With the 5 matches being played in French soccer league, I'm seeing Monaco topping the league with 13 points, follow by Lyon club that is occuping the second position with 11 points, although Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain has the same point but Lyon is topping Paris Saint-Germain with goals different, then assuming the league could just end with the way they are in the league table now, it really sweet me because league will not be interesting to watch, if a particular team should be dominating the league and at the same time lifting the trophy, at least the league will be more interesting, if more teams comes up to challenge Paris Saint-Germain.

It's definitely a bad start to the season for PSG, but it's also a good hope for the rest of the team to show good progress. PSG's inconsistent performance was really taken advantage of by other teams to get maximum points. Monaco is the most prominent team where they have won 4 of 5 matches with a total of 13 points. The points gap between PSG and the leaders of the table is basically not too much, even if it is already 5 points but it feels like there is still great hope for PSG to chase it because it is still early in the season.

The thing PSG must do now is to find a solution so that the team's performance improve. They need to improve the performance of the defense, as well as the goal productivity of the attackers. PSG have only been able to score 8 goals in 5 games, while they have conceded 7 goals. Really, this is not a good statistic for a team that holds the status of defending champions and I think they need to fix it soon.

Look at the standings I posted above, do you see Paris Saint-Germain there? I doubt you will see it. Paris Saint-Germain is currently positioned right below Rennes. So, when you said there should be more teams capable of breaking Paris Saint-Germain dominance, that is happening now.

I understand your frustration but that's how the French ligue1 is, and it is not the fault of Paris Saint German that other teams has not making making the ligue1 competitive, I will also like other clubs in French to win the title for some time, but when you consider PSG team, and how prepared they gets every season, you'll will know that they deserve the title every season, Monaco might be there for the time being, beside I don't see 2point gap as anything when the only matches has been played is just 5, that means PSG will likely go to the top soon, other clubs in French ligue1 doe not have the kind of quality players in PSG, I think that's what makes difficult for them.

PSG won, but it was a narrow escape for them, squeezing out three points from Marseille was very difficult for the reigning European champions. PSG don't normally struggle to win league matches, this season came with a whole new vibe, PSG cannot win any game yet without being pushed to the wall, although three points bagged today, no matter how hard it was for them to get it done.

In fact, i still can't explain why he tends to dominate in the Champions League, even if there has only been one match, while in the league he struggles immensely to be able to return home with the points expected.

The technical quality of PSG players currently really looks abnormal. But the match against Marcelli Ferran Torres was interesting, he scored again to help PSG win 2-1 over Marseille which now gives him a total of 4 goals in 5 Ligue 1 games.

Yes, in previous seasons there was no team that could catch PSG, but in this season the teams that we see in the top 5 now, these teams were far behind PSG in previous seasons, but this season they started very well where PSG started the league with disappointment, and now PSG is in 6th position. Everything about the table has just completely changed, but I don't know how. Look, we are going to continue seeing these different teams at the top. As for now, I'm not convinced enough that PSG are still my most favourite team to win the Ligue 1 title this season because they are still not back to their form. What makes PSG to be astounding than the other clubs is because they are much richer. PSG budgets on players is bigger than what three clubs spend combined on the transfer window in the french league, that is why they can't be compared with other teams. PSG has immense wealth which is the advantage they have over the other teams in the ligue 1 because they can afford to buy any player of their choice regardless of what it will cost them. Monaco position at the top of the table is just temporary because they are using just two points to top PSG in table and they could fall below PSG if they lose their next match and PSG wins. If other clubs were as rich as PSG, they can buy quality players like the ones PSG has. For me, that is what would make the ligue more competitive..

PSG has not had a good start to the season with their inconsistent performance, but there is still a 100% possibility that they are winning their league this season. From their last three games, it's evident that the team still has that control even after the exit of Bradley Barcola.

It's only a matter of time before they take back the first position. Though the league is becoming a bit boring with the back to back winning streak for PSG and a new champion would be the hopes of many, would that be Monaco this season?

Before the season started, I highly doubt that if you had asked anyone what they expected from these three teams Monaco, Paris and PSG in their first five games of the new season, they would have answered as follows: PSG at the top of the table, Paris fighting to stay clear of the relegation zone, and Monaco battling for fourth or fifth place. Yet, what we are seeing is something completely unexpected.



Monaco

Last season, they finished in seventh place, recording 16 wins, 6 draws, and 12 losses in 34 matches, while conceding 54 goals. It was a failed season for them, as they missed out on qualifying for both the Champions League and the Europa League. Then they hired a Brazilian coach. yes, it was an unusual move and I even doubted he would achieve good results, given how tough European football is. But to my surprise, here is Monaco at the top of the league: 5 games, 4 wins, 1 draw, and 0 losses. If they keep this up, they could even contend for the title.

