Okay I'll drink some of the BTC kool-aid.
NYSE is now in for $100+ million (round 1 or many) Coinbase 'regulator' thing means financial institutions can trade (hedge) bitcoin. Fiat is a mess (unlimited) BTC is 13m units (plus 3600/day), and the boys in finance can do some fancy math. They have armies of Ph.D / Physics brains. Wall Street Journal is Hyping btc ... to the money class. Davos. Bill Gates.
BTC is at a low.
It doesn't take much to cause panic buyins and launch BTC above the $1300 bar then it goes nutty.
But this is just kicking the can (for a year or so). Reality will settle back in and BTC will consistently bleedout capital. The race back down will be insanity.
I'd rather not play poker with Billionaries. And it is easy to read the next play.
Another round of BTC bull run will double or triple the SHA network hash power. The market (exchanges) and side services will expand even more. Improve even more.
And while the general public is all punch drunk on $5000 btc, the big money will swap out for the solid alts.
Three coins in the SHA network have solid fundamentals. Ix, Uno, and Zeta. The big dogs will swoop in overnight with $5000 btc coins and gain 50% shares or more (if they can get it they will take it all).
We are entering a whole new realm. They will shakeout the alts, only to buy them up.
Wallstreet isn't coming to bitcointalk and the ETF goes not live soon. The kool-aid is the hype. And when they come they will not buy bitcoin but their own coins, why else would they invest in infrastucture only and not in the coin? I don't believe in the fairy tale of wallstreet that comes in to save bitcoin. Will bitcoin be dead when they don't come to buy it? Certainly looks like it. Bitcoin would have been better off not being a whore toy for wallstreet. But the greed, the greed. Now they don't buy it and bitcoin has an image problem. (They will say bitcoin is unamerican. It's the silkroad-token of the libertarians. Why would they buy it? Not without an ETF anyways. And with current market only for the pumps and dumps.) The winks talk bagholder-talk: http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/27/investing/bitcoin-winklevoss-twins-gold/ "The twins believe such an ETF would appeal to gold bugs because Bitcoin, just like gold, can be used as a hedge against inflation. They say Bitcoin is more durable, divisible and affordable than the yellow metal."*cough, cough* When's the UNO ETF coming?

"toy for wallstreet"
I think you just NAILED IT!
They will pump and dump BTC on round 2, and then when everyone is crying their eyes out.
"Hey did you know you can now buy Pepsi Coin?" "Would you like to purchase some Starbucks digital bucks?"
'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.'

Will be interesting to see what's going to happen. Right now it certainly can't be priced in.

Me here. Super hot here in W.A.. Great reading morning.
And:
BTC $300-$170 depending on the hysteria sync $50 .... no volume DVC $35 --- attracts premium prices. Held its value 100% during recent Bitcoin craziness. M $5 ..... too young to know the real capital value (also stakes so securish) Master $3.50ish ... very low volume for the amount of market capital (also NO network it is a website ledger thus not real crypto) CP $2ish... same as Master but with more market capital and fair volume. UNO $2.50+ ... solid network, mature coin and community LTC $2ish... inflationary is and understatement but running at 'the silver to btc gold' status Dark $1.50ish... we'll see, still inflationary unless you think $50k/month to cover the mining is no problem Clams $1ish ... still not sure what the network is ... but backed by 'dice' gambling. One to watch. YB $1ish ... can you read chinese? No English website. Copy of Ya coin, notoriously bad copy of it too. btcD $1ish ... jl777 version of a Nubit backed by the 'SuperNet' revenue. Too young. Nu SOLID BUCK plus minus a few pennies ... pegged to 1$ Pay $20-$1 ... under SEC investigation (staking coin)

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from crypto.cat (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
Also, Chrome put a red line through the "https" part and a red "x" over the lock icon just before the "https" part. Made me a bit wary; decided to not take any chances.

I had put http. Correct is https://crypto.catActually, if you have Chrome or Firefox browsers, just add the CryptoCat app and you're good to go. If I'm not immediately active its because I had to get up for more wine. Don't worry, I only drink the cheap stuff so there's money to buy Uno.

