Dont know if it was mentioned before but i would love to see also maybe some tutorials how the Forum is working , would be informative and specially for new Users maybe helpful. Some Guides can be explained and also if possible to let them know that there some Rules , i dont mean that there should be a documentary done on everything , just a little content about the Forum and how it works . Just an Idea for a episode .
Yep, videos like that should be a must. As a matter of fact, some time ago @Steamtyme made several videos for newbies, covering stuff from how to get started and create an account to some basics about trust system, that somehow got forgotten. And a spoken bitcointalk Welcome Message !!! And if it is not too much to ask, a fansign with or without the bikini.

UPDATES Great info from everyone so far thank you! Here's the current plan and progress: Hired a company to film and edit. Production value aimed: very high! First filming day will be really soon, so the first few episodes will be prerecorded and released when ready. This whole thing an experiment, so content and format will likely evolve over time, as long as there's interest for it. Likely themes for the first few episodes feature the BitcoinTalk Anniversary, Community Awards 2020, etc. In time we'll start doing educational material as well, such as forum guides and news bits. Also interviews!
LINKS Coming soon!
Wow great initiative, since its already decided about the plot and what we going to have for the first few episodes, I'm excitedly waiting for the videos now. It is true, like me many of us spend more time on YouTube and these days people like go to YouTube first before going to Google. Let be any thing from making Italian Pasta or buying Bitcoin or installing bitcoin wallet people prefer to watch and see how practically it works. I'm sure with great resources people around Bitcointalk Youtube would be great in spreading more awareness among new comers. I would love to see some episodes dedicated to Satoshi and Hal Finney (we can discuss about the posts made by these legends, keeping the privacy intact). Some episode discussing events like HODL, Bitcoin PizzaDay and last but not the least memes please. and please one episode dedicated to our loved "Wall Observer" please.

It was suggested that the focus on local boards and translations accompanied by them, I do not think it is difficult to do so as many active people here and who are ready to do a free translation. The most important is the content, simplicity and interaction with the audit on the content because a lot of bitcoin-content information are either faltering or incorrect especially in local languages.

I would love to see some episodes dedicated to Satoshi and Hal Finney (we can discuss about the posts made by these legends, keeping the privacy intact). I love the idea. A segment like " Remembering Hal Finney/Satoshi"... I think that a lot of the crypto newcomers in general know very little about the people who used to write here and what contributions they made to this place in the early days. Most have heard of Satoshi, his name is a unit of bitcoin. But the new kids don't know about Gavin Andreasen or Hal Finney. Members of our community who passed away like Zepher and what made him special can also be mentioned in one of the episodes.

Interviews of veteran members, you know we had one text based interview post, have similar ones but face to face, post frequency should be one week, keeps channel active and content would not deplete either.

You're probably correct here, although I did relate public speaking to talking to a camera, they are probably very different. Depending on the person, either could be argued to be more difficult than the other. Its definitely a skill being able to talk to basically no one at the time, but at a camera.
I don't know about that; as someone who's practiced for real-life presentations by giving talks to no one but an empty classroom, it doesn't seem that difficult to me to talk about something one (presumably) has a passion for in front of a camera. Add to that the ability to edit and do retakes, and it becomes much, much easier. Anyway, we can agree to disagree on that point. Everyone is different. Interviews of veteran members, you know we had one text based interview post, have similar ones but face to face, post frequency should be one week, keeps channel active and content would not deplete either.
Yeah, I liked that thread with the interviews of all of those members from some months back. I don't know how that would work on a Youtube channel, especially with people wanting to keep their anonymity--but I'm sure there's a way to do something similar. I definitely would be interested in watching interviews with some of the better-known members here (though I don't think I'd want to be interviewed myself). I'd love to even hear some audio of members speaking if that were possible. I've always been curious as to who the human beings are behind these bitcointalk profiles.

