Looking at Aston Villa, this has been a very bad start for them as they were defeated 4-0 by Brighton. But considering the squad they have and their weak defense, I think it's understandable that they lost this match. None of their strikers made a difference, even Garnacho didn't play very well.

Based on this result, I'm somewhat doubtful that they can perform very well this season, especially in the Champions League.

Aston villa may not be able to go far this season because this performance shows that the team has loss form. There current form last season is far better than this season. Though this is still there first match and they maybe able to learn from their mistakes and make some corrections. Aston villa losing to Brighton shows that the team is already out of form unlike last season that they were very hot.

I really wanted Rashford to do something special in UTD game so I can come here and tell you to give him a chance that he could do better now that he has been accepted to play with the main team but you guys (Manchester United) failed to impress the fans just as Spurs did.
I had that same thinking after winning their preseason games I was happy that they are back to take their place as one of the contenders in the EPL but up to this moment it doesn't feel like Tottenham are moving forward. Is there something holding them back or are the players tired of playing for the club? No wonder Romero left the club for ATM.
There is still time for De Zerbi to make something happen for Spurs if nothing is being done then it official that the club is cursed because I don't seem to understand after that spendings they still couldn't convince the fans that they are back to winning ways. Brentford played like Tottenham back then when they had Kane and Son but ever since these two players left it has been upside down for the club, it will be really hard to trust Tottenham this season.

Romero also wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur badly, I don't think I know why, but he committed too many unnecessary errors and got too many bookings as a result of his aggressions and lack of awareness. Hopefully he find himself back to a good form with Atlético Madrid. Roberto De Zerbi will most definitely work on the errors, I'm looking forward towards the next fixture.

The romero thing though. The aggression thing. I have stood up for him on this for years and years and years and I will continue to do so. Just ponder what it was that that backline was doing under spurs. High line and everyone went forward, midfielders not tracking back well. Every single time the ball went over the top romero's basically alone in a field chasing someone down. And the options are foul, or watch them score.

The real tragedy was not the fact that romero had left, but it was the TIMING. Sold one week prior to the season. New center back pairing that had never played together, not even in a friendly. And de zerbi sends four new boys out against brentford and questions how it looked like they were trying to play real time chess with strangers.

I gave this early predictions even before the game started and it turned out to be that way.

The penalty for Liverpool at the last minute put an adhesive strip over an absolutely disgusting performance from Liverpool. Liverpool did not deserve to walk away with a point from that game.

Man City were too lucky to win there opening game against Bournemouth. This victory reminds me of Argentina victory over Egypt in recent world cup. Egypt were leading 2-0 till 78th minute of the game, Argentina scored 3 goals in last 15 minutes to seal the victory. Likewise Man City scored 2 goals in last ten minutes of the game to record their first victory of the season. This defeat is because of Bournemouth poor defence towards the end of the game and highlights how important your defence is even if you are close to victory.

It was a poor delivery from Manchester City, I can't tell if they deserve to win because it was a miracle for them to win today, overall performance no todays gam don't deserve a good rating, not the actual way for them to compete against Arsenal, who are defending their title.

Bournemouth were impressive, they did everything right except defend an early lead that supposedly should have given them the victory. Today's result does not make me see less of Bournemouth, I still regard them as one of the tough clubs to play in the Premier League.

Liverpool was lucky today because it was a narrow escape from losing all three points as the dying minutes goal came through a penalty kick and Szobozolai didn't waste time to score the penalty kick to save the day. Newcastle put up a good fight today and they got all the chances of winning the game but they allowed it slip off their hands. However, they both deserve sharing points. The game ended 2-2 draw.

Luck won't keep saving Liverpool, we saw it from today's game, they were a minute away from throwing away all three points.

They started the game without Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins, so it's easy to excuse them. I don't want to believe that the performance we witnessed from Aston Villa against Brighton is what we'll be seeing oftenly this season. For Alejandro Garnacho, he didn't start the game and was introduced in the last 5 minutes of normal time. You don't expect him to magically turn the result. Unai Emery knows how to get the best out of his men so I believe he'll do better.

Aston Villa already made things difficult for themselves by selling most of their key players so we will be seeing them suffering more defeat just as this one of Brighton. Aston Villa must be so stupid for not making their squad become formidable by signing more players since they will be playing in the Champions League, instead they sold the ones that could have helped them continue with same form they had last season. Unai Emery should better resign before the team will begin to blame him for their misfortune. He tried by winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions league game, he has done enough and instead of him to continue it will be better he walks out. This is same thing that happened to Xabi Alonso after he won the Bundesliga for Bayern Leverkusen only for them to sell their important players in the next season which made them to drop in form till date.

