It's quite difficult and challenging to teach old people about bitcoin. Digital currency is complicated for others to understand. I experienced that already and they said to me that using bitcoin is so hard and complicated. Many things they need to understand from the beginning on how to create wallet , how to transfer funds, how to buy and sell bitcoins, how to withdraw and how to convert it into fiat. For us ,it's already easy of course but for the old people I think you need a lot of PATIENCE to teach them to understand bitcoin.

Well, this is a good question, I think, there should be a greater insertion of older people in cryptocurrencies, it is interesting to show the benefits of cryptocurrencies, teach them patiently, and show the various courses and tutorials that exist on the internet.

Making a inspired speech from your research and knowledge can resolve the problem. Evidence and explanation are necessary in order to enlighten elderly people. You can not persuade people if you are lack of proof and arguments. Just say as heartily as you are. There are many advantages and benefits using bitcoin and the blockchain.

However, if the situation is tough, you can change your target to younger people. They are the ones forming the shape of the new world order in the next few decades. I guess old people have worked hard enough already. They need time to rest and to live the life they desire.

Exactly. Young people will be more inclined towards Bitcoin than the elderly. And that's normal considering that old people are reluctant to change their ways. As time goes by, the old generation will become history while new generations will take over the world. It's expected that physical cash will slowly reduce its prominence in the mainstream world as CBDCs change our world for the better. Before we know it, money will become completely digitized. Whenever old people will adopt Bitcoin today, it's yet to be seen. A very small fraction of the elderly might still adopt Bitcoin as a sort of investment. They could leave someone they trust to handle all of their Bitcoin holdings. To make them understand how the digital currency works, it's going to take a little effort since old people are not quite fond with technology.

Nonetheless, there's no doubt that crypto/Blockchain tech will be here to stay. We should do our best to help spread the word about Bitcoin's benefits to the world. As time goes by, people will adopt Bitcoin to use it for cross-border payments without the need for a middleman. Some will use Bitcoin on top of Fiat, while others will use both Bitcoin and Fiat for added convenience. While Bitcoin will never replace Fiat, it'll prove to be an excellent alternative to the existing monetary system in the long run. I wouldn't worry about many old people rejecting Bitcoin as long as it has loyal supporters behind it. Decentralization and censorship resistance is what matters above all else. Just my opinion Smiley

Its too difficult for anyone to teach about bitcoin most especially if who you are teaching is out of the calendar age or too old enough to understand what bitcoin is all about and how does it works. I think it would be possible but not for all the old people and also it depends on how eager they are to learn and how though their memory they have.

It is so difficult to make understand the old people because they are already used to the traditional way of earning and spending money. They won't be interested after hearing. Some people can be different but maximum won't. They are comfortable to use the traditional way. You can try but can't guarantee that you will be able to make understand them.

It is too complicated to explain bitcoin to elder people because they cannot process the information very well, I have experienced that where I explain it to my mom and she didn't understand it at first and she thought that it is scam. My mom is part of the boomers generation and she really have a hard times when I explaining it to her. But the good thing is she already understand my detailed explanation where she have now foundation and she now knows the benefits and the uses of the bitcoin. I think the style of teaching should be depends on who will you teach. When it comes to really old generation or I can say grandmother or grandfather, I do not know any way in order for them to learn what it is and to understand how it can be use in current generation.

my suggestion: do not try to explain the basics. just explain them how they can transfer them just like any other money. like master card or visa card. you gotta explain to them in the easiest way. and in my prespective, this is the easiest way possible

Bitcoin isn't difficult to comprehend unless you won't take an interest. Anybody can comprehend it in a brief time frame period.
You don't have to persuade anybody since there are numerous articles and recordings videos are accessible on the internet.

All we require to do simply request that old people groups watch the videos and read articles which may take just 5 to 10 mins.
I did likewise with my grandfather he finds bitcoin a fascinating thing to contribute and now he's making more benefit than me.

There is no special way to educate old people about bitcoin, it’s all depends on the individual interest for bitcoin or Cryptocurrency. You can’t educate someone who doesn’t appreciate bitcoin as a currency and expect the person to show interest or invest in bitcoin. There are many old people who will gladly accept bitcoin without stress whereas some will be adamant about the technology. Maybe because they are not used to digital currency or think their funds are not save there.

Bitcoin is barely two decades and you should consider the fact that these old people didn’t use any digital currency to operate or as investment during their time. They are used to the centralized currency, bitcoin is decentralized and anonymous so it’s would sound funny to someone of them considering their age and the facilities they were exposed to. So you can’t force the acceptance of bitcoin to them but rather make them understand the importance of bitcoin and it’s security, now it is left for the individual to decide whether to give it a try or not. Some people can be easily attracted to bitcoin just by reading bitcoin articles online and they become bitcoin enthusiasts.

