Ethereum is high in price even after having a considerable amount of supply because of its smart contracts, if some project brings anything new or upgraded to this and has that Defi tag added to its name, it will get above Ethereum's marketcap too. Jokes apart, still we need something alike Ethereum but without any transparency like monero, a mix of these 2 types will definitely become a hit.

only XRP in my opinion can still make Ethereum a competitor,
for new projects it still can't beat Ethereum in second place,
Ripple can't stand ethereum when talking about competitor's because it has no strength to that effects. Ethereum smart contracts has given this frontier to ethereum and can't see that shitcoin that is ready to dethrone ethereum at the moment. Sincerely speaking, ethereum smart contracts with the #defi logo means a lot to come to ethereum network. Ripple should be ruined out from among ethereum competitors. |

Ethereum has it's many users in this industry if there's something could offer the best than ethereum it might beat eth. There are many cryptocurrency and as we have check eth is the most use. Maybe in the future there's a crypto could replace eth in the market.

Many cryptos are actually doing that. I have seen lots of it so not a question to ask. It's uncountable and are massively doing well. Crypto is unpredictable as I always tell people and anything can happen. Lately we have seen a coin that beat BTC so we should expect anything in Crypto as it stands . The market is doing so well.

^ are you sure Bitcoin has been defeated? yearn.finance prices are very obvious is speculation. How come a coin that I don't even own can cost more than $ 30k? The bullish that occur look like they have been planned. remember: Bitcoin and Ethereum will not be defeated, the new coins that appear are just trying to convince the market that they can compete with Bitcoin and Ethereum even though the reality will never be. |

It's not impossible to overtake Ethereum. This has happened when XRP was in second place. Maybe one day a coin that has a high value will appear. Let's say the coin appears like a YFI coin. However, YFI is limited in supply, so it has not been able to overtake Ethereum. Yes, the circulating supply of a coin has to be considered to determine if it can overtake the 2nd top coin in the entire crypto space. Price is just a sub-determinant. Even when XRP took over the second position sometimes ago, it could not sustain the position for an appreciable period of time. ETH is a strong altcoin and I doubt if any other coin will be able to overtake it in position. Well, maybe price-wise, it is possible. |

IDEX is the leading exchange? I didn't know about it.  I always thought that this is a medium-sized decentralized exchange with large commissions. And if we are serious, there have already been situations that Ethereum was in third place when it was overtaken by Ripple. What did it change? Personally, I do not care where the coin is on the coinmarket, the main thing for me is that it grows in price when I have it in my wallet and falls in price after I sold it. |

They can imitate ETH and BTC, but they cant defeated them both. But market can be so unpredictable, so its can be, i just cant explain how.
Based on data, ethereum and bitcoin still has highest score on marketcap, this happens because many large companies still use these two types of coins for transactions, and also, most of the final transactions of traders will be exchanged for ETH or BTC before being exchanged back to FIAT. So I think it's very difficult to beat them both in marketcap.

Well, I think anything new, or an upgrade that can make Ethereum lose it has a big cost and also a risk. however, we still hope that there will be coins that can compete with ethereum in the future, bringing new developments. it can boost the quality of the new emerging coin tian. well, it's just that for now there are no new coins or even the old ones that can replace ethereum. |

XRP can't but it looks like there was a new competitor that called DOT and LINK that will be taking the XRP's position to be competitors for the ethereum. I have been watching dot coin and it was going to the TOP 7 Marketcap instantly. Imagine when it will have $60 price for each DOT token and it will have the same MCAP like ethereum. |

it could be possible because in the past the competition in the cryptocurrency rank was very chaotic, there was a project that was ranked 2 and now overtaken by ethereum and also projects that were in that period became a dead project, now I think ethereum could just experience the same thing but that happens if eth have run out of ideas and also competitors' projects are better than ethereum.

Well i hope so. I think more people will give other coins a chance since ETH is getting more expensive as a gas price. Tho theyll have to rise against the already established ETH. But its not too far off.

New Cryptocurrencies always have the chance to beat existing Cryptocurrencies since all of them poses new features that many users can use. Having new and fresh ideas for the creation of Cryptocurrencies can be a tough job since everyone wants to have an successful platform that can be used by many in the Cryptocurrency Industry. There is one quite fascinating thing about crypto - value that one currency/company bring is not represented on the price of it properly. Otherwise, coins like YFI couldn't cost that much, because obviously there is no such coin/company that is as valuable as eth/ethereum, but yet there are a lot of coins with higher price than eth |

I do not know what happen to USDT that has now having a good market lately and if crypto market falls down then I guess most of it will goes to stable coin like the USDT. This is a better way of saving or when trading and market not seems so good. If the dip continues then right after it will reach down to possible bottom then it could be the best time to own crypto again.
In this market where price consider to be unpredictable the only best resort is to use the stable coins. This could be the reason that stable coins coud beat ethereum in the market.
