For Lens to close the gap with PSG, it's not enough for Lens to win every game; PSG would also need to drop points in every match they play. However, considering the likelihood of that happening is very low, Lens has essentially ended their championship hopes. I think they should be happy that they will be in the Champions League next year and that they will finish second in the league. Even competing with a team like Paris Saint-Germain should be something to be proud of for them.

At this moment, I don’t think anyone is convinced that Lens can catch up with PSG. They are not really in that kind of form. Many of us have been saying it for some weeks now, but still, we have not seen any action from Lens. If Lens were going to catch up with PSG, they would have done that over a period of time not now, when the league is at its end. PSG will never allow that.Lens have had a lot of opportunities this season, but they did not make good use of them, and I’m not sure that kind of opportunity will come again in the next few seasons. Still, they have tried, because I don’t think anyone expected them to be in such great form, occupying second place on the table. Some teams I thought would be in the race this season are not even close.I hope Lens can maintain this form next season, although it will not be easy, especially as they will be playing in the Champions League. The only thing that could help them is to strengthen their squad by signing quality players, which I’m not sure they will do enough of.

When Lens was at the top of the standings, they were overtaken by PSG twice if I'm not mistaken then Lens chances of continuing to compete with PSG for the Ligue 1 trophy were over. And now it's increasingly evident that Lens is slipping further and further behind PSG at the top of the standings. Nevertheless, Lens performance this season deserves praise at least they managed to put pressure on PSG even if it only lasted a few weeks.

Currently, PSG position at the top of the standings is increasingly comfortable and they only need a few more matches to secure the title. Furthermore, Lens will face PSG in mid May. So, it's safe to say that PSG is already very comfortable in the league. Enrique current focus is solely on the UCL especially against Bayern Munich which will be played midweek. Enrique ambition this season is to defend his UCL title. It will be interesting to see whether PSG can match Madrid's record of winning back-to-back UCL titles.

R.I.P. to Len's chances of winning the league. They lost points for the third time in their last 5 games. This time they split points with Brest in 1-1 draw.
PSG didn't waste that opportunity. They defeated Angers 3-0 in an away game, despite Ramos being given red card in the 74th minute, and they increased the buffer, that separates them from Lens to 6 points.

Something bad is happening to Monaco. They had a really impressive run of straight wins, including wins over the top teams, but everything collapsed like a house of cards when they got beaten by Paris FC 4-1 at the beginning of April. They are now on 3 games without a win streak. So, instead of fighting for the Champions League places, they dropped all the way down to a 7th place.

And Lille managed to beat Paris FC by 1-0 which should normally carry them ahead of Lyon now.

Because the tiebreaker rules in the Ligue 1 are like:

- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Head-to-head

However nearly every website is showing Lyon ahead despite having the same goal difference but less goals scored. Anyways, the fight for direct qualification for the Champions League is going on really nicely!

Most websites are not ready for anything but same points and goal difference, that is all they are ready for and that's it. In any case, I am sure that we are going to see this change and not be the same, hell even if points are, it would be impossible for the goal difference to stay the same, so something will eventually change until the league ends.

The fourth place battle will continue for a while longer and I am not sure how it will do, Lyon has also ownership issues as well.

I think it's very difficult for PSG to drop points because their quality is sufficient to win their upcoming matches. A 6-point gap isn't something that can be easily closed. They might feel pressure in the next matches, but I don't think that pressure will last long. Lens had a very good season. They will finish 2nd in the league. If they strengthen their squad with a few good transfers, they will be even more successful.

The race for a place in European competitions is even more exciting because the standings can change significantly in the remaining matches.

Assuming this season is just starting i will say that maybe it will happen but right now I don't think Paris Saint-Germain will looks so stupid to lose form at this moment because they have been battling with lens since the beginning and I don't think they will back down now. Paris Saint-Germain have faced a lot of challenges this time around, this season is very tough compared to last season but even last season there were at their best performance but this season they are challenges on their way.

Lens have tried so much which I don't expect from them but for them to overtake Paris Saint-Germain, I don't think is going to be possible because despite the the loss of form, they are still managing to the lead so right now lens should just forget about winning the trophy at this moment.
