Ige, but they also brought in some players.  Take a look at this...  They bought Manzabi for 60m GBP, Nicolas Jackson for 55m GBP, Mbaye for 55m GBP, Gomes for 40m GBP, Zion Suzuki for 30m GBP, Harwood Bellis for 29.2m GBP, Ruggeri for 25m GBP and Cisse for 5.5m GBP.

No idea who these guys are.  Lol.  Will take a look see later.  But yeah, it isn't like they sold their key players and did nothing with the money.

I'll explain how their market went with crypto; Aston Villa sold 3 bitcoins to buy 10 pieces of Solana - to those who didn't know who those players they brought in are, they'd think they had a good market but in reality it was the opposite.

They're in the Champions League, if anything I expected them to improve the squad from last season and not downgrade it the way they did..

The way things are looking for Aston Villa at the moment, I think Hull City should win the match. Unfortunately for Tottenham and De Zerbi, they will face the same predicament when they travel to away at Nottingham Forest. I am expecting both Aston Villa and Tottenham to lose their respective games, this is not the start that Emery and De Zerbi wanted.

I had too many drinks today and kept myself away from the forum - if I had seen your post earlier I'd have advice you against the Liverpool BTS pick - Ipswich are so ass and no way they're scoring.

Aston Villa needed more money to balance the books - they're selling premium and replaced them with some young prospects for the future - it's a huge gamble but it always work for them. Let's see if they can produce another Watkins and Rogers ..

I like the Chelsea and City picks more.

Now this is more refreshing to read. At least I understand that they had no choice but to sell Martinez, Morgan Rogers and the rest. The net wage per player must be so small considering how much they sold Martinez to Chelsea for--- £7.5 million? They breached twice recently so what do they stand to lose? Points or a fine is due?

From the above posted features, Liverpool have made it with a strong win without any fear or regret in the game to prove there consistency in this season's campaign,  what we should be talking about now is to see how Manchester United, Arsenal and even Manchester City could performance in there's because with the kind of result I saw in the Spanish la liga today I should be expecting an unpredictable results in tomorrow's game because the football i know is filled with surprises.

Damn...  I could only wish you saw my post earlier and given me advice against it.  Lol.  I put too much stock in Ipswich's two goals done against Man United.  And with Liverpool's tendency to get caught against the counter, I was pretty sure Ipswich could get one in at the time.  But no, they were slow and it gave Liverpool time.

Would be funny if it's Coventry that'll get one in.  Lol.  Hoping for a good game for Everton tho.

Sorry I didn't understand your first question so I'll answer the second one - Martinez was still under contract but he's been looking for a way out since last season; he has had 3 failed transfer before eventually moving to Chelsea, he earned 150k/w at Aston Villa so it was a good decision for both the club and Martinez. They got a younger gk and saved 100k/w on wages ( Zion earns 50k/w)

For the first time in many years I had faith in this team against Arsenal because I thought Alonso  was different but he wasn't.

Yes, the loss today doesn't reflect Xabi Alonso's work in Chelsea, i think he is doing a great job so far. Chelsea fans also have to consider that Alonso is just 3 matches into the job, while Arteta is currently the longest serving manager in the Premier League. So it is normal for Arsenal to have a better structure than any team in the league.

I can't really fault him for the two goals we conceded but someone has to the blame

if we are conceding too many goals it's still technically on the manager - it's his duty to set up a good system that makes it easy to defend against goals like a that. The first goal was Just like the one we conceded against Fulham - something I faulted Sanchez for and now Martinez still conceded the same goal.

Arsenal were the better team and deserved to win.

My advice to y'all non Chelsea fan still is, don't over think our fixtures just pick BTS and you're 90% safe - we always score and at the same time always let our opponents have the same scoring feelings..

No manager has been able to fix our defense since Tuchel left and we've had a couple of them. It's difficult to win games and be competitive with leaky defense.

Questionable and controversial calls you say? My bro are you sure we watched the same game.

The ref was decent, he didn't have many big decisions/calls to make, it was just like any other game. And in no world would Gabriel get a red card for that challenge on Martinez, yes he struck him, but it was a legitimate attempt to play the ball, neither was the force deemed to be dangerous.

It was a pretty bad week over here too. In gambling, the smartest choice is always found out in hindsight.