It will not be easy to make parents understand bitcoin, especially parents who are too old-fashioned, they will oppose understanding bitcoin, only some broad-minded people can understand bitcoin, if my parents can understand bitcoin because of broad thinking ... and I have given  real proof of the results of bitcoin.

I think you need to tell them that Bitcoin is the same as a stock in the stock market. It has value and can be used to pay in select stores and soon possibly in stores around the world. You can say that bitcoin is a new technology that has value to society.

Older people don't have much idea about bitcoin either way bitcoin did not become so popular in their time that's why they need to understand bitcoin better they will understand how convenient bitcoin is for transactions and much better for investing. It will take some time for them to keep pace with technology if you understand slowly you will understand.

To make parents understand bitcoin is difficult and can definitely be done, some parents who are lazy to read can be taught via video and they must be guided to quickly understand bitcoin. but there are many parents who don't want to know about bitcoin, they are more sure about fiat, so it's difficult to give an understanding of bitcoin to parents like that.
Yes, it's hard, I already show how cryptocurrency works to my parents but they didn't get it. The only thing they knew is it generates money, well of course through trading and investments. Tbh, it's hard to make old people understand bitcoin since they prefer traditional things and don't have time to learn or adopt. Maybe they might get interested and learn it if they will benefit a lot especially those businessmen who target modern technology nowadays.

And even my mom too, i used to explained it to her briefly as simple as i know but the only answer i get was nodded which i bet she get it but the next day she would ask me the same thing about what i am doing. And so the process just repeats itself. However despite of this i am happy that she show support in anything i love doing and what i am doing. She just make me do whatever i wanted to do.

If truly they are ready to understand bitcoin and how it works and how someone can use it to invest to make a good profit. Here are some steps I will ask them to follow for them to understand bitcoin:
1] picture: I will show them the picture of bitcoin creator which is Satoshi Nakamoto and the reason why he create bitcoin to become digital currency that will reduce unemployment in the world.
2] Technology:  I will ask them to get a phone or laptop so that I will show them how to use it to register bitcoin that will qualify you to contribute in any bitcoin platform that will allow you to invest you coins to make a good profit.
3] Buy or Sell: I will make them to understand the area of market when to buy and when to sell your coin that will help them to make a good income. When the price is high that is the season to sell your coin that will enable you to make a good profit and when the price of bitcoin is low show that is the season to buy for future profit.
I think with this three steps can help the old people to understand bitcoin very well.

I am one of those "Old People," and have been in the computing business WAY longer than 99.9% of all of you, and I find the arrogance of the "bitcoiners" unbelievable.  You talk about bitcoin this and bitcoin that but you never address the answer to a question that I have asked in many of these forums, "I have $xxx dollars in US currency in my hand.  How do I convert that to bitcoins?"

If you don't go into too much detail, then Bitcoin can be purchased using the bestchange resource, where you can use any payment system in the world and buy any cryptocurrency. But it seems to us that the main difficulty is to explain to an elderly person what cryptocurrency is and why he needs it. And how to buy, then this goal is achieved a little easier if you already have initial knowledge. I have already exchanged my fifth decade and am trying to comprehend the basics of the cryptocurrency business. And to be honest, it’s not easy for me, but I cannot explain my activities to my parents, who are already well over 70.

they don't need to understand bitcoin to use it. that goes for a lot of things. for example how many people (not just the elderly) understand how credit cards work? but they use them all the same. all anybody needs to know is that bitcoin is a new form of money that is highly secure and still has a volatile value. anything more than that is optional and is needed for anybody who is interested in the technology or wants to look under the hood.
Yeah, you're right. It is not possible to completely understand the elderly even if you expect to. Because they have plummeted with the traditional technique and currency of the past, like Fiat. Its position and necessity must be realized. We have to maintain trying for that. They have to understand as much as they can understand.

If they will invest time to listen it's not hard for them to learn it.

For now first impressions from those old folks seems too hard but not all have that mentalities, those who are willing to learn and understand the process and what will they've got are possible to open thier minds to continue, you have to be more patients as it will really take time explaining each information that will help them to cope up and start gaining interest to go deeper.

It's a bad idea teaching old people to use bitcoin. Mostly old people in my country don't know how to use cellphone or computer. But if they knew, what will be in their mind if you introduce bitcoin to them? In news, bitcoin always mention because in our country many investment scam use bitcoin as their mode of payment. Old people always watch news, and if I'll introduce it to them they'll avoid it and think that it is a scam.
Lol, why say it's bad, actually it will be really good if everyone get acquainted with bitcoin, to increase mass adoption, is not like bitcoin is only for the young ones, my pops knows about bitcoin, but sadly as you said most old people don't know how to even operate a smartphone or a computer on their own, talk more of performing a transactions using bitcoin,i think they see feel everything about this digital age is complicated and during their time they never came across techs like this modern age, so that's why hardly understand anything involving tech.
