Zpool has merge mining offline for issues with their stratum server.  Mmool is has all merge mining offline for issues with the new Bitcoin core.  Syscoin pool seems to have dropped Bitcoin from merge mining, but still is merge mining UNO and all of the other coins.

Putting a bit a hash on UNO now... seems to be going well.

Happy Friday, UNOverse ~ !

I've been out awhile.  Vacation and all.  Wife and I took a roadtrip up to Seattle, Wa.  Spent some time with family and old friends.  Had a great 4th of July!  I have not kept up with the threads here.  But, I hope everyone is doing well.  And, that there has not been too much drama.  

Re. drama.  The account that I am on (Initials UB - counted among our enemies, in general, in the cryptosphere, e.g. Chase Bank, i.e. CB) decided not to renew their contract with my company's (A Fortune 500 Company) Project Management and Project Finance Teams - impacting 13 people - including, yours truly (A PM Team Member; The Project Coordinator of the MY COMPANY UB Account, to be precise).  We were so informed this past Tuesday.  All of our projects are to be transitioned to the competing company (Yet another Fortune 500 Company) in 30, 60, 90 day tranches... and all of us are scrambling to assemble our resumes and bios for reassignment w/in current company, or placement with the company that won the contract, or else, severance.  The company that won the contract has asked me to submit my resume ASAP (A bird in the hand... I was informed by the competing company team lead). I feel rushed, because this may be an opportunity to remain with my present company and work on a new account.  But then again, if I decline the (presumed) offer and my present company doesn't have a position for me - severance and no job ... Pressure!  Stress!  Drama!

Sux.

'Bitsquare is open to add any altcoin which requests to get added to the supported crypto currencies. Adding does not mean any endorsement and as long as it is not a clear scam coin we accept any coin which fulfills our requirements as defined below.

Please note that we cannot add all available coins by default as it comes with some effort for us (input verification for the coin address, add search option if the list gets too long, do basic checks if it is not a clear scam,...).
Beside that it would be pointless to add coins which never get used for trades because they are not actively maintained or used anymore.

Here is a basic rule set to make the process and requirements transparent:

If the altcoin has a market cap or trading volume in the top 10 range we might add it without further requirements.
If we think that an altcoin has some outstanding novelty or properties we want to support we might add it without further requirements.
Other altcoins need to fulfill the following requirements:

The requesting person needs to be associated with the official coin (use an email address indicating that you are from the team)
They need to add Bitsquare as official exchange to their webpage.
There need to be an active block explorer available.
They need to send an example address of the altcoin.
The ticker symbol does not conflict with any Fiat symbol (Check here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_421727).
The requirements to add the coin does not cause extra effort for Bitsquare like adding additional input fields (e.g. if the addresss alone is not sufficient for the trade).
They need to provide the rules for validating a correct altcoin address. Input verification for the coin address will be added soon and we would need to get the specifics of a altcoin delivered from those who are interested that it get added (if the one who want to add a coin is not a developer he needs to request those information form the altcoin developers - Bitsquare will not do that task). A pull request with actual code contribution is preferred over pure text based information.
There need to be some trading activity. If for a period of 2 months no trade activity is visible that coin might get removed again.
If a coin represents political values which are diametral to Bitsquare's values we reject it (e.g. fascistic, racist,...)'

The tragedy of crypto is that one must seek below the Top100 to discover solid capital.   Even BTC is still a balloon filled with air/error.   UNO is generations ahead.  If you seek to preserve value, then you only need hold one.

It is cool to see some willing participants! I saw on bittrex that i snagged some cheapish Unos and figured i would redistribute a little bit is all. Just sending them out right from my trex wallet, i wouldn't feel right taking anything into that but certainly appreciate the offer!

As-long as none of us loose faith and keep spreading the word to all of those who we know and trust us this will happen. As of now distribution and advertisement are probably the only two things still holding uno back. We need more Sheeple adopting the currency and more awareness. The coin itself is perfect. If anyone can think of good ways to spread the word (Other then through the usual alt-coin routes that would be great.)