First of all the Image you have done looks awesome ! Dont know if it was mentioned before but i would love to see also maybe some tutorials how the Forum is working , would be informative and specially for new Users maybe helpful. [...]
Thank you! A bigger, higher quality one is in the works. Guides as well, in the future. I’d toss it out there that my username is pronounced like aug-nasty not O.G. Nasty [...]
Both of your usernames were included actually! Gave @Fillippone's channel a shoutout, thanks! Also, @OgNasty, funny that I kinda said something about that, no spoilers tho! Smash that like button and hit subscribe for more content <followed by profuse gratitude expressed to subscribers> and a thumbnail with the video creator [with hands covering eyes/hands on side of face/looking confused/angry/whatever]. Over and over. I do hope the bitcointalk channel doesn't end up being molded from the same cookie-cutter pattern.
Yeah, this is definitely overused. At this point, viewers know how to use Youtube, and know how to support the creators. Thumbnails unfortunately are part of the business, you need to create something that intrigues enough for a click, and then you need to hook them within the first few seconds. The cookie cutter pattern as you put it, exists because that's whats proven to be effective. Now, I don't expect this Youtube channel to be at all cookie cutter, though. A channel about Bitcoin will definitely be more niche, and there won't be the stupid clickbait thumbnails that we've become accustomed too. Well in this case, got some good news and some bad news. In short, you're probably going to hear the word smash in one of the videos. Not actually a fan of the cookie cutter pattern as you put it and as @Welsh said is just some industry standard. However I enjoy creative twists to it, even mocking it. In a way, what I thought would be cool, is to see content about something close and dear to us in a way that you'd expect to see from a more established mainstream channel. Is it a good idea, will we pull it off or fail to make this relatable, informative and also funny? I don't know yet, it's an experiment. Format and content are in flux and in the future they might adapt and maybe expand. Will there be face reveals?
Yes. Pilot episode : First of all, for the channel to be successful, Cyrus has to wear a bikini in a swimming pool on an big banana (NSFW) This has been discussed!

I've been keeping myself from posting in this thread ever since it was created mainly because I didn't want to share ideas from time to time and really wanted to concatenate all my suggestions / what I would like to see in one clean reply from myself - here's my attempt at it (later we can judge it if was for the better or not ) My take on a bitcointalk YT Channel: I believe that it's a really nice gesture - not because crypto is exploding (or at least gets talked about in the news like a cycle) but most importantly because we, as a community, believe that it's the next step into becoming even more complete in what regards to sharing information regarding BTC but not only that, we'll be able to finally a place where we know that if we weren't able to browse that much during the week/day (don't know how the schedule will be, more on that later), we know that we can just load the video up and enjoy a good session with like minded individuals discussing many aspects of the current state of affairs. With that out of the way, here are a couple of ideas that have jumped into my mind that I believe should be brought up for discussion:
General Information (Regarding video content, content delivery schedule, etc)
I think that the channel could have two main types of content videos: - Videos geared toward education - (We've got some good threads that could be made into video format to "ease" the information to people - Example 1,Example 2, Example 3
- And, the jewel of the crowd, a PODCAST series! I'm unsure regarding the periodicity of it, it would be either weekly (52 videos) or at least monthly (12 videos). From these I prefer the latter since it gives time to setup a decent amount of information, news, development and it also eases the work of whatever team that's running this show. We could also include a video that would be like a "must see" for members that have just joined the forum and are totally clueless for where to go / what to do / what to read about it.
Content for the videos/Channel structure
We have a lot of run to grow here, namely due to how big of knowledge there is within our own forum. Some loose ideas: - Members Interview - This one would depend on how confortable the members would be to give out at least an audio interview, but I think that it would be really mind blowing to finally associate users that we see daily to their voices and, most importantly, their personality (or at least a glimpse of it). To cross that barrier that has been going on for so many years would be really interesting - and I know that whoever is running the show would ensure 100 % anonymization and privacy.
- Interviews with personalities related to the crypto scene - Wouldn't be awesome to have someone like Andreas Antonopoulos to be a guest on our show? We're not reinventing the wheel here - there are a couple of channels that already do this, but the fact that we could give our questions directly to whoever is interviewing the guest would be really great in terms of engaging with the audience (bitcointalk users).
