This week was very beneficial for Arsenal that's for certain. Because while they were winning Manchester City lost two points in a very simple game for them.

However Arsenal's win wasn't easy at all though. Firstly there was a goal duel by both teams. Saka's goal was the most impressive one to me honestly. His shot was so effective that the goalkeeper was really desperate about saving it. But while we were closing in on the end of the game Aston Villa wasted two big goal chances. I think that it was the breaking point of the game. Because right after these incidents Arsenal scored two goals in the stoppage time. Jorginho's goal was a really impressive and lucky one at the same time.  

They are back in first place now and it is things like this that are really difficult to predict because we know that Manchester City is very superior but must be willing to play a draw with Nottingham Forrest which is indeed beyond the predictions of almost everyone.
On the other hand, Arsenal's game was also a little cramped because indeed they were only able to take advantage in extra time, which fortunately was 3 points.
Now the conditions have reversed after last week in favor of Manchester City now back again to Arsenal.

What is going wrong with Chelsea still? I really can't figure out how they lost to Southampton in a home game.

Chelsea normally shouldn't have given them much chance during the game to them. But the opposite happened. Southampton found many chances to score and they benefited from one of them. Despite being the worst team in the league on paper they still managed to win this challenging game for them. I think Potter's time is slowly running out already. We might see Chelsea parting their ways with him in the summer.

Graham Potter is a good coach, only for mid and lower teams. At Chelsea, he is still confused about which players to play because there are many top players. But what I see is that even though this season Chelsea have played inconsistently, if they attack they are very attractive, but the problem is in finishing. Unlike last season, relying on wingers or wing backs when building attacks.
Chelsea is still in a bad trend with its luxury team, Man City is in a draw and Arsenal are back at the top. The English league is extraordinary.

Arsenal is a bit more relief and in advantage right now regardless of the little gap they have over City, having won their game today and have Manchester City Draw theirs, with a total of 23 games played so far, while for City today's game is their 24th game.
I love the fighting spirit that I saw in the Arsenal team today which keeps them pressing on, great job because a lose today would have rendered all the whole effort in vain if City had won their game or as they played draw.

With their victory over Aston Villa and Manchester City's draw with Nottingham Forest, Arsenal will feel a little reassured of lifting the premier league trophy. Today's win for Arsenal marks the end of their four-game losing streak at least. A 2-goal differential against Manchester City is a good one, and if they defeat Leicester in their subsequent game, they will have a 5-point lead over Manchester City.

Am anticipating for Arsenal to do another magic as they did today against Aston Villa, to win against Leicester on 25th February

We can all agree that today was Arsenal day, they had everything they hoped for well almost everything, they won their match against Aston villa despite going down twice in the match.

Also Manchester City who sat on top before todays weekend fixtures played a draw away against Nottingham forest, picking up a single point this puts Arsenal in top position and a game at hand.

It is so wonderful to see arsenal returning back to their position, I never thought Arsenal would be able to win this game in the first half of the game and when Aston villa was leading the game.  It was so surprising that arsenal could score more two goals during 80 minutes of a game, so impressive.

Chelsea's match today was just boring for me. This is not the Chelsea I once knew. No drive. Azpilicueta was looking dangerous in the first half but couldn't get the goal for the team. Southampton would have scored more goals if they knew what they were really doing, because they missed good set plays, they couldn't handle the offence calmly and lost the ball too easily. It was almost as if I was seeing a college football tournament.
Chelsea's manager, Graham better do something fast.

Chelsea lack creativity and good finishers. If they get a world class striker right now their problem will be 50% solved. If they get a world class striker and a world class creative midfielder then their problem is 70% solved. The problem will be solved 100% when they sack Potter and hire a better manager.
Potter is not a bad coach, he's just not a coach for top teams, that is why he was awesome at Brighton and awful in Chelsea. I have said it time and again that Chelsea wont achieve anything this season with Potter as their coach. I even believe he is confused at this point because he's got so many options to choose from.
If Chelsea can do these three things I mentioned then they would be ready to compete.