Paris

Last season, they finished in 11th place. They played 34 matches, recording 11 wins, 11 draws, and 12 losses, while conceding 50 goals. It was a season with acceptable results for them since I highly doubt they harbor major ambitions like challenging for the title but at least they finished 11th. This season, however, they are really surprising everyone: five games in, they have 3 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses, sitting in 3rd place. If they keep this up, they could well finish in the top five; it wouldn't be an exaggeration for me to think so.

PSG

Last season, they finished in first place, recording 24 wins, 4 draws, and 6 losses in 34 matches, while conceding 29 goals. It was a successful season for them; they became league champions and also won the European Champions League. Things aren't starting off well for them in Ligue 1 this season, however; they have already conceded 7 goals in just 5 matches. If this trend continues, they would be on track to concede 28 goals over 20 games an alarming figure. Nevertheless, winning the title is still within their reach.

This year, excitement has returned, and Paris Saint-Germain started dropping points early in the season. Now, they will try to make up for those lost points. The international break will be beneficial for them, allowing injured players to recover and prepare better for the league. Of course, there are also greater risks at the end of this period, such as one of their players getting injured while on international duty. Hopefully, this won't happen, because Paris Saint-Germain is a team that sends many players to national teams. Excitement is rising again in the French league.

Don’t say you think Monaco and other teams that are parading themselves at the Top of the table have a chance of winning the French League Title, Paris-Saint-German had exactly the same start in last season, last season PSG finished outside the Top 8 in the Champions League and still won the Champions League, same two season ago it was the same story, which is why I think PSG are going to win the French League in a comfortable way, I don’t think any other team have a chance of winning the League title, the gap is way too much between other teams in the Division, I’m not worried about PSG  that is their story at the start of season.

The match was not a comfortable one, PSG won 1-2 after a long struggle. Marseille's goalkeeper deserves praise, his excellent saves are the reason for the low scorecard gap. Speaking of performance, PSG dominated the match and tried to keep the ball as much as possible. But they struggled to score goals.

However, after the international break, I expect that we will see the prime PSG who have been destroying opponents one after another in the last two seasons and moving forward. This season is not going as expected yet.

Paris Saint Germain overcame their recent poor form to secure the victory but before this match our plan was that PSG might not be able to win easily as Marseille is not an easy opponent. You may have noticed the team finished fifth in the points table in the 2025/26 League 1 season and managed to win 18 matches in that season but they are automatically weakened in the new season as the team managed to win just one match.

PSG managed to win but I think the hero of PSG's victory is once again Ferran Torres, in fact this player has been able to produce magical performances in almost every match since joining the French club.PSG has been able to win most of the matches thanks to his skill.

Paris Saint-Germain undoubtedly dominated and played a better game than Marseille, who are also struggling enormously. Their second-to-last position in the table certainly isn't helping their team's morale, which undoubtedly needs to regain top form for the league season.

Perhaps they'll use this break to think things over.

This hasn't been the case in the Champions League, but in the league they seem to be struggling to convert and increase their points.

They have not faced a worthy opponent in the Champions League yet, so it would not be totally conclusive that they are doing well in the UCL. Their next game in the UCL would be against Man City, that should be a deciding game for them to know their stance, though a loss is not totally out of the picture.

With the addition of Ferran Torres to the team, it has being one of the best decisions for PSG and I'm certain he will perform well this season.

Despite that PSG won the match but Marseille gave them a very tough game. Red card spoilt Marseille plan to get an equaliser and that is why PSG kept pressuring them until the match ended. PSG's performance this season is not as great as they used to be. They had a bad start but I hope they will return back to the era where they win their matches with many goals.

Players are always tired after international break matches so I don't expect any big performance from PSG.

However, Paris Saint-Germain's reliance on their opponents' manpower is a huge problem, as they can't rely on their opponents playing with fewer men to win. Marseille still played a tough match, ultimately losing due in part to a red card.

Fortunately they won but narrowly, I don't really know the plan of Paris Saint-Germain maybe they have another agenda by performing like this, their performance in the home League is not promising at all, despite I still have hope for them due to the kind of squad there have in winning the trophy, but  I am beginning to doubt their performance most especially in their home League matches, Paris Saint-Germain seems not to be performing very well, but I'm beginning to think that they have a plan of winning the Champions League for the three consecutive time in their history. They don't normally find it very difficult to win when it comes to home League in their previous Seasons but this time around is different.

To be honest, Paris Saint-Germain certainly doesn't convince, but it wins.
Despite some questionable performances at the start of the season, this team has still managed to prevail, especially in the last two matches, which have secured six crucial points to secure sixth place in the league and get closer to the top of the table again.

It was everyone's expectation that Paris Saint-Germain would get back into the title race. Their dropped points in the first three matches shocked everyone. We're talking about their last Champions League title. It's unusual for a team that has won the trophy twice in a row to have such a poor start in France. Fortunately, Luis Enrique and his players are slowly returning to their former glory.

Paris Saint-Germain is simply going through a stormy period, having started the season very disappointingly, but they're already starting to get going and regaining the points they lost. The season is long, and they have plenty of time to regain their position in the standings.