- In memorium/Fallen Heroes- This idea is not new as I've discussed itin the past with some members, as I'm sure many have done before. I think that we could use a segment to let people know who were the unsung heroes of BTC, that helped it reach what it is today. Most people only know personalities like Musk and McAffe(RIP) whose sole purpose is to pump their investments, but they should instead be looking at the people that came before them and that for sure are way more deserving of the spotlight that these so called "personalities" receive.
- Thread(s) of the week! - Why not gather up the most talked / discussed threads of the week and let be know to the general public what were the issues that concerned the most our users? We've got terrific discussions about many subjects that I'm sure pass by most people. With this "segment" we could at least bring them up for a bit of spotlight and let the information try to reach even more people.
- Segment for the most relevant news regarding crypto/BTC - This is self explanatory : Just having a small segment where we would talk about what advancements / relevant news / breakthroughs were made in this scene. Even members could contribute by sending some news to the show's host!
- Discussion Panel - The idea behind this one is that we would have our host + 2 or more guests - from the forum - where they would talk about a specific theme related to BTC / crypto in general. We've got members here that really understand how BTC/crypto works and others that have a stance on it. I think that putting members face to face to have a mutual conversation will show our audience that we are not simply a bunch of "guys/girls" sitting behind our desks talking about foxes (pun intended ), stating "hodling" ad eternum or just defending BTC until our bones dry out - We are much more than that, and these kind of activities could help us show that to the world.
Fun ideas that could be good (or not)
- Since this is a project from the community TO the community let's make it OUR channel - Why not host a thread where users could submit their own ideas/creation for the logo of the channel or even a customized banner for it?We've got such talented artists (as we've seen in the past, why not take advantage of it?). Also why not increase it to a customized signature for anybody that wants to wear it (I know that most people wouldn't use it due to taking part in campaigns, but at least if somebody wanted to use, they would already have a signature done. After a period for entries the thread would be closed and a poll would ensue to nominate who would be the winner of logo & banner ! Hell there isn't even a need for a prize to be awarded, the user would be responsible to contribute to our YT channel - that, by itself, is already great (from my point of view).
- During the podcast section (if it is greenlight) we could host specific "contests" during the month, that could even be related to real life events - Such as "Olympic betting wars", "Who's the best bakery of bitcointalk? Post a picture of your creation and we'll see it next month" - Something into those lines.
- Make some thematic live podcasts - Where members of the forum could actually take part in real time with the active discussion and jump in with their opinions / questions.
Sustainability long term
I know that this hasn't been brought up, and perhaps the creators of it aren't really looking for funding, but I believe that at least some options could be considered. To that end, I have come up with two ideas - all related with BTC: - Accept donations from users to a certain address - This one doesn't reinvente the wheel. I was thinking of each user having it's own address to contribute to - similar to the Cooper Membership one (we could even create some sort of badge system based on the amount of donation made per user). OR, if creating a "badge system" revealed to be too much complicated due to coding / lack of staff to implement it, I would just rather create an address to accept BTC donations from.
- Accept sponsorships from services that already run their own campaigns here (like ChipMixer for example) - This one can be... not consensual. I agree that since we're going to create a channel directly related to our forum, these kind of requests/approaches will eventually appear. I'm just unsure if we really need to start "mixing" a bit of services that only use our forum to advertise or simply start saying "OK I, as bitcointalk, will start making small references to you in our channel because you pay us too". I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily but I also don't really know if it's a right decision regarding the moral aspect of it.
- MERCH! - Well...Why not right? Granted, there are thousands of merch already regarding BTC and all of that, but I think we could also host another contest to design our own graphics / memes / whatever they be. This one does involve more issues such as managing orders, finding a partner to produce the items, solve any issues upon the item being received so I would consider this one as a last resort.
Mission of the channel At the end of the day you may think that the suggestions that I've placed here are half suggestions and that they seem bland - most of these content already exists in one way or another. Thing is we don't have to care about others - we're making this channel to be OUR corner of the Internet where we could show who we truly are and what an amazing community we've got here. It's just sad that most members who register nowadays simply do it due to the "illusion" of the easy money that they will get here and totally ignore the real "treasure" of the forum and I think that this channel by embodying it's users and it's community and showing to the "Internet" what we really represent are could be a step in the right direction to start channeling more ... "real" users over here (not that we're lacking or that we've got bad ones !) Overall feeling: Really excited to see what comes out of here!

