Do you think this is a match where the champions league champions' pre-final strategy will be tested by both coaches?
This match will really catch my eye today because the two team competing are the team that will compete in the Champions League final this season. Of course Manchester City won't be under much pressure to win the game as they have sealed the title, but I think this is a match where the two coaches' strategies are put to the test before progressing to the final. How about you?

Manchester City are three points away from being crowned Premier League champions but Champions League final opponents Chelsea stand in their way. They need a top-four finish, to guarantee Champions League football next season, whatever their fate in Turkey, and that’s yet to be secured. A defeat today would give West Ham, Spurs and Liverpool to climb up.

I'm pretty sure this is unlikely because the coaches of both teams are aware of each other's possible tricks. Do not forget that Manchester City can easily concede this game, because no one will take the PL cup away from them anyway. ... but I also believe that Chelsea have already prioritized, and for them it is much more important to win the Super Cup than to be third in the Premier League, (as far as I understand, owning a super box is much more prestigious than owning a PL, CL or EL cup).

Well it does seems that both the coaches thought a lot ahead before going into the match and dropped a lineup not giving any idea or proper rehearsal for CL final. So both coaches are not giving each other not much idea what they planned for the CL. Chelsea have gone with a lineup with some regular players as expected since this match is important to them for top 4 finish.

So it would seem @looking evenly contested as its like a pre-match for the UCL finals, lol. What a coincidence right... both teams in the prestigious UCL finals getting to play themselves just after qualifying.
Well, the game is a very challenging one and it would go a long way in having something to do with there mentality towards the finals. As, the victor in today's fixture would have a feeling of superiority over the other and the lower would see a need to do better and improve on there faulted technique towards the game.

Unfortunately, Chelsea has been met by a late goal in the first half, goal by Rahem Sterling just before the closure of the first half. A very unanticipated one and now, S. Aguero just missed a penalty before the game went for a half time. So far, its been an interesting game and Chelsea needs to get back into this game.

Chelsea made it to the Champions League final unexpectedly, but deservedly. Perhaps participation in the finals is already a great success for them, this is my opinion.

Man City always shows a very good performance every game starting from the front, middle and back, everyone plays very disciplined and well. It will be hard work for Thomas Tuchel in the Champions League final.
and Man City also continue to comfortably at the top of the Premier League standings and are quite a distance away, while being 15 points ahead of nearest rivals Man United.

It seems that some of the core players are also not fully in the lineup, so there is no idea planned, maybe it's still early if the two coaches will compete with each other, but it seems that this is not just a game like in general in the PL.
In CL it is still a long time, so there are still some ideas to plan maybe from this match they will know each other how in the final CL must be sure to be serious.

Chelsea managed to pull one back through Ziyech after Rodri lost the ball so carelessly,so disappointing what a way of losing your lead (**I can imagine what's going on in peps mind, perhaps missing the UEFA finals will be good for Rodri **), and both teams now look exhausted and Now a draw looks likely.

I think very unlikely as Chelsea just brought the game back to a plan field by scoring a goal and the game is now Manchester City 1-1 Chelsea. Chelsea is playing a good game so far, they've been awesome except for some few errors . Its been a long time since I last saw Marcus Alonso on the pitch and its great to have him back.

I'm still waiting to see the worst of Pep Guardiola as his always saved his best trick for the last or perhaps, its just a trier match for him and his boys that have got a lot to do with developing there confidence on the Chelsea team ahead of the UCL. I hope Chelsea wins this fixture so, they could assume the 3rf position on the EPL table.

Spurs are a big scam when you think of depending on them in anyway! You might look at them and see an elite team but in the real sense, they are very much a mid tier team now. You can imagine Leeds dominating and winning the game with a Leeds 3-1 scoreline. Well, Leeds has been the doom of top teams lately, they did it to Manchester City and now, Tottenham.

They're never good any more unless you need to count on them scoring first (or Kane having a goal first) -- that's actually been good value most of the season also HT results. They're pretty much on my blacklist most of the times.

Leeds did a remarkable job attacking Spurs defense and Spurs defense today had no clue today. Well that's what happens when you have a temp manager who doesn't have much tricks in his sleeves, right? Bale one was a tactical one I guess as he wasn't seen limping or having an injury inside the game.

Kane, Son H-min, and Bale showed no danger attack + the Spurs defense looked bad. I personally think the Spurs midfield is very weak.

I have not looked through the statistics of last year's PL, but it seems to me that now the situation is such that the clubs that have nothing to lose at the end of the season are easily fucking the leaders of the championship. In addition, ironically, VAR recorded Kane's micro offside, while Rafinha's pure meter offside was not counted.

Sorry, this season I've had so many on my blacklist from all the leagues. Sadly, Liverpool also on that blacklist but I can't help betting on them... saw Kane's VAR offside too. If wasn't for Sergio Aguero that did not score the penalty, the match could have ended draw but it was Chelsea that later picked up at the second half by scoring and equalize the goal scored by Man City. I have already given up that the game will end draw after remaining extra time given but Marcos Alonso scored for Chelsea during the extra time. You are just right as Chelsea won the match and still having the third spot with 64 points.

it is the second time that Chelsea defeats Manchester City in a matter of two weeks first in the Cup and then in the league today, to postpone the crowning of City by another week.
Despite the many changes of the two teams in the squad and despite City's getting ahead with a goal and had a chance to make it 2-0 with a penalty kick,
the Blues returned with the personality and spirit of Thomas Tuchel and his improvement since his arrival in England .
Chelsea now are sitting in Third place and all the pressure on Leicester with 3 rounds of fire.
Chelsea is becoming a terrifying force in recent months and could be sabotaging Pep objectives of winning the UCL.

Perfectly did by Chelsea and make Manchester City delay for get their primer league trophy in this year, I think too late for many Club how to give fight for Manchester City because now they close with champion of primer league. But this give good result because have second time on champion league final both team faced again and give more motivate for Chelsea to get trophy for second time on champion league.

Yeah Chelsea played more dominantly with a more exciting game at the end of the match by making a goal which ended up being a Chelsea win, I thought it would be a draw but the result was not. Tuchel was great and didn't last long at Chelsea but he's got it all.


In a few minutes Liverpool vs Southampton I want to know how Liverpool will play tonight, will they draw again or lose? It's really bad if they can't win with a weak team.

The victory over Manchester City is a good asset for Chelsea to look to the Champions League Final on May 29, 2021
Even though they were one goal behind, Chelsea managed to get up and win this match
and managed to seal a place in third place for a Champions League ticket next season
for Manchester City themselves this defeat they have to postpone the celebration of the title at least for the next few weeks
even though they have definitely taken the title this season
and suppose Sergio Aguero succeeds in scoring his name on the scoreboard
maybe the fight will be a little different
and Manchester city can celebrate victory in front of its own public at the etihad stadium

I have not been impressed with Chelsea the way I am since tuchel came in, Chelsea is now my pick to become the next English premier league champions next season and still they possess a youth team that when mature can be a raging force.

I think Manchester city gets overconfidence when the play Chelsea and this hasn't worked out well for them in the tuchel's take over, I think pep will take note of this when they come face to face again in the UEFA champions league final.
