Hi! I check Telegram often, and definitely prefer it over Skype (due to stronger encryption and absence of Microsoft snooping). I have PMed you my Telegram number. If Telegram isn't possible, then PM me back and I can send my skype handle.

3) Elements-Alpha contains the Segwit-only features, whereas my understanding is that Liquid contains the features that are compatible with the present non-Segwit Bitcoin network. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Liquid is therefore a rather centralized attempt at a sidechain.

7) The escrow proposal sounds good, but can we make it a 2-of-3 escrow (utilizing a multisig address)? Bitrated is a directory of reputable independent escrow agents-- among these is coblee (Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin for those who didn't know), and he has a top-tier reputation as an escrow agent. Could we perhaps invite someone like Charlie (and one other reputable agent) in addition to PsychoticBoy so we can do a fairly solid 2-of-3?

Added you on Telegram.

3)  Liquid is the internal ledger between a few exchanges. There are multiple implementations of Lightning network (such as lnd written in Go). Have you seen this one: https://github.com/ElementsProject/lightning ?
Perhaps your next project after elements alpha or in case you fail to port elements alpha you can switch to lightning and still claim the funds? Im open for all suggestions.

7) I agree on your proposal if coblee chooses to accept it. There are 3 options:
- We send all funds to coblee and he releases the funds to you when you successfully complete this project (as in working and ready for production)
- We can use 1-of-2 multisig escrow with you and coblee. Funds to be released when you successfully complete this project (as in working and ready for production)
- We can use 2-of-3 multisig escrow with you, coblee and psychoticboy. Funds to be released when you successfully complete this project (as in working and ready for production)

Funds to be send to coblee/multisig address is 750.000 GRS. Do you agree on that ammount? Lets determine the ammount now and get that fixed. If price rises/lowers by 1 september 2017 then you still get 750.000 GRS.

As far as Lightning and Liquid, I will be open to consider working on those after we get Groestlcoin-Elements-Alpha to production!

For escrow, I think the third option you presented is the best. And yes, I believe in the future of Groestlcoin so I will be happy to set the contract at 750,000 GRS.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Total crypto cap just topped $30 Billion (on Coinmarketcap). Future lookin' good!

And this turned up yesterday, unusually positive for the Eurozone:

I can Escrow the funds of this project if needed.

It really sounds great, hope this project comes of the ground.

Cheers,
PB

Hi PsychoticBoy, I am creating a 2-3 multi-sig address tonight. Could you post one of your public Groestlcoin addresses (of which you control the private key) so I can add you as one of the parties to the multisig address?

Sorry to bug you again, so I found out that jackielove4u's recommended way of doing it is easier; I'm using Electrum-GRS, and following these instructions (but for GRS instead of BTC).

Instead of just a public key, could you send me the public master key for one of your electrum-grs wallets to input as the second co-signer? Here is my master public key:

xpub6Bee6wsMcVGHrd48Y81uDHZSe23LbARWwZ7WYPnNZ174WhCL7VZxzuodZdGtP3UycWjkeWTVCwj VPuTciub5ZJnxQxUMQJ72Xuh8XUgQxey

Once jackielove4u and you post your master public keys, any one of us can re-create the multisig account locally using the electrum-grs multisig feature.

@ tenletters, jackielove4u, et. al.,

Great job sharing all the details and negotiations of the project on this forum. I’ve not only enjoyed following along, I’ve learnt things as well. While some argue that this type of forum isn’t the appropriate place, I completely disagree. Crypto has taken open source to the extreme in the sense that even ordinary shareholders play an active role, and they need to be included as much as possible, just as you have here. Slack is great for the more technical of the technical (and github even more so), but we shouldn’t think that the average shareholder is a complete “dummy” either. Everyone should have easy access to all pertinent information – then, whether they read it or not, of course, is their rightful choice as well. Wink

You’ve done a great job in my opinion by conducting the negotiations and reaching agreements in a public manner. It’s example that I think should be followed.

Congratulations, and looking forward to following further developments as well.

Very cool, exciting stuff.  Cool

Thank you, all of the projects I most admire use extreme transparency and this seems to multiply the value of their work (because many other smart people in the world can freely inspect the work and business and make criticisms, improvement, etc).

'transparency . . . multiply[ing] the value of their work'

Yes! and this sorting of wheat from chaff will continue: established cryptos with fine reputations will look better and better to the 'outside' investors/users who are our future.

And: 'While some argue that this type of forum isn’t the appropriate place, I completely disagree. Crypto has taken open source to the extreme in the sense that even ordinary shareholders play an active role . . . '?

This is the wisest thing I've heard in ages. IndiaMikeZulu has specialised in community devving/'currency function' adoption, and has at times despaired at how insular communities have become. Whatever else goes on -- kudos to the more technically competent community members -- Reddit and Facebook and Bitcointalk and Groestl.org must be active, and welcoming of newcomers.

And meanwhile . . .

Remember when we ecstatically announced every (Internet) company’s decision to adopt Bitcoin? ‘OMG! InflatableDonkey.com now takes Bitcoin!!’

Remember the very first time that Coindesk mentioned – shock horror! – an altcoin?

I got one of the very early altcoin-focussed articles published on an ‘outside’ site: http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article45939.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=500&width=800&caption=The+Market+Oracle

Then Bitcoin articles began to appear in the mainstream press. ZeroHedge.com – true CrazyPants journalism – has become increasingly enthusiastic. They recently had an article on Ethereum, and today:

‘Recently, I wrote about a small $100,000 trade of cheese and butter. Why? This one trade changed 400 years of history in just four hours. How so? Normally, it would take 10 days to handle the paperwork. But this trade concluded in less than four hours. The solution: a blockchain platform that streamlined the entire process.’

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-28/blockchain-about-disrupt-7-trillion-industry

Now check here: http://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20130519/  It’s the month IndiaMikeZulu (my outfit) launched.

Total crypto market cap? Under $1.5 Billion.

And at this point? Cryptos pulled in 900 million bucks in twenty-four hours (with us at 116 on the ‘Currencies’ list).
