With what I saw in the Brighton team I just concluded that Brighton played better football than Arsenal against Manchester City, they [Brighton] didn't let the players of City intimate them, it even made them [Brighton] to play their best. Brighton's performance was outstanding, they made City to be restless and even making mistakes. Next season would be tough for the current champions of the EPL   and Brighton will be a team to watch, never forget the Newcastle team too.

With the way the match between Manchester City and Brighton is going, Manchester City is really making an effort to outperform Arsenal. However, many believe Brighton will defeat Manchester City because they have the African Cup of Nations and the Champions League Final to play. Is comprehension a problem here? Did Brighton lose their match against Manchester City? When a match ends as a draw is always checked marked as green and not lost I believe because of the 1 point, I don't think your question was necessary in the first place or needed validation. Everyone knows they already did lift the trophy but you think they let Brighton draw because of that, perhaps you should rewatch the highlight with all the pressure Man City amount on Brighton.

If Brighton played an offensive match against Manchester City and qualify for the Europa Conference League with just a single point, will you call that a loss as well? Manchester City is good but the fact they draw Brighton and allow them to qualify for one of the European league is a well deserve celebration.

Manchester City is the Champion in England and now the play only for more points and goals. They dont give 100% i think. They still have two important games and every player should be fit for them. No one should get injured in a game like this, that would be disaster. On 03.06. the FA Cup final and on 10.06. the Champions League final are the most important games. Manchester City started the game pretty well against Brighton and they scored the first goal but against Haaland had an effect on the first goal of this game but after that, Brighton scored three goals!  
However, two goals were not accepted by the VAR but still, they had enough opportunity to score these goals and they had enough chance against a team like Manchester City which is really interesting for me.
I think if they play like this in the second half we can even see Brighton winning this game against Manchester City.

This is what happens when a team has already won the league and they have two finals to play. I said earlier that teams that have already won the league and have nothing to fight for don't take it as seriously as they used to before they won the league. It's not like they want to lose, but they just won't play as they used to.
In the case of Manchester City, they even need to rest their players and make sure they are physically and mentally ready for the finals ahead.

That being said, you have to give it to Brighton because of the way they played. They played like people that really needed the point. They had more goal attempts and more shots on goal than City, which is very impressive knowing the kind of team that City is. Brighton got a point out of the draw and that draw secured their Europa League spots. So Brighton will be playing in the Europa League next season.

Seriously, I thought Brighton would win that game because of the way they played in the first half. I could see Manchester City playing differently than usual because they have what they want, which is a place in the final. They are resting and waiting for Inter to give them back-to-back wins, but Brighton players gave me joy with their play. Even though Manchester City needs to rest and recover physically and mentally, that doesn't mean they should let Brighton win. Just because they have qualified for the final doesn't mean they should be concerned about losing other games.

It was clear from the start that they had qualified for the next season Europa league. They had huge goal difference compared to Aston Villa and Spurs who were also contesting for Europa league spot as well. What Brighton did yesterday was confirm their spot in Europa League next season. A job really well done by Roberto de Zerbi in his first season with Brighton.


On another note, there is a very heavy fixture between United and Chelsea about to happen today. For Chelsea, this might not change things much but for United they will confirm their CL spot next season if they wins or draw in this fixture. On other hand, Liverpool will be hoping for Chelsea to win as a win would still make CL hopes alive for Liverpool. It is going to be at United's home and form wise United are in better shape and form so certainly they will be the favorites but I also wouldn't rule Chelsea out here.

You had a good strategy on this game and even if I didn't watch the game, it was kinda normal for Brighton to actually care for this game and put up a fight in order to get some points and a draw is more than enough for them.

City ...didn't risk at all in my opinion and they chose to preserve themselves and be ready for the final against Inter because an injury right now , would basically mean a lot and even if Pep has a lot of golden reserves on the bench , he wants his prime 11 to be ready for the final. Also , Inter are well known for having rough games and play dirty sometimes.

I don't expect Manchester City to win this match. This match was not important for City. They became champions of the Premier League. And so now their aim is not to beat Inter Milan in the Champions League. This is why the match against Brighton can be considered a friendly match. Actually I expected Brighton to win against Manchester city like getting a surprise but Brighton being able to draw the final score was very good for me because from the start the match Brighton was more aggressive with high self-confidence.

Zerbi was a key why brighton was able playing even better compared with arsenal. that's why brighton deserves to be qualified for europa league caused by the performance from brighton with de zerbi is unbelievable.

In my opinion if manchester city was not playing seriously against brighton. It's not yet using the full squads since the beginning of the match. I still try to put a lot of respect for brighton caused by with the limited squads it was able going comeback and make a surprise to be qualified for the europa league.