I think it's quite simple and clear to me now because, Chelsea seems to be lacking just 2 things in there team. That is,
1. A good manager and
2. A good finisher for there number 9 shirt.

It's not obvious as to how much quality or Chelsea have got on there team but still, they aren't winning games and those can be trimmed down to the points have stated above.

This was the phase for Manchester United before Ten Hag. They had everything and just wasn't winning. Chelsea needs to work out a good manager and
They would need a player like Victor Osimhen in there attacks. Then they would have some good chance at the league.

Arsenal back to the top position Primer League standing after last mast loss their position and today have advantage after winning from Aston Villa and another match Manchester City held draw by Nott Forest. Its seems comfortable awhile for Arsenal existing in first standing position and have one match left with 2 points behind Manchester City.

Up coming several games later seems Arsenal on the lucky trend because against with easy team and potential keep existing few weeks later on the top standing position. Inconsistency performance from Manchester City actually give benefit for Arsenal back to standing position and have chance again to be Primer League winner for this season.

Too bad i turned off my television when they were at 2-2 thinking it would be a draw and my decision not to watch extra time seemed wrong in the Arsenal game.
But on the other hand, even though it was like that, I was still happy because with this my bet went well and of course it was a very good thing for me personally.
Now it's turning back in favor of Arsenal after last week many still doubted them including me considering the previous 3 bad results but with this win they are back on track they should be.

Well i think they fired Tuchel too early and just needed to be patient with him. Potters was a bad decision he cannot combine all this superstars in the team. They signed so many players but not a decent striker and that is the main problem. Without a good finisher they cannot score and they keep on lacking goals.

The English premier league is a tough one with full competition from both the superior and inferior clubs. There's enough actions to witnessed in the League. Chelsea having a terrible moment in league games, with good performance but they didn't deserve the result they got today. Southampton camed prepared for the blues with backup defendlines on the pitch. Graham Potter blamed and criticized by the fans due to to the poor results the club is having, but it's just time. Concerning Manchester city and arsenal for the title race, it's really unpredictable for which team to be crowned champions of the English premier league.

What is going wrong with Chelsea still? I really can't figure out how they lost to Southampton in a home game.

If Chelsea continue their winless streak, which has already reached 5 games, then I'm not sure that Potter will last even until the summer. They have an away game against Tottenham, then a home game against Leeds and a decisive game against Dortmund. My guess is that if Chelsea don't get 7 points in these games (where 3 will be in the game against Dortmund) then Potter's time will expire.

If you remember how Roman Abramovich was still the owner of Chelsea he doesn't care who is the coach, when defeat continues it will be fired  
Luckily at this time the owner of Chelsea is Todd Boehly he still gave a chance at least until the end of the season, I guess.
Chelsea is one of the teams that spends the most money this season unfortunately their performance has never improved.

I saw that. WTF was wrong with this coach. Azpi's position has been changed since potter's era. This is my first time to see that. The incident that happened with azpilicueta has been touching my heart. That incident may trigger ban for overhead kick.
I just wanna know what's the condition of azpilicueta. that's very sad to see that his head got kicked. Sarri's era is far better than this one. The potter era has become the end of chelsea.

A disaster for Chelsea and I also think the coach has to go, something has to change. They have only won 1 game of the last 10 and now they lost against the last in the Premier League, they should be handle now. Coach Potter should make the Place free for a Chelsea legend. Frank Lampard or John Terry, that would be something nice. Terry already works for Chelsea in the youth center. Lampard was a coach until 2021 and is currently without a club.

Ever since the club was sold to the new owners, everything has gone wrong there and the choice of coach wasn't good. I also think they should get a new coach, but more someone like Zidane. During the week they actually played well against Dortmund in the CL, if they had played the same way today, they should have won. It's a shame where Chelsea is now….  


But what pleases me is that Arsenal won in added time and City lost points, hope is still there!