Just think about it 7 billion people on earth. We literally need ONLY 200k. Literally one small city out of hundreds of thousands of them to own 1 uno each, that is literally a drop in the bucket! It's time we all start spreading the word. I'll try doing the same.

No. They are different things. Bitsquare’s point is clear to me: by adopting, for example, ‘DecentAryanFolkOnly Coin,’ they would be seen to endorse DAF Coin’s values. This takes us straight back to the past conflicts of this community: does a quasi-commercial enterprise like developing a crypto require any conformity with the values of its potential adoptees? IMHO: yes. Misogyny comes immediately to mind. Half the people in the world are girl people. So not providing a clearly anti-misogynist environment for them just seems counterproductive.

To be Frank I don't care.  

UNO is one of, and possibly, the best intial distro, ever.  This is not hyperbole.  See the history of crypto from BTC to LTC to ETH to Zeta.  

Next, check the numbers, https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/#!rich

UNO is dominantly distributed to the 11-100 addresses.  Not the Top10.  And for such a small capital coin this speaks volumes.

Personally I'd love to see an egalitarian coin with 90% held by those under Top10000.  I have yet not seen this.  Even with airdrops, the lions share seems to be picked off by the Top 10 accounts.  Again UNO is more diverse than most, but still steered by the Top100.  

With current participation numbers this is still fair, and evidence of this is UNO trade, we have constantly dealt with whales attempting to manipulate the market (as is true with any market traded asset), but in the long game their influence is dwindling.  And the current market temperature seems to be ... let it go as low as it can.  And I think this collective consensus is cool, ice cold cool, most coins stack the books to create the illusion of vast support.  While UNO has opened the door for new participants to get a position at undervalue rates.  

Note: Verns share which is a significant number is likely to be broken up and distributed also.

RE: Giveaway distribution.


I think in general giveaways are erroneous.  But providing incentive for new participants to join in the conversation is worth exploring again.  So bring out the helicopter.  I would suggest a rule be that you must demonstrate having an active UNO wallet for +6months, thus a quid quo pro

slightly contradicting ... Getting the funds together to make UNO tip-able on Cryptopia is a worth while cause.  
- Because it is fun.
- It adds value, even if the function is seldom used.
- appeases distribution critics ... Cryptopia has a very wide and diverse user base ... and we can likely afford to throw a un-penny to them all.

1.  Mass Adoption

I don't think UNO is built for mass adoption, but we should strive to market it, and maintain presences that it is a superior product for value storage.

But I am currently exploring the possibility of backing a microcoin with UNO.  Hence UNO provides a floor value, and there is literally enough coins for every one to have some.  Thus UNO can be both rare and abundant; both low inflation yet have a side chain with entropy feature.

2.  Best Adoption Method

a) friends and family ... sort of an Amway less the scammy
b) IMZ's Mall concept
c) Specific and Concentrated .. aka .. localized distribution

I would suggest a blend of ABC.  

UNO is market mature enough, and has assembled the requisite tools to float as a valid local currency.  We can handle quick mobile payment solutions, ebay web markets (which is of use only if local), and even instant payment solutions(3rd party).  Of interest ... http://bithappy.co.uk/

3.  MPA

UNO is at a floor value.  The timing is getting very right.  Underwriting UNO @ $2 is an option.  Also a localized experiment could have de facto roll backs / claws ... so that only local participants from the local coin pools can claim at the pegged $ rate... block chain tech makes monitoring this fuzzy solution possible.    

4.  Primary Case Use

UNO can try to be all things to all people.  But the prime utility of UNO is acting as a stable (non-inflationary) base pair.  This means market utility.  So the core user base is active traders and long term investors.  As an experiment we can have a secondary project that aims to launch a local currency use.