I think we really need to start giving Brighton the much needed credit they deserved, we always come up with the excuses that it’s the managers that made them such from potter to De Zerbi to now, all have come and gone and the club still remains competitive, rather it’s the managers that actually suffered in their later jobs this means the success of this club is tied to how they are run and sincerely they are most definitely run properly because they always get a way to sign the next best youngster very early.

As for this game if anyone is too surprised then they haven’t pay attention to both clubs because coming to this match Aston Villa were without most of their talismen and this will disrupts just any team in the world and that’s where Brighton took hold of the situation. This isn’t their first heavy start to the season like this. Hopefully they end up so well from this by the end of the season

So far this season, I think the only team that can challenge Arsenal for the premier league tittle again is Manchester City. Manchester united are not ready, Totheham are not ready, Liverpool are not even ready, I don't know if Chelsea  are ready because I haven't watched them play recently, I didn't follow them up in their preseason friendly matches, maybe they might be good but contending for the tittle, I don't see that happening this season,  maybe next season or upper one will be when they might have blended well together to be able to cause damage to teams like Arsenal and Manchester City.

Arsenal will still retain the League hundred percent, and there is not double about that  because they have started on a good note, winning 3- nil, and that's how they will continue till the season ends, ni dropping of unnecessary points like they did last season because their squad depth now is really massive.

What a pay day for you. Doing a correct score prediction is once of most difficult thing. Nice you did it.

Other than it, let give Iraola time to fix his team's problem. I see them still lacking of confidence when they come to the final third. I also iraola explained it well on their post match club. Assuming they won't compete for the premier league is just too early when we're still at the 1st week of match day.

However, i see Arsenal is winning the title again consider no big clubs really give me confidence with the way they played.

As for Chelsea, they shall have taken their game against so easily consider the gap in the squad owned both of clubs. However, a lesser expectation to xabi's squad is better because this is also his 1st premier league game.

There is obviously zero exaggeration about their performance today, it was indeed that bad. They might want to put it on the red card, considering the fact that they were playing a man down but, conceding over 4 goals without any reply and didn’t even manage to put enough pressure on Brighton to at least look like a threat, that was one hell of a poor performance from them today.

As for Manchester City, it was indeed a close one for them, Maresca is obviously going to pull this team to the dirt.

So it was a die minute escape for them. Liverpool could do better in their next game, maybe they couldn't beat Newcastle because they were away. Let us see if they will perform well when they play at home.

Aston villa are still having a long journey ahead of them if their intentions is to make any progressive outing afterwards. 4 goals to none conceded to the Brighton side is the worst outing they’ve recorded already in this season for any club who is serious to move forward in this season. A four goals to none is somewhat a significant number of goals conceded and besides, they even had an own goals scored in the first few minutes of the game and i am aware rules governing the club and how r the also need to arise in Nigeria security.

When a club has sold the only player who was making their attacking midfield strong do you think they would be doing better than before?, so actually is time for them to see why some players are unique from the rest because Morgan Rogers is that players but they have lost him and this is the effects. Brighton that was easy for them last season has become strong to win them 4:0 with a clean sheet, it started with an own goal against Aston Villa before more goals started coming, it didn't seem like Aston Villa on the pitch, is unfortunate that instead of scoring a goal they got red card that would further make it worst for them.

The Manchester City vs. Bournemouth match was very tense, in my opinion. In that match, Manchester City always failed to score a goal at first. Finally, in the first half, Manchester City couldn't score, while Bournemouth managed to score a goal against Manchester City through Marcus. I chose Manchester City to win during the tense bet because I thought Manchester City would lose because Manchester City hadn't scored even in the 80th minute. Fortunately, Guehi scored in the 84th minute, finally making it a draw.

And fortunately, Gvardiol scored a goal in the 90th minute, and finally Manchester City was able to win the match. Finally, I was able to win when betting on that match and finally I made a profit. I didn't find it unusual for Aston Villa to concede 4 goals because Brighton's performance was much better and more aggressive than theirs, which is why they conceded 4 in the first half. Brighton kept Villa under pressure throughout the match. On top of that, Joao Gomes' red card made the situation worse. However, it would be too early to judge the entire season based on this match, but I think the cause of concern for Villa is not the result but the big changes in the squad.

