I don't agree with anyone who said that binance or to be clear binance smart chain is a breakthrough, it's at most just alternative for eth to face the scalability issue because defi. There's nothing really special with it other than just its capability to scale. But everyone has the right or freedom to choose what ever they want, so whether eth users moving to bsc is not a problem and as you said eth will surely survive.

Binance doesn't really have a big community, Binance is big because it has BEP20 (BSC), without BSC Binance wouldn't have a big community and it's also impossible for the price of BNB to increase very high,

I don't think that many potential projects will be able to afford to be built on the Binance blockchain. I think projects with more fundamental ideas and technologies, such as Near Protocol, have a better chance.