It is becoming clearer that Graham Potter does not have the experience to handle a big club like Chelsea FC. The the new signings are  supposed to be giving positive results but up till now the team has only managed 2 points in 3 games which is very poor especially with the amount of money invested in the January window. If Roman Abramovich was still the owner, Potter would be out the door by now.

It was indeed a very hard kick even though there was no intentional element but it was truly horror and indeed it is possible that such a ban could occur even though this is indeed only a small possibility.

On the other hand, seeing the current conditions, this is clearly very hard to believe because indeed with the current condition of the players they should be able to do their best with their new players and of course it's expensive but they can't do it.
The end of the season may also be the end for Potter at Chelsea if things like this keep happening.

Yes, I was sure Newcastle would win too... But the funny thing is, as I've written before, Newcastle haven't lost 21 home games in a row and the last loss was to Liverpool... And today history repeated itself... Liverpool beat Newcastle away again... I was also surprised by Man City who couldn't beat Nottingham Forest...

The worst part was Pope got red card instantly and I dont think I can recall when was the last time a goalkeeper got a red card in EPL. Pope has been doing pretty well so far and funny thing about this is that I was expecting Liverpool to score alot more goals after the red card but Newcastle decided to just defend all the way until the final whistle

Arsenal where really close to loosing it today but, we saw them spring bak up at the last minute whe it mattered to reaffirm there stands in the league and on there fans who still believe they could do it.
It was such a turn of events for Arsenal and the mighty Martinez gets to score an own goal. I hear pundits stating that, the goal shouldn't have been given because of the two Arsenal players in an offside position, obstructing the goalkeeper's view... that would have been some terrible decision if the goal wasn't given. Foot ball has got just so much rules and it's good Arsenal had the better of that today.

Manchester City was the lost disappointed today as, they lose yet another chance to press harder on Arsenal for points. They did there best to score but, just weren't able. I'll sa its hard luck from the number of balls to the post that just didn't make it in.

The victory over Aston Villa made Arsenal end the poor results obtained in the last three matches, this victory was very important for Arsenal to maintain the opportunity to maintain its position at the top of the standings. This match was very crucial, when people thought the match would end in a draw, Arsenal actually managed to score two goals in extra time which made the match 2-4 and they also managed to bring home three points at Villa Park.

Arsenal have no other choice but to win at home to Aston Villa so they can return to the top of the Premier League standings and fight for the trophy this season. Because Manchester City has continued to show consistency this season for the Premier League trophy as well, so Arsenal must really watch out for this even though the Arsenal team had realized this long ago. But for today's match, the best option for Arsenal is to win, nothing else.

By that logic they didn't have choice to lose to City neither, but they did, nor had any choice on previous games they lost points on, in every one of them they needed a win to stay, but most importantly they had to win against City, but they lost.

This is why I would say that just because you have to win a game, doesn't mean you are going to win it, there is a good chance you could end up losing that game even when you need a win that much. This means that we should be considering the situation as risky as it gets and not bet on Arsenal easily. I will still bet on them to win, but I will bet a smaller amount and not risk a big chunk of my bankroll on this game.

Today's match day results does not really surprised me.  Even when arsenal was trailing with one goal I still had hope that they would turn things around and they did. I didn't expect much from Chelsea because their poor form.   I didn't see a Manchester city draw but that's football. The only surprised game for me it's Newcastle vs Liverpool. Newcastle has been really good and has only lost a game this season and based on Liverpool's poor form I thought they would beat Liverpool at home or worst comes to worst a draw but I was wrong.

this week's match really gave birth to a lot of surprises back in the premier league. And the most surprising thing was Man City who were held to a draw by Nottingham Forest. Because with so many opportunities created by Man City players. However, there are still many that cannot be utilized optimally and end up in vain. Nottingham forest continues to focus on making a solid defense. But I think Nottingham really had luck in this game. because actually Man City has many golden opportunities in this match. However, it was not used properly.
