I think that this would be challenging especially that previous generations are not really tech savvy and they find it hard to know things that are outside of their comfort zones. Although, I agree with you all that emphasizing the incentives that could get from Bitcoin could get their attention.

usually parents don't want to hear their children talk too much, because maybe they are more busy with their own business, but I will explain about bitcoin to my parents of course by doing it also in a real way

for example I will explain a little how bitcoin works, I will transfer my bitcoins from my wallet to the wallet on my parent's cellphone while explaining how it works, bitcoins can be transacted without having to go through a complicated process and only takes a short time, Cheaper transaction fees when sending large amounts of value anywhere

I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives.

If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

One way to get the elderly be knowledgeable is by showing them some of the outcomes or results that you can gain from Bitcoin. Since some Elderly would like to rely on what they are seeing by their eyes and showing them achievements by you or the things achieve by Bitcoin can really be nice to be learned about.

Something related to this question has been said here before but no one seems to have the perfect recommendation but I believe the health situation of each old people will differentiate how each older will be taught to understand Bitcoin cause there are some older with earing challenges while some with eyes.

.
Im not sure that they really need/want to understand bitcoin. If they dont want to use bitcoin then just accept this
Of course they do want go understand bitcoin and we have seen an example in South Korea, UK and other countries where the older invested their retirement in Bitcoin but it all depends on the government attitude towards crypto.

Frankly, it is very difficult to persuade and clarify cryptocurrencies for the elderly, and I see that there is no need at all to clarify this area to the elderly, as they will never need it, so I advise you to stay away from this idea, my friend

The only motivation of old people to the space is to request for certain fund that old people can afford to lose and invest it. Invest in good coin take profit at bull and refund with the profit, this can encourage interest ,more over if they know they can keep their asset or inheritance in cryptocurrency while it also appreciate in value as year passes they could try to adopt.

It would be a difficult and challenging task to do because mostly old people are not interested into the latest technology for they are still sticking into the old tradition and to the living they used to be. If you do really want old people to learn about Bitcoin, you need to first gain their attention to get interested on knowing more about Bitcoin. Do the explanation in a simple and direct approach that they can duly understand because doing it on a completely complicated will lose their interest about it for sure.

If I would be the one to teach the old people, I would just share my experience first before doing a decent and formal introduction about the basic informations they must know about Bitcoin because I would attack first to gain their interest and once achieved, then that is the time they would learn and gain the knowledge about Bitcoin. Unlike approaching them with strange informations they do not know. By sharing my experience first, they will most likely be hearing out more and get curious to know more about Bitcoin.

and to get their interest, one simple way is to show how you can send money to their bank account using some of your satoshis. even just few bucks just to show that your crypto can be converted to your fiat money. i guess that's simple and straightforward approach on how to make them believe that there is real money in crypto.
because if you will just talk and talk about crypo without giving them an actual example, it's hard to get their attention.

It would be hard if the oldest people who doesn't know the technology, at least they have to know how to operate computer or even smartphone. Bitcoin was born form the technology, so later when we explain to them there will be a technological term in it.

This is what has happened to me, my parent asked me how I got money from the internet and I said I invest and trading bitcoin. I try to say them about bitcoin with make an analogy bitcoin is like internet quota, when you buy something but you can't hold it directly but you can see it digitally. Bitcoin is like that, but bitcoin is more complex comparing it, even some countries has agreed that bitcoin is like digital money.

The same way as you would explain it to everyone. I still am unsure as to why people find it so difficult to understand. It is pretty basic stuff.

Money = Place holder of value. Basic enough right? This way we trade something small or even digital in exchange for other things so we don't have to trade these things directly.

Fiat = Government-issued currency = Exactly as it says.

Crypto = Public/people issued currency. = This time the distribution is by the people not the government.

The value for both is based on supply and demand. Crypto changes much more often because there is less of it. Fiat changes less because there are many users that use it.

How is it backed up? Stop asking this question currency doesn't need backing and is backed by what someone says it is worth. You dont need gold to "backup" currency. Gold was currency back in the day so how cna backing up the new currency with old currency make sense? Gold bars are metal that does nothing. (obviously using gold in the industry is a different story.)

