 'come and go' player during the 2nd series, this is too much poker for me and is hard to keep the necessary focus.
I think I'll have more chance of good results if I play less but I'll still try to get to that final table.

Let the games begin Smiley

I voted too. Since the prize pool is already large, it would be okay for me to donate a part of the 200 chips per game. Wouldn't bother me. Maybe 100 chips for the prize pool and 100 chips per game for the donation pool?! If all participants agree, you can do it that way. I have sent you today 400 chips for the first 2 games this weekend.  Smiley

To start from the beginning, I voted for 5k starting chip! In series, it will not play big role, 3k or 5k, game will be similar, probably we can play more relaxed with 5k and have more fun! But please for final game to have higher stack! It will be more skill than luck with higher stack! Smiley Last final was turbulent because we had just 3k starting chips, and after first hour madness started, with all ins, and high rises that you can't pay because of the low stack!
Second thing, if all agrees to help people in need I am ok with that! Efi can take 10% (more or less from amount we give for each tournament and give it to Royce). We started all this in friendly manner, and it would be good to continue like that. I know that Efi is a good person, he will honor every deal we make (I mean if all players vote for something he will follow)! Royce started something (at least he did something) and we can support him as community, maybe we can spare few chips and help some people in need!

Reminder: I plan to play 2 series and win again! Smiley

I'm fine with whatever starting chips we decide to go for season two (first 8 games).

But please for final game to have higher stack! It will be more skill than luck with higher stack! Smiley Last final was turbulent because we had just 3k starting chips, and after first hour madness started, with all ins, and high rises that you can't pay because of the low stack!

It was even worse for Trofo who committed half of his chips very early in the championship game. There was basically no return from that point on for him. So i support the idea of having a higher stack for the finals at least!

By the way, what caused that we started the finals on two tables instead of one, was it the late registration thing? I hope this is something that can be fixed.

most people seem to support upping starting stacks to 5k, or otherwise don't care. personally i think it'll make games more fun and yield more action. make it so, @efialtis! Tongue

if the first couple games run too long, we could consider chopping a minute or two off the blind levels. i agree with others that the final should be deeper stacked regardless of what we do for the series.

Smiley

i'm open to this but i also understand if others want it all in the pot. in that case, i'll make a separate donation. i'm cool with whatever everyone else decides.

i paid my 1600 chip buy-in last night and plan to go the distance. Tongue

Good morning everybody,

the tournaments for series #2 are now live! Smiley I have asked SwC to switch from 3k starting stacks to 5k - lets see if they can do it.

I will now PM everyone (who has already sent chips) the passwords. Smiley

Regarding donations: Looks like most of you would like to help and I am still open to any ideas - I wouldn't mind taking like 10% of a week's "extra chips" and send them over to Royse777 - maybe we should just do that and anyone who is not comfortable doing this, just let's me know and I will not send his chips (all anonimously of course). What do you think?

Let's say we have 30 players enter the tourney. That would be 6000 chips "extra" and 10% of that would be 600 chips. Doesn't seem worth the effort. Maybe you could setup a charity tourney on 1 of the weekdays where it's a 1000 chip buyin, 500 chips goes to the prize pool and 500 to the charity.

^that's a good idea, the charity tournament can gain more than a 10% from our tournament

Edit:
the starting 5k stack is something that makes me happy

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

Definitely the final game should have bigger stacks if not every tournament. 2 tables was also a bit strange. I was mentally prepared for 9 people table and than I got seated with 3 other people and then closely lost the literal first hand in the tournament.

Anyway, I am learning most on my mistakes so I am coming for you all in the next series. Already registered for first two Smiley

Definitely the final game should have bigger stacks if not every tournament. 2 tables was also a bit strange. I was mentally prepared for 9 people table and than I got seated with 3 other people and then closely lost the literal first hand in the tournament.

weird, it should have been 9max like a single table SNG. if that's an issue, we should try to get it fixed before the next championship. playing 4-handed off the bat doesn't seem ideal.

Maybe you could setup a charity tourney on 1 of the weekdays where it's a 1000 chip buyin, 500 chips goes to the prize pool and 500 to the charity.

+1 for the charity tournament idea. more bang for your buck, and it might bring out a few people who aren't playing in the series. i'll plan to be there.

It was just a mistake/miscommunication/whatever from SwC/efialtis and won't be an issue in the future. efialtis made a post about it, contacted SwC immediately and they fixed it after some minutes:

The final has started - unfortunately we have two tables instead of one final table (as it is supposed to be) - I have already contacted SwC about it but for now, there is nothing we can do so please give your best anyway guys - sorry for the inconvenience...

Thanks for jumping in mate - yes, won't be an issue in the future - was caused due to late reg. but I will make sure we won't have late reg in our next Grand Final. Wink

I have messaged the passwords to everyone who contacted me by now and we also have a new face - I hope we will see more newcomers. Smiley

Can't wait for Sunday, be prepared, this time youcantwin (never gets old, sry)... Cool

Regarding charity - well, I will try to come up with something and post an update when I have.

I like the idea of the extra tournament the best, but I'm not sure if we will have many participants. Well, let's wait and see what efialtis has for news in this regard.  Smiley

@efiialtis , I just sent 1600 chips for the upcoming 8 games

regarding donating I agree with yahoo , in general the whole prizes and buyins are really small and doubt that they can do any difference but we can always arrange a charity event with bigger buyins
the pool + swc bonus aren't reaching 1000$ and that's for a whole month of playing , so a dedicated event with larger buy ins is the best IMO

The problem will be to hit that sweet spot regarding buy in size that enough people will still want to participate and that we collect enough money for rewards and charity. For me that sweet spot would 5-20 mBTC with half of money going to charity and other half to top three players.

> 5 mBTC sounds kinda steep for the regular gambling board crowd. i wonder if we could generate any interest on the rest of the forum though, since it would be a charity event.

maybe we should run a poll re what stakes people are willing to play.

standard payout structure no good?

Good idea - I have just added a poll. To be honest, our general thread might be the better place to discuss the charity thing but hey, let's just test the waters and see what some of our regulars think based on their votes and go from there.

Other than that - everyone getting hot or what? Only 3 more days and tbh - probably because I sucked in series #1 - I can't wait for our 2nd series! Feels like the first time...  Grin