Clicking that https link directly gives the same error in Chrome! Ok, so I'm adding it now as a Chrome app. As to the wine thing, doggone it, I was planning on hitting the hay early tonight without the usual bottle of Korbel Brut behind me this time of night, totally abstemious from that decent-tasting (but evil!) champagne. But that CryptoCat app has spent at least 15 minutes so far "encrypting" (with a whole bunch of kinda interesting cat-fact trivia). So I decided to honor my resolution -- and instead poured myself a small shot of vodka. That Cat better quit "encrypting" soon ... Update: she never quit encrypting, so I finally gave up.

@Z 1. backup the good wallet (x3) sure to be sure 2. go to new "downloaded the Unobtanium storage vault" APPDATA/ROAMING 3. del or rename that wallet.dat (nothing on that one right?) 4. copy paste in the good wallet as wallet.dat 5. load UNO wallet see if the UNO shows up. There are other ways to 'import'. Best wait until someone publishes a better How2 if you have any doubt. Just a layman on the tech stuff so caution if you still have questions. We need a good How2 in the 'Tech Thread'. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=856162@The Frisian Isn't there a change password in the menu 'settings'? You can also do a change password in the console ... type 'help' and it shows the list of commands. Again Caution, if you still have questions wait for a better brain to say How2. Thanks, I'll give it a try. I had removed UNO from my other dat, the one backed up. But, before removing my UNO from Cryptsy, I want to make sure I have this backup thing down. It would be great to have a good How2. Z

Latest arrival from https://www.coaex.comGet some UNO Store some UNO Trade some UNO Spend some UNO Give some UNO Get more UNO In my opinion it is not the smartest thing to buy silver with UNOs these days. UNO is way more scarce than Silver which is plentiful.

Yeah, a purchase like this could be like buying 10,000.00000000 BTC pizzas. I hope that guy replenished the BTC he spent. I've already replenished the UNO spent (and then some at these prices).

Thanks for indulging my experiment with Cryptocat encrypted chat, especially those who tried but couldn't quite get in. Jelks & IMZ, sorry we missed you. A few of you made it into Cryptocat Unobtanium chat room, only then to be disappointed with how boring it is to chat with me. Bitcoin Charlie especially learned the hard way. I learned that Chrome worked well on Cryptocat. I just installed the free app from the Chrome store and then it appeared on the toolbar. Clicked the toolbar and then I was in. Firefox was tricky because of an extra step involved. After installing the Cryptocat add-in from https://crypto.cat, I then had to place the cryptocat icon on the Firefox menu bar. To accomplish this in Windows 7, I had to right click just to the right of the Firefox Url bar, enable Menu Bar, and then also select Customize. From the Customize menu, I dragged the Cryptocat icon and dropped it on the menu bar, where it now sits and works perfectly. Now when I want to start Cryptocat, I just click on the icon in the menu bar. It's easier than it sounds, once you know the secret. IE... It doesn't appear to work with IE. Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera work with it. I'll stay logged in today. I might not be around all day staring at, but if you want to just get closure on installing Crypto.cat and should you finally make it to the chat room, at least you'll see someone else logged in.

I use Firefox and it was confusing b/c I installed the plug-in, but it seemed that nothing happened. Then, I accidently activated the menu and saw that CyrptoCat appears now as an option under the Tools menu option. Click it and your are off! It did not take very long to create the keys. Enjoyed my chat with FK!

Well are we moving to Cryptocat?
Nice option to have ... especially later.
Also it dawned on me that we should start using CCtalk more for sub threads. We can manage sub-topics much easier there.
E.g. "How to Backup Wallet", "UNO Ex changes", what ever ... the different content management system there and much easier than bct threads since you get the menu within the UNO section.
Still this here bct thread is the best solution for a 'running' dialogue ... so let's not change that anytime soon.
So for static information >> CCtalk And for pow-wows >> maybe this Cryptocat

Why do my low buy orders keep filling? *Spikes football; does touchdown dance I had an associate ask recently, "how much is enough UNO?" I borrowed from JP Morgan and told her "the answer is always the same, just one UNO more!"
