Eh... Today Barcelona will 100% win against Levante and the coup will happen again. It is noteworthy that many of the teams playing in the preliminary playoffs of the Champions League suffered even when they were the favorites: in addition to Real, these are Dortmund, Juventus and Bayer.

I was referring to the national championships. Real Madrid and the other three teams I mentioned yesterday were favorites, but they dropped points. In my opinion, this is directly related to their participation in the Champions League. Juventus are the worst off, having been destroyed in both the Champions League and Serie A, which has also worsened their situation. At least the others achieved the desired result in the Champions League.
I wonder if Atalanta will also lose today (they have a serious opponent - Napoli) or if they have managed to recover after losing to Dortmund.

Perhaps we're going to see more of such trends when we get to the knockout stages proper in the UCL, there are teams whose performance would be greatly impacted as a result of their Champions League schedules, if they are not careful it might cost them their title at the end, last season Inter Milan had to forfeit a title which was already in their grasp because they had to pay more attention to the UCL which they thought was of more importance than the Serie A, but at the end they lost both, finishing the season without a major trophy. And somehow this season it is begining to look as if we are close to experiencing same with the likes of Arsenal and some other teams in the UCL

I honestly thought that belonged to Napoli, but I guess both teams are having real struggles juggling so many different agendas (and as a result Napoli now dropped all the balls).

It seems that Atletico should not have any big problems against Tottenham, at least unless Atletico does something stupid again. In this light, an Atletico Madrid-Barcelona quarter-final is very likely and it will be interesting to see how the return leg of the Spanish Cup on March 3 goes. What do you think, will Barcelona try/show their cards or will they let the situation go and focus on their chances in the Champions League rather than try to recover from an incredible 0-4 defeat?

I think you can't get better draw when teams like Real, City, PSG, Bayern is in other side of bracket. Offcourse, I'm not going to scream that's our time and we will lift CL trophy finally. Noteven looking at Atletico or that far like Arsenal. Newcastle is good enough to make enough troubles for us.

Both Atletico and Spurs looks like teams who can make something stupid, but Atleti is just better team. About Copa comeback, I already said that if we won't score fast goal or two in 15-20 minutes, then there is no point to put all in.

I believe this is also the pure outcome much-needed to keep this side of the draw exciting, I can't see Spurs - Barca in any way a blockbuster.

On one hand it looks nice and easy with all those big teams only to meet as a possibility in the final but OTOH I kinda think Barca performs at their best when dealing with these megateams.

Like you said tho its not like Newcastle won't cause problems for us, and Atletico gave us such a trashing in our last meeting we surely have to be careful when we meet again

Yes, in relation to Real Madrid, “corrective” (it’s not clear what, haha) decisions were also made. Everyone's putting pressure on everyone else, that's understandable, but La Liga needs to raise its refereeing standards.

Not sure if that is as bad or worse than Manchester United who I remember at one stage had less points that they had games played. But yes, most important result was 'strong Villareal' was overcame by us with a very nice hattrick from our wonderkid. Its so strange, honestly, that he never had a hattrick before (even to account for penalty duties).

Another milestone was Lewandowski only 11 starts but still producing 10. Glad he is transitioning out, but still giving much more than anybody expected, including me.

So, I only saw what happened when I opened one chat. 4 points and breathe a bit, not really sure, gap is still tiny. There is still El Clasico remaining and game with Atletico in La Liga. The most beautiful thing was completely unexpected. Real Madrid has reduced more pressure from Barcelona by losing points against easy opponents. It will be more surprising if Barcelona does some sacrifice and reduces the points gap before the El Clasico to make it interesting. In all honestly, Barca are a joy to watch. They relied on Raphinha and an old Pole last season, leaning more on Yamal this one, I just wish they don't run their kids into the ground the way they do.

I hate to sound cocky but I think we are better than Real and won't fear Clasico, and also confident to say in Madrid derby Simeone will also have no fear. They must lose 1 of those 2 games Of course 36 points left and we must win 33 to ensure we are champions, but Real must win all 36!

Read a little on the manager exchanges post match and yeah, summed up nicely, a fair result, credit to Simeone and his team. It would be awful for them to meet again in UCL though, but I suppose one must take rivalries to the hilt every now and then.

Didn't know much about Villareal and Celta (I do for nostalgia aka Iago Aspas follow Celta and last season when they had that woman make drastic changes, that felt exciting), was perhaps too naive to think they'd struggle in La Liga this season.

Ah shit I just saw it, last minute goal. Again. Would be so nice to have 6 points (and a better GD) if they just drew that, but I see Celta really tried their best, just didn't work out.

  Real Madrid is in a mess of injuries again. I don't understand what you're so happy about. I won't be happy with the season even if Real wins the double. I like seasons when teams compete in peak shape, that's memorable.
Yesterday's game opened my eyes: I think there's no chance against City. Mbappé, Bellingham, Rodrygo, Militao, Alaba, Camavinga, Ceballos. Fuck. When there's no variety and no cushion, there's nothing to count on.