On the other hand, United, Hull got promoted few days ago, could not create an effective attack despite having 72% of the ball possession and had to concede 2 goals. So I don't want to call Manchester United's 2-0 loss to Hull City an accident, it may be a new experiment by the coach. However, to be honest, predicting which team will win this PL season at the beginning is becoming unpredictable.

On a serious note, Liverpool don't deserve a draw in this game. My take from the match is that Araujo is better than Jacquet. He should start as the first choice. In addition, switch Florain Wirtz back to the RW and Rio to the LW, where he belongs.

Other than it City against Bournemouth. 1.53 for City to win clearly make no sense. They have a better squad on paper compared to the Bournemouth, but their manager is the guy who often did stupid things. So i find it's gonna be a tough game to beat Bournemouth in home game.

Those stupid decisions he made back in Chelsea where from the Management's directions and not solely from him. Isn't it obvious? How can you be looking for a win and you are heavily rotating players, that's just plainly stupid. But we all saw how it played out, when he got tired of the too much interference with his job, he left.

Man City 1-0 down against Bournemouth too. Obviously City can still mount a comeback but it looks very blunt, post Guardiola era. 

They had the comeback, but Manchester City did not look promising at all. They struggled most of the game and would have easily lost this game. There is a lot of work to be done in that team, the supporters do not need to be excited by this win.

I feel why he thinks Man city didn’t perform well was because of Man city’s pedigree, for countless seasons now Man City has had some form of dominance in the EPL under Pep Guardiola so coming to win from 1:0 lead in the first half against Bournemouth that is a far smaller team is really a bit worrisome, a lot of fans expected far more, they felt that the match would have ended probably 3:0 in favor of Man city, the way they struggled in the match wasn’t encouraging at all for a team of such class, a lot of fans already lost hope thinking that the best they will get in the match was a draw but surprisingly they won 2:1, the outcome we are getting in this opening EPL matches shows that this season will be very competitive in the EPL.

Well, this is football, a little slip up can make you concede a goal. But if you don't sit up after that, then you're not up to the task.

Manchester City clearly dominated the game as usual, and they won it too. Honestly, there is nothing to frown at, they delivered despite conceding a first half goal. Fans being disappointed in their performance is funny because the stats, the result, and the game play are all telling a different story.

Aston villa sold most of their players especially now Watkins. This is a huge hit for them because now they are missing a striker and this is a problem for them. Aston Villa dosent look like the team from the last of the season and this aint good for them at all. Aston villa didnt get any transfers that can make a difference and in this season that can cause problems.

My concern is the way Aston Villa played, as if they never had the chance of playing against much stronger clubs from outside England, against PSG alone should be an eye opener like they should have been aggressive in their next game even if they lost to the Ligue 1 giant, now they season have started and they have already laid down their fighting swords against Brighton that doesn't have much in them when the season becomes tough, at least we can say Aston Villa was better than Brighton last campaign.
The players they sold should have been replaced, Watkins is another player that find it hard to score, for me he had a bad season which I can't see him as someone to be missed in the squad but that doesn't stop them from changing how they played, after all they did well against PSG without the other players they sold. Let us see what happened this week as a little error until next week because we have teams that have not realized that the next campaign has started, the second game will tell if they are all ready to play but if not the smaller teams will continue to cause more upset.

GW1 and already a lot of shocks have happened. Arsenal made a statement in their game against Coventry, while City got a last-minute win thanks to Gvardiol. They were better for most of the game but were struggling to finish it off. We will see if that was just the first game of the season or if we will see something different from them this year. Worth mentioning are Brentford's 3:0 victory and Brighton's 4:0 win — I definitely didn't see those coming.

I was lucky to get this correctly and the other game in the Spanish La Liga.  Gratitude! Although, I didn't get to win from it.

I'm not amongst those football fans expectant and pressuring AI to get a quick result. If he can make Bournemouth competitive like he did over the past seasons, then he can do just the same with Liverpool if he raise his standards and match up with the demands of the club.
I'm a Manchester united fan but I have said this a billion times, most likely to even compete with Arsenal will be Chelsea, not Manchester United not Manchester City not even Liverpool.

High expectations, with Xabi Alonso a more experienced manager who has previously played in the Premier League Competition, he should adapt immediately. He wants to impress the Chelsea management.
