There's a friend about Bitcoin last 2 years who have no interest in it but I was surprised when he came to me last week to tell me what he need to know about Bitcoin. I asked him why the sudden change of heart, he told me about the testimony he hear from someone and how he would have made enough profit effortlessly.

He's still a newbie. My question is, is there a way or link for to explain Bitcoin to newbies?

Apart from the forum rules and regulations is there a thread on this forum that explains in detail the whole concept of crypto currency on this forum?

You can explain to him about:

1. First about scam and how to avoid

2. About decentralized exchanges and how kyc can lead to no privacy

3. About holding

Then about wallet, this link will be helpful about wallet: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?

If he is a beginner, you really just have to keep it simple for him.

He's still not interested in Bitcoin with that kind of reason. He just wants to make money. I don't know but you should probably save yourself from the trouble of explaining technical details or basics on the blockchain. Go straight to how to buy BTC and tell the risks of investing.

Bitcoin for beginners by Andreas Antonopoulus videos are quite easy to digest. You can find them on youtube.

I saw this thread also about crypto courses for beginners https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5236933.0

Just tell him that it's not that easy as he thinks just because someone made money from it effortlessly. He should look at how long that guy he knew has been holding bitcoin. Usually, with the sudden change of heart from these people who have ignored bitcoin before, they're actually for the profit, the quick profit! It is what they think but they never know the struggle of how long someone has been holding it and enduring all the dumps and corrections that have gone through. Always tell him if he's fine about knowing bitcoin's volatility and if he's good with that before investing.

The following sources below might be good uses for your friend to learn about bitcoin, although not the entire contents are friendly for newbies.

Let him read the sticky topics on the Beginners & Help board ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0 )  and after that, he will surely understand what is bitcoin and how it will use. Just basic information, after that, if your friend has an interest he could be able to teach himself.

Another is to explain to your friend the risk and the consequences that are possible ahead. It always has an advantage if you know how bitcoin will use and works. Because bitcoin is not just easy money to earn, you need to have patiently wait once your profit once there.

1. Explain the basics.
2. Show them the whitepaper on what Bitcoin is all about (p2p transactions without 3rd party involved)
3. Tell them about the risk (Scam, frauds, human error on losing wallet etc.)
4. Talk about adoption
5. Talk about the con's of it in terms of investment
6. Tell them about security of their assets

Just tell and stick with the basics and it wont really be that much hard for them to understand.

Depends if he prefers watching or reading, if he likes to read blogs/articles online then this forum is the perfect place for him, there's a board called "Beginners & Help" which can really be helpful for your friend, though if you want to teach him then might as well make it enthusiastic, the forum alone has lots of useful threads for beginners, outside the forum you have platforms like YouTube or Reddit that provides information about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole.

There's no need for too much technicality, just explain Bitcoin the way you want to do it or the usual way of introducing it. You don't need to spoonfeed all the information, just tell the basics or the specific questions that will be asked.

If your friend is really serious about getting involved in Bitcoin, soon his mind will be filled with knowledge automatically.

if his friend is interested in getting into the cryto world, you just need to teach him how to register the market correctly and how to make a deposit and then how to trade. so no need to force things, because it will learn on its own slowly step by step. this way you don't bother him and he

Currently, there are more and more articles that explain what Bitcoin/cryptocurrency is and various things such as its characteristics to efforts that can be made from various sources, especially here, this will find many things related to the advantages of bitcoin over its role, and it has been stated of course with many topics or discussion. Just tell your friend to read a lot here, they will definitely know which one to read and it's impossible for him to be more confused if you are familiar with this forum and explain to him.

I think its good to explain them that Bitcoin is not that easy especially if you don't have enough knowledge about it, so, much better to read and study Bitcoin first before joining cryptocurrency. Must also tell them that you can't earn this without hardwork. Tell them also about the scams and how to avoid it, since it is very important and also about decentralized exchanges and about holding. Must tell them also to be patient in everything they did. There's a lot of websites that can possibly explain those newbies about Bitcoin further, that's why they need to have research skills.

If you're expecting a detailed lesson, I'll point them to the Bitcoin Wiki site to learn, I think it's a complete bitcoin library that explains it in a simple and beginner friendly (understandable) way.

Many beginners fail to enter crypto because the teacher's mistake is to give too many references that he doesn't really want to know like, what are altcoins with hundreds of different mechanisms.

He might be hearing only good things about Bitcoin investment especially during this ATH so you must also tell him the risks of it. Some people see Bitcoin as a shortcut to success but if you'll tell him that it isn't as easy as what he thinks, he might have a proper mindset before entering it. It needs patience and courage so he better be ready emotionally and financially because Bitcoin is too volatile. Also, he needs to do his own research continuously for him to know how to deal with the market.

Tell him that if he is investing in bitcoin because he heard that someone made "profit very easily", then he shouldn't invest in bitcoin or any crypto currencies. He should know that bitcoin won't make him rich overnight. Let him know that crypto currency investments are long term investment. Since he is a newbie, he doesn't need to know how the blockchain or bitcoin works. Just show or teach him how to send/receive bitcoin, how to store it securely and some basics. That would be enough. If he is really interested in bitcoin, we will learn the rest eventually.

If your friend is an adult and understands using the internet, don't bother explaining it in detail. just explain the basics and don't explain too much about the advantages and benefits of a good bitcoin because it makes your friends too excited to do it.
I personally prefer to explain the risks and losses when involved with bitcoin because it will make him more careful and also aware of the risks and losses that must be known and studied well.
then if there is a question related to bitcoin just give an accurate and appropriate link to the question and most importantly he wants to read it well, if he is serious he will do well without you having to explain it and also arrange everything because if something goes wrong he can't blame You.
there are many ways to find out and learn what is needed about bitcoin or other crypto on the internet, you tube and so on and it all depends on his efforts.

His friend has the idea to make money effortlessly by buying BTC, I think that's all he needs to know. He just wants to buy BTC just like the new investors today without having to learn BTC. I don't think his friend is interested to learn about Bitcoin but just to earn, what he needs to learn is trading on a platform.

If I have to teach him about Bitcoin I would just say a few just to spark his interests like BTC has a ledger called blockchain and all transactions we do appears there and that Bitcoin has 21 Million supply only which is why its value is gonna grow bigger every time.  And then give him the link to bitcoin.org

Just tell him to buy Bitcoin or some other coins at least in the top 10 of the CMC ranking and then hold them for some time. Of course, there are things to avoid also like scams, hacks and phishing so one has to be careful with everything. And you can also direct him to this forum and any other good sources online. Now, am not actually surprised why the sudden change of heart of your friend as Bitcoin is now gaining momentum in the mainstream media and the population. In 2022, am seeing more popularity of Bitcoin especially if there would be another country that will adopt BTC as an official tender.

It's not the same as making money using bitcoin. If you only want to learn about bitcoin, you can simply google it or watch one of the many tutorials available on YouTube. There are a variety of ways to earn bitcoin, the most well-known of which is purchasing bitcoin and holding it for a period of time. However, this method is risky and does not guarantee that you will profit. Try trading as well, but be aware that it is still extremely dangerous.
