I expect many more participants to be in your pools this year compared to the past seasons. I'm also going to be one of these participants. I'm planning to make payments for both of these two pools on Monday. I think that the quality of the Serie A has increased gradually in the recent years. Besides there is no such league as Juventus dominated in the old times from now on. The competition level in the Serie A has become quite high. I think that the biggest deficit of the Bundesliga is this.

Hello! I have made my payments to both Italian and Spanish pools. I know I hardly post in here since this is a "fun for me and easy to do" league, but I think I'll do my best to be more active here as well. And in fact I think I did better here and in English pools than my own favorite Spanish. Strange life isn't it?

You are right, there was never so many title contenders and it doesn't hurt that most teams in Italy playes watchable attacking football and try to score a goal more. Gonne are the days when Juventus had 20+  1:0 wins in season.

Italy is now back on track to maybe even overtake Spain on second spot. They are just missing a bit of that galacticos wibe Real and Barca bring. Premier League is untachable but Italy really rose high and Spain is fair game.

La Liga is bigger than both, but has really big quality gap between few clubs on the top, and teams from position 6 till relegation

this season in Calcio could see several teams fighting for title, and I will probably put something small on Lazio @51, to make it more interesting, with Maximiano on goal, I think that they are bound to at least 15+ clean sheets this season

I think Bundesliga is just bigger because German tv has more broadcast rights and beam it to a lot of places, unlike Italian, based on my experience going to resorts and hotels, they always have a menu and TV in German but very few have Italian.

In this sense even French football has bigger presence and perceived bigger quality.

But I think Italian football especially in recent times is really what I would say is high technical quality, maybe not speed and aggression like in Bundesliga.

No way, french league can be considered any better than 5 position. If we are objective list goes:
England
Spain
Italy
Germany
France

Italy has great history but they had fallen off somewhat in recent past but now they are again rising in my opinion. Spain has lost a lot when Ronaldo and Messi left and it will have big reprecusions. I can see Italy taking that second position in the future, especially if Barca does not rise to the top of EU football again.

Germany and France can't get that far since you know league winner every season before it starts. Germany has maybe the healthiest clubs looking financially but that is also not enough to leapfrog other heavyweights.

If we are objective list goes:
England
Spain

that is what UEFA list is showing as well

but, looking at tropheys in last five seasons, Italy has only Conference league last season, and that puts them above France, but below top three than won all EL and CL trophies in last five seasons
Germany that have:
1 CL (Bayern), 1 EL (Eintracht)
Spain has more:
2 CL, 3 EL
and England has:
2 CL, 1 EL

no France as trophy holders in last five years (PSG is big domestic only)

last CL for Italy was in 2010, by Inter and Mourinho, and for me more important measure is EL winning (since that prove more than one quality time in league), last trophy was by Parma (what a history for them) in 1999

No questions about England, Spain is still going 2nd, Italy 3rd with Bundesliga few points behind. France? C'mon, they'e struggling to stay in Top 5, fighting with Portugal Primeira Liga. As long as Ligue 1 and Bundesliga will remain to be one team league, they're not going to compete with remaining Top leagues. Especially France, while in Bundesliga it doesn't feels that much. Despite Bayern dominance, they have more decentr teams.

Agree about discussions of Germany football being healthy financially,,, that is purely because of their special rule that does not allow club to be in control of monopoly right?

Still plenty of time before actual action starts. We have almost 3 weeks before first Serie A game and maybe even more. Temperatures are really high in our part of the world and there is some talk about possible delay of week or two to have better conditions for the players.

I started things a bit early this season since we have a lot of pools, this way players have more time to come up with money for the fee.

there is a lot of time till season actually start, but yeah it is coming close and some countries even started (following Belgium league, and they started over the weekend, not complete off-topic, due to drama over de Kaetelare transfer to AC Milan, that is a complete mess at the moment)

nevertheless, as he is also going to Italy, I would probably pay more attention to Calcio this season, maybe score in the pool will be better as well

@Trofo yeah I managed to feel the hottest days -- and if you can believe me I actually left to go to an even hotter part of the world, but will eventually end up in all-day/night long hot in Southeast Asia but here the heat is much more regulated (I don't know how else to explain it) and I am used to that. Europe heatwave is a little different, my body says mainly because it is cold 99% of the time and then suddenly not.

I'm all for delaying for player welfare, hope it's not empty talk.

@casperBGD yeah I noticed Belgian games already, those guys are always trying to get their own drama going before the rest of real football takes over

In fact, just to mention that for anyone who wants to play but can only pay later, I'll also back Trofo's offer and do the same (pay for you in advance as long as you pay during the campaign). In ALL the football pools except Fantasy (sorry, I wish I could but I might forget about that!).

By that I suppose you mean some streaming service ? If that's the case when I'm on mobile or on some journey, https://score808.com have always been my goto platform, they down for some months, but are back now. They cover almost every football match possible even that of lower tier leagues. The only down part might be it's not of the best quality, probably some between 320-480p I'd say, but almost perfect in case of a fluctuating internet services.

Even though I have almost everything trough my local provider you never know when additional streaming resource might come handy. I am usually aiming for 1080p but when everything else fails it is good to have a backup. Thanks for sharing.