Fiat is powered by the banking system and is not in your control and is controlled entirely by the bank. You don't even own your own money and the money in your account is used by the bank to make even more money for themselves and they offer you a pathetic share called "interest"

crypto is powered by everyone who uses it especially those who invest in miners. The currency is not controlled by anyone and is distributed fairly. There is no central "bank" and no "authority"

If you cannot understand that then i don't see how you can manage to use money or make it. Unless you have a 9-5 fixed income job and just think the money magically appears every month.

Old people find it difficult to accept new things, especially those related to technology such as Bitcoin. They find it hard
to open their minds, This is evidenced by Warren Buffett until now cannot accept Bitcoin. So if asked how to make old
people understand Bitcoin, the answer doesn't exist. As long as they are not open minded, it is difficult for us to convince
them that Bitcoin is very useful for human future life. And we can't force them to accept it.

This is because they are not into the use of technologies.

They don't have any experience using technology, it is hard for them to start using it due to different reasons. They also feel that they are being left behind that's why they don't even bother to try using or learning about it. They are already satisfied with their knowledge even without the use of technology.

The learning curve issue isn't just with old people alone. It's a knowledge thingy, not just age. I have had that same issue teaching young people how to access both Bitcoin and crypto wallets with difficulties, (especially those who aren't into online stuff). It's always exhausting. I can understand this. However, why are you actually bothered with old people on this phenomenal technology? Remember that the old people population isn't that huge to start with. The emphasize should lie with the youth. They're the upward mobile age that can drive the crypto technology. Not old folks, IMO.

Teaching  old folks on how to use bitcoin will be difficult except a few of them who are tech-savvy all the features associated with transactions of bitcoin are quite complex for aged people to comprehend easily I agreed with you that much emphasis should be on the younger generations i.e youths that age group are much more in term of population however most of them needs some element of force before they can be made to understand things these days maybe due to laziness on their path or not interested in stuffs that wouldn't fetch money for them quickly.

From my point of view, before old people understand about bitcoin. They should first need to have an interest and understand today's modern technology because it would be difficult for them to understand blockchain technology and bitcoin, if they don't know how new technology works.

Based on my experience teaching older people about technology is indeed more difficult than teaching young people.
The fact is that old people have a slower catch of knowledge, so patience is needed in teaching technology to old people.
Moreover, giving an explanation related to Bitcoin which is indeed more complicated to understand than other technological,
really have to give explanation little by little.

Explaining on elderly things about bitcoin is pretty hard. I tried it on my parents but they are having hard time understanding what I am trying to explain on them. That is because they are not very inclined on this kind of technology.
But personally, my way is firstly make them understand that bitcoin is a digital currency which they can send and receive bitcoin.

It will be easy to make them understand totally about bitcoin if they are willing to and have interest in it otherwise leave them in peace because they are enjoying their time at this quarter of life.

However you can do these steps to make them understand.

1: First of all tell them what is Bitcoins (A crypto/has value/used to send/rec trx/less fee or no fee etc)
2: Give them some bitcoins (To do transactions)
3: Ask them to purchase some thing from a website which accepts bitcoin with putting fee.
4: Show them the market how it works why the price increases or decreases.
5: Then make them understand how the transaction works.
6: Nodes/networks.
7: But I think point 3 is enough for them to use it and understand once they do that they will develop interest in it and will ask about more about bitcoins. That is the point you start with everything and show them alts as well and eth-contracts erc20 etc.

From what I have experience on teaching an old person to understand bitcoin is really tough. Since they are not interested anymore on how this technology works. They just barely understand the old tradition in the old ways which are more comfortable to them. The best for this is to make a way to discuss bitcoin in a simple manner as much as possible you discuss bitcoin just like giving them an example so they can understand easily. Show them how it works and how to use and received bitcoin.

it will be easier for you if they are familiar with technology. Otherwise it will difficult for you to educate them and quite impossible if they are uneducated.
