No offense but most people nowadays look at chess as a boring sport. Though I am seeing it being applied in esports but a game mode of it. It was started in the arcade of Dota 2 which is the Dota Chess. It is pretty interesting and addicting to be honest since it is like a gamble where you based on your luck if the heroes you will be getting will follow what you want to build.

Some years back I tried playing chess and also did learned from the friend or must say tried learning the game but soon understood that this requires huge concentration and need to be very focused as you need to know not only your movement but also how the opponents movement and how it could be danger if you move just 1 wrong move in the game. It is very exhaustive game but not my type of it.

Well, its about tactics, strategies, the memorization of possible moves. It is exhausting but it is really fun if you are thinking about how you will be taking down your opponent's king. But it is more fun when they actually apply it in games. Started by Dota 2, as far as I know, LoL also have this game mode and also Mobile Legends.

I do play Magic Chess in Mobile Legends but I don't think there is a tournament for it for us to bet on it.

Also, I do agree with the earlier posts that Chess is not that popular, despite the rick culture of it originating in the 16th century. I guess people would consider more betting in marble rather than a game of chess.

We had similar topics before, like 4-5 years ago. And as I remember even then some people wanted to play chess for crypto, but there's wasn't such offer from any crypto site, and I don't think that something changed about that. Just a handful of people would play it, so it's probably not be profitable.
There're chess simulators and it would be easy to scam people with them. That's why people who play online chess like fast games, people who wish to scam don't have time to check every move. I would play chess, but some casual chess with some low stakes, because I got rusty over the years, I don't even remember when was the last time I played.

I really enjoy the surge in popularity of chess. The new blitz tournaments are awesome to watch. I think the change from normal games to 3-5min time slots per player are just awesome. It increased the attractiveness chess to a lot of people who had nothing to do with chess before and then adding streaming on top is just wonderful. Seeing the top 20 chess players in the world thinking and analysing live on the internet the game is just awesome.  Betting on chess tournaments should grow in my opinion to make the sport even more attractive.

Believe me or not but there are only small percent of gamblers that are interested in chess than other physical sports. I think also that Lebron James is popular than Garry Kasparov.
Casino`s really love bettors and they are after the bets than in sports. If only few gamblers have interest in chess sports then there is only small amount of wagers every time there is a tournament. Twitch is a very popular platform on streaming, so definitely it will be an easy process to make it on the top (actually it's on the top right now). There are millions of viewers day by day so chess will definitely dominate the other games listed on betting platforms. To be honestly, my favorite sports is chess. Well in fact, I was player in my school during my high school days. And yes you are right, we need to make some steps in this sport. I don't know if this is already posted here but here is the site. If the large chess platforms also embrace betting in some capacity, it could lead the market to growing more. People would have more incentive to watch, more sponsors, more money flowing around. And then organizers and event hosts could also see benefits from creating bigger and better events. I could see chess up there with some of the bigger e-sports. A new breed of chess tournament is born if Chess draws some inspiration from modern esports. I'm surprised it took so long for chess to catch up but it's certainly holding up well.

It will be a good addition as there are only few sports that you can bet right now. So for those gamblers who want to bet even if it is a boring game, they can do so. I think the same way too! Its entertaining only for those who plays it and to the audience who knows how to play it. But for me, its kind of boring and silence makes me not entertained. I watch esports that I didn't even know how to play but I still enjoyed it. Its hard just like other esports game but I think the problem is how it appears to other people. And yep, they will still have their audience but I'm not sure it will be as big as other games.

There's always Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura that always stream their game with their own commentary, and it does really help allot of viewers basically to know how a grandmaster in chess think. Nakamura also plays some weird chess puzzles, such as all knights, all bishops game vs a computer and he can really defeat engines.

My comment here before was, what if engines used to cheat? Basically, for low rated chess players, it is a big deal, but by watching Grandmasters crushing engines, chess tournaments online is really possible.
