In the new nominations accepted, the description of the current categories has been changed, and prizes will now be received by those who vote, not those who win. Changes have also been made to the voting system!

I didn't notice these innovations right away, because out of habit I didn't read and skipped the conditions at the beginning of the voting topic, relying on the fact that it would be like last year. What a surprise. This contest will now undoubtedly sparkle with new colors.

But the main feature is that votes without a detailed description will not be taken into account!

I like this innovation the most, because in previous votes I tried to describe, albeit briefly, the reason for who I was voting for. It will be interesting to read the opinions of others.

However, I think it would be better if you converted your thread into a discussion thread. For example, by removing the information that this is a translation and inserting a link to the main thread where it says "Eng" (I think this will be much better since the integrity of the navigation bar will not be broken and there will be a link to the original thread). 

Just a suggestion—this might encourage more bitcointalk members to vote. How about running a raffle where voters get a chance to win, let say $50 casino credit from sponsor something like that? $50 may not seem like much but it could be meaningful to someone who wins.

      How it works?

For 60 days, public voting will be open, in which any active user can take part. Any user has the right to conduct campaigning in a separate thread, specially created for this purpose. Who will be among the top three winners in each respective category depends only on your activity. Also this year the "vote power" rule will apply to votes cast for the 1st place winners in the 2023 BCA, such votes will be counted as 0.75 to 1 ➥ Note.

No offense please, I know that I am no eligible to vote due to my merits earned but for clarity sake knowing that this great event may keep on repeated maybe til further notice, permit me to ask and  to learn for reference and future purpose.
I needed to know the criterias of these nominees of it is based on their forum ranks or or possessions. Also, these nominees to be voted for, are they nominated by group of forum users, deliberately nominated themselves on this contest or knowingly and unknowingly anyone can be nominated and voted for?

Any user can be voted for, as long as someone thinks they are in the respective category and deserve their vote.
You can vote for yourself. It's not something that makes a lot of sense, but there's nothing stopping you from doing it.

I mean, you can like your own posts on social media nowadays, and vote for yourself in elections, so at worst it's just trolling, and you can't really change the outcome of the awards ceremony like that.

Isn't the period chosen for voting too long? It could have been done in 1 month. Or were 2 months specifically chosen so that we could enjoy this event? As soon as the vote counting didn't take 2 times longer (than the voting itself) due to the influx of voters. For obvious reasons.

Apparently people did not fully realize that 15% of all voters will receive from 150 to 200 dollars (depending on the number of participants, the % value and cash prize can increase to 20-25%).

I am one of those who do not realize it. It was necessary to highlight the text containing this information in the voting topic more noticeably.

I wish we could end the voting process today- this is a one time event of the year, IMO the 60 days voting time is enough to get every on board and also enough time for OP to give us another awesome event.

2. No merit sending is allowed from nominees to users which nominated them. This should improve dramatically the accuracy of results and offenders will have to support a penalty. For each merit sent, 1 vote is deducted. So for example, if in the voting topic Alice sent 5 merits to those who nominated her in any category, then we will not count these votes (but the rest of the votes that are addressed to other nominees will be taken into account). In addition, if a user voted for Alice in two categories, then the votes for each of the categories will be unaccounted for.

Is this rule still necessary? Since there is no money to be won by being nominated, there's no financial incentive to "buy" it through Merit.

I see many good posts that are worth reading, and thus deserve to be Merited.

Sorry for asking. I have been translating BCA 2024 as a part of AOBT and having a bit of difficulty understanding this specific line below. I understood the second half, but the first half is a bit confusing. I asked Gazeta before, and he told me to "reread that line." I did, but still I'm confused. I know it may sound dumb, but can you please explain a little?

I reread it many times, and it still has me puzzled. I can think of a few different interpretations, but all of them add more questions.

And 15% of 200 is 300.

I think you meant 15% of 200 is 30! Used an extra zero there mate! Anyway, I got what you meant, math solved. Though it would have been helpful if OP cleared it himself. As LoyceV said "the line is somewhat puzzling and users can interpret different meanings".

He sent me a PM to help translate this line, and I told him to ask OP. I was confused as well. So, it is not only him and me but some other people who might be confused as well. The explanation of Ambatman makes some sense. But since DS already posted here, he should wait for icopress and then complete his translation. 

I will suggest using some better wording in that line so everyone can understand. Or maybe add some explanation to make it easy for non-English speakers. Sometimes I use google to understand them, but you know how shitty google translator is.

There's some idiosyncrasies with the way tables are constructed using BBcode that prevent me from being enthusiastic about wanting to make them.    So yeah to trudge through the pain of getting a table just right is commendable. Let alone multiple tables in a single post.

Also, its good to have a reason for the forum to come together over something positive, in contrast to the neverending drama which can be fun to watch but is ultimately fruitless or harmful 90% of the time.

[2] The Halvening cards featuring bitcointalk users had a big impact on me personally. It is the first product I've created of its kind and enabled me to interact with a cool group of people in the collectibles area that I had not been very familiar with previously. While I don't expect to win any awards here, it was a lengthy process to get there and I'm happy the way they turned out, and excited to continue them (and more) in the future.

W-w-w-w-w-haaat??!  How did I miss that issue of a fantastic collectible (especially since I'm apparently the queen of spades)?  Actually I know exactly why I never saw it, but I'm disappointed that I did.  Sorry to stray somewhat off-topic, but I just wanted to thank ibminer for mentioning his thread and that it was an awesome idea.

Ah, another year of us playing slap-ass with each other and me not knowing who I'd even fit into which category.  Betcha my last satoshi I'm going to abstain once again.  Good luck to all of the awesome community members who deserve to be recognized, because there are a lot of them.

Thank you for the compliment, and thank you for helping to keep this place interesting!  I had a lot of fun doing these, and the non-custom deck options are still available up until April 20th of this year, 1 year after the halving.  

There were actually 14 decks created, not including some of the decks for customers who got their orders in before the halving... they had the option to pick their own custom user lists. All other decks were based on forum/BPIP stats/ranks, and all decks were digitally created on the actual day of halving. Everyone seemed pretty happy with them, so I'm definitely planning to do something similar for the next halving. Plus, I have some other ideas I'm hoping to make available before then also, so keep an eye out!

You actually made a few appearances throughout several of the decks:

• Q of spades in the Top 52 Most Recognized deck (all time)
• 9 of diamonds in the Top 52 Most Merit deck (all time)
• 2 of clubs in the Top 52 Most Trust deck (all time)
• Q of spades in the Most Merit users w/ registration dates between 2014-2015
• J of diamonds in the Most Merit users w/ registration dates between 2014-2018

Definitely many unsung heros on the forum, I may have went overboard on how many decks I created, but I wanted to make sure I had as many users represented as possible throughout various generations of users, in the most impartial way I could think of.