Interesting to see that something theymos envisioned around 3 years ago, may now turn into reality. Will there be some real anchor hosting the show? Or like Anonymous, it'll also use some distorted masked image or may be deep fake? Has anything been planned regarding this yet?

Also, @OgNasty, funny that I kinda said something about that, no spoilers tho! I guess I'll have to tune in to find out what was said. I hope the overall message is uplifting and about spreading positivity. It would be great to see a few of my favorite pastimes (crypto, philanthropy, & youtube) married to create some great entertaining content. I've really been enjoying Pomp's new podcast. He has some really great and informed guests on there that make the show along with his comedic approach to hosting.

Hi, as the topic can be very long, I am going to launch "capsules" of IMHO.
When YouTube was in full swing, 3-minute videos were the trend, at a certain point that changed and one started in relation to 10 minutes, due to circumstances that are not relevant, but what is really important is the time frame, it is something that starts with the script and ends with the edit.
The content may "xory" but setting the times for each topic and editing them properly is the beginning of reaching the new user segment.
Because in the reality of those of us who are in the forum, as well as we pass and log in for hours, we will have no problem supporting the channel, whatever the situation, we will surely have the positive and negative criticisms of those we are doing community, but in reality it is part of the goal.
Users who are on YouTube who make their daily lives are in a segment between 7 and 16 years old with the highest percentage and of the total number of users is between 7 and 24 years of age more or less.
Youtube is used in the Spanish-speaking region more than Facebook, that makes them see that the videos should consider having official translations and not automated ones, not only in the Spanish language but in other languages of course.
Yes! The language that we all dominate or generally understand is English, but this is essential to generate traffic to the local boards with the collateral in the main forum.
According to Alexa YouTube is ranked in position 2 and the numbers are promising to continue growing in fact more people will enter YouTube in the coming years and that leads us to a slope or crossroads, in the cold and real metrics of this site, more 70% of users who are YouTube do it with their smartphone.
And we fall back into the content they want to make; audio visual content for those of us who are in the forum or want to make content to have a successful YouTube channel.
And again the cold metrics, the people who are on YouTube want to follow on YouTube. And of course YouTube generates CRM, but since there are more than +2000 million people visiting YouTube every month, the small margin that clicks on the ads is in the millions.
The issue of advertising cannot be put aside and in video 5 or 10 an aggressive campaign should be had within YouTube to promote the channel.
Finally; I think I feel identified with most of the topics proposed by other users but if you allow me, I wanted to give an opinion from another area without a bad vibe and and with the concern of mentioning things that surely they handle but it was to give focus, in any case I put 1000 views of punishment (with pleasure) to each video that they release if I was very OT.

I've been waiting patiently for someone to run with the idea of the "Bitcoin Souvenirs" thread we had for April fools: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124304.0I thought someone would have at least taken some of the more interesting ones, and created something just for fun, as theymos gave permission if I remember correctly. IF Cyrus did ever get to the stage of merch being a viable option, I'm sure there's third party processes which would be able to automate most of it, however it would be up to the customer whether they are happy with that or not.

Indeed there are several out there - Redbubble, Shopify (after what happened with Ledger I'm fully aware that it may not be a choice) or even Merch by Amazon. Most of them only do T-shirts but I'm sure there has to be one that make more than that. I really find the idea interesting, not only due to the fact that it would generate revenue for the costs of the show, but it would also be a neat way to show our support for the forum. Again, we've got such creative people here that I'm sure we'll have some good entries for the merch.

In short, you're probably going to hear the word smash in one of the videos. Not actually a fan of the cookie cutter pattern as you put it and as @Welsh said is just some industry standard.
If phrases like "smash that like button, turn on notifications, and hit subscribe..." are an industry standard, they're a stupid one being repeated by nothing more than monkey-see, monkey-do amateurs who make their living by sucking the teat of Google and its algorithms. The bitcointalk channel will thrive or fail based on the number of people who view it because of their passion for the forum--that's my opinion. I highly doubt it's going to attract an audience outside of that (unless it becomes something other than a channel focused on the forum), so all of that standard nonsense mentioned above is unnecessary. A member like me will subscribe and will hit the like button, and you won't have to ask people to because there are many members like me who'd be looking for new videos constantly. Whatever you do, I wish you success with it and I'm very much looking forward to it.

I also agree with you, and the way that I read that phrase from Cyrus was with a "funny" wording - as in I don't really believe that each one of our videos / podcasts will end up plastered with words such "common" as the ones that were mentioned before. I was always on the assumption that if people really care about a channel or a particular content creator they will simply start following him / subcribing to his/her content without the need for him to end/begin each of his videos saying that - I don't think that anyone atm that has at least some knowledge of how YT works doesn't know about the concept of following / subscribing. On a not-so-serious note, a shout out to the most famous bicycle gang of the forum has to be made somehow Perhaps with a little fox hidden somewhere in the background during the podcast?

When talking about our forum, the main theme must also consist of rules that newbies always miss either due to not seeing them or intentionally breaking them. Rules which explain that plagiarism is not allowed here, rules which show that account farming is not a good thing and should be refrained from at any cost, rules which say that account selling is also not entertained, rules for lending, borrowing, etc.

I see where you're going, but I honestly doubt that's the kind of content people are looking for on youtube. If it's just a bunch of rules and guidelines, it's not going to be very stimulating. Make the point a few times, sure. But " main theme"? Not so much. Successful channels usually find a suitable blend between education and entertainment.

Focusing on Bitcointalk at the very start is a good idea, because you are pretty much guaranteed some sort of viewership which will aid the channel to grow into more. Although, I do see it becoming more than that, and perhaps its own thing. For example, if the channel interviewed various users from the forum, but also people that have played a significant role in Bitcoin, then they could potentially do a sort of question, and answer thread here on the forum as an extension, which might not be the primary focus of the Youtube video, but could potentially encourage any outside viewers to visit the forum, and then potentially be retained by their curiosity, and the quality of the forum.
