They are like the Dortmund of the Ligue 1.    They know how to keep their finances stable. Therefore even though they can't be in the title race often, at least they are good at not bankrupting.

It seems, to be able to become a strong competitor for PSG basically other teams must also have rich ownership because by doing so, the team can grow very well. After all, if PSG is able to retain potential great players because they have money, in reality the same thing cannot be done by other teams and thus, it is natural that PSG has succeeded in having high dominance in Ligue 1. But even so, PSG is still considered weak in the Champions League so yes, I think PSG is still not fully impressive even though they have high dominance in the Ligue 1 standings.

But about Lille, at least in the next few hours Lille will play away against St Etienne. I think, this will be a good moment to choose Lille to win because after all, St Etienne so far has not had good results at all and it seems, St Etienne is also still not able to compete well in Ligue 1. Because this season St Etienne is a promotion team with this factor, then I personally still believe Lille will even though the odds are currently @ 1.70.

Though Paris Saint Germaine were able to reach the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League competition last season, I never considered them a serious contender to win the competition from the start of last season and my reason was simply because of the fact that it was Luis Enrique's first season at the club. I understand that other big clubs in the UCL are focused on winning the title as well but I think Paris Saint Germaine might shock everyone by going one more step or even two further than they reached last season by winning the competition.

In the French league, I don't think Paris Saint Germaine have any reason not to win the league title even when I know they'll face strong competition from Marseille who have been incredibly impressive this season. Luis Enrique have all the needed quality players to achieve everything he wants to achieve this season and I'll be very happy to see his PSG side do the unthinkable this season.

This week they will face Brest, although Brest cannot be underestimated because last season they managed to enter the UCL league zone, but I am pessimistic if they can maintain that position until the end of the season because usually teams like Brest are only good seasonally. Expected PSG to make multiple signings this season after Mbappe left but they didn't. The most important player in their team is gone but they start the new season with the players that were there. The person who is currently in charge of their club is not lacking in skills, so if there are no specific players in a specific position, his skills will not be of much use. PSG's achievement last season was reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, rest assured this season nothing like that is happening.

But I admit I was totally wrong. Now they are literally set free after his departure.    I always say that though, relying on one player is never the right thing to do for any team. I think it is not boring if there is another rivalry going at the same time, the problem is that nobody really fights for second place that much neither, that's the issue. If we had PSG be first all the time, and then other teams have some good matches that worth watching and had some stories and some narrative, then maybe it would make sense.

But over the years the league has been dominated by a particular club which has seemingly reduced the pedigree of the league because there seem to be no viable contenders who can dethrone PSG from the top. PSG has been dominating the domestic league since the Qatari owners acquired the club and began to bring in world class player into the club and several world class coaches who have turned the club's fortune around for good except winning the champions league. At the moment I do not see any other club than can withstand PSG at the moment but it still doesn't mean they would be unbeaten this season.

If we look at the past few seasons, we find that the same thing happens at the end of every Ligue 1 season, the toughness and consistency possessed by PSG has been able to leave other teams far away so far and sometimes even PSG can celebrate the champion earlier before the season is actually over due to a huge point difference, If we hope that Ligue 1 will be competitive every season, of course we have to wait for a rival team to do wonders with their finances, because indeed finance is the main weapon for PSG at the moment, besides that there are maybe indeed surprises that are possible for other teams to win Ligue 1 like Lille in the 2021 season, but it has been very rare so far happen in Ligue 1.

I mean when you win the league so many times in a row, there isn't really any feeling left in winning the league, so UCL is the only place to care about. When you win this many times, the league becomes so boring that even if you end up winning it, fans are not on the streets celebrating anymore, same problem is not rising for Manchester City as well, when they first became good there were some celebrations, but nowadays you do not see that many people end up caring when they win.

So for PSG, league doesn't mean anything, cup doesn't mean much neither, only thing that matters would be UCL, and if they win that then fans will go mad, that would be crazy and they will of course be super happy. Still, if they finish the season with two cups, league and domestic cup, and then start with their domestic super cup, then that would not be bad at all, that's still quite good. They don't do that very often, even though they win the league all the time.

I think it's high time we try to understand that football is not based on the name of the players in the team rather the performance of the team will create a very positive change in the team which I think is what is happening in the PSG team right now. Mbappe left the team everyone was expecting them to break the bank to sign big names which may never help them to win the league since they once had Mbappe, Messi to mention but few yet they ended up winning just the domestic league don't you think the team made a good decision to start working with players without high profile?

The PSG team has already started playing well and after watching them perform well with so much zeal I think they may end up doing better by winning the domestic league and going very far in the champions league competition because they have got what it takes to do that, the team may even win the Champions League competition this season if they perform well who knows what is going to happen in the champions league competition this season.

Lille loosing to st Etienne feels so awkward to me, although going by the records so far, it's literally been struggles by lille trying to win st etinne but worse case has always ended in a draw and not lille loosing the way they did in to night's game.

I expected lille to get even a draw, statistically, they were doing much better, even as at the 64th minute, they had over 70% ball possession yet were unable to get a goal, I don't even see st Etienne  having a good enough defense that I will call very resistive just basically what I saw was lack of creativity and skilful finishing from lille was exactly what got them loosing this much if not they should have at least gotten a goal and  in the end not lost the game totally.

Nice is different and is no longer the team they were last season, where they could perform well even though in the end they had to falter and make their position drop towards the end of the season.

Yes, because at least, one of their key players, Thuram, moved to Dortmund this season. While in these 3 matches, Nice has only won once. So, I also think Marseille should be able to handle Nice well and win here.

They failed to take every chance they had, really, their front line was very bad, with that many shots, but their shots on target were lower than their opponent who was a small club there.

Marseille was not as good as Monaco or Brest but still, they are stronger than other teams in the French league but I think in this season we are going to see a much better performance from Marseille compared to the last season. There were even some rumors about Arabs buying Marseille and hiring some superstar players for them but this didn't happen however they are still strong and they are currently in the second place of the table with the same points as Nantes, Monaco, and Lens. One reason for Marseille to have this good performance in this season was Greenwood player of this team and since he had drama in Manchester United have had to play for Marseille and got this team to improve.

Without Kylian Mbappe, PSG still has no problems. PSG has won all 3 matches in Ligue 1 this season. Not only that, PSG also won the legal battle against Mbappe when the player accused him of not paying 46 million pounds in salary and bonuses. I think it's high time we try to understand that football is not based on the name of the players in the team rather the performance of the team will create a very positive change in the team which I think is what is happening in the PSG team right now. I have already made it clear that PSG will have no problem winning the local league title but with the squad they currently have, it will be difficult for them to do well in the Champions League. If you look at the teams that have qualified for the Champions League, if you consider the strength of the teams and the strength of PSG, PSG will be far behind all the other teams in every aspect. I agree with what you said that big name alone is not enough to perform well, consistency is very important along with big name. But you know very well and I know that if the team does not have good defenders, experienced midfielders as well as the best strikers then the performance of the team will not be good.  

If PSG are only satisfied with France league then they don't need to buy players in their squad but if they really plan well for Champions League then I would say they definitely need quality players.
