I think that you shall also try to take a look at the performance of liverpool. If you are making it into the trend line and then it's always going up. The performance from liverpool at the early season until the middle of the season was quite disappointed for its fans but liverpool was slowly giving a good results on its trend line. It's always increasing slowly and new player like nunez and gakpo can adapt to the club now. Don't you remember that some clubs were able to make miracle in the past like chelsea?
So many parties judged chelsea would be kicked out from UCL 2020/2021 but chelsea was surprisingly proven if it was worthy enough to be a winner.

It was the big defeat Manchester United have ever had in the Premier League, I watched the whole game and like you said hoping it will be a balanced match but still hoping for Liverpool to win, although never thought their 3 strikers would score two goals each and one goal scored by Firmino made them win with a landslide score, no player on Man United's side could lead his team-mates well, while still three goals behind, the hope of being able to provide resistance was still visible but Liverpool's fourth goal ended all hope. I was just a disaster that nobody expected. I remembered Jose Mourinho who would not allow his team to be scored go to that extent, even if he is on red card.

Liverpool gave Manchester united the trash of their life, just seem like the whole form and current winning spree that man United have had so far is just not real, having conceeded a whooping 7-0 in the hands of Liverpool that has been struggling to win games this season without even scoring a goal is really a huge disappointment, though I said it on before the match that Liverpool knows how to handle Manchester united and it has become obvious now, however I wasn't expecting this huge margin.
