I expect that for the next years, gambling operators of both online casinos and brick and mortar casinos will be openly accepting Bitcoin bets. And not only that, the Lightning Network will definitely be utilized as well for a more convenient and generally smoother gambling experience.

There will definitely be future tournaments on games built on blockchain and gamblers would be able to place their bets on certain teams and players.

If you are paying by a bitcoin visa/mastercard then gaming with these funds will already be in fiat and a middleman is simply handling the conversion process for you.
That has zero novelty when it comes to innovation because it can already be done everywhere.
The real innovation will be brick and mortar providers moving online and partnering with online casinos.

If I follow your logic, then you are still playing with FIAT even if you don't use any credit card companies in the process because the players mostly care about the dollar value of their winnings.

It's probable you are correct on your prediction, because PvP games open the possibility of excluding the third parties from the competition, what means players don't have to pay taxes or fees to the platforms anymore.

On the other hand, PvP games even inside centralized casinos are still funny for many gamblers, because they can be played between friends and between competitive players who have the desire to overcome all their adversaries to reach top rankings. Both online and offline look like a booming business right now. However you'd think that, especially with the Covid situation, it has proved that many more people are able to work from home. That brings up a lot of opportunities for online businesses to capture new customers. On a different note, I expect we'll start to see a lot more electric-driven sports going on in future, which will feed into sports books. Eventually the combustion engine will be a thing of the past, it's going to be quiet eery watching E1 racing in near silence. I expect we'll also start to see more drone driven experiences, there are already competitions going on involving all kinds of drone racing and they will capture bigger audiences in future - it is a highly skilled game.

The whole idea of VR/metaverse gaming has been overhyped in my opinion.

The real innovation is going to come from mostly centralized sources and they are not going to be decentralized just because of how prohibitively high the fees are right now to make transactions on most blockchains.

I'm personally a very firm believer in Web3.0 and its ability to disrupt the casino industry.

I think that key players will either have to adapt to this new format of decentralized, immersive gaming, or face elimination from new competition.

We're already seeing live casino games take over from the traditional dice or blackjack games. On the one hand I like the way technology is developing, but on the other hand it scares me what it may eventually lead to. Many people are so caught up in the Internet that their real life has become so boring that they prefer to spend most of their free time online and frankly I think this is not the right way to develop humanity. An electronic payment system is the end game that more and more governments will now be aiming for surely. Take China as the craziest example and how quickly and massively they are setting up their payment infrastructure and what sorts of punishments they use for people who are not using Alipay or WeChat pay. In how far cryptocurrency can play a role if most governments really decided to prevent it from circulating, hard to tell.

If Casinos are "incentivized" (in whatever way) to accept one currency over another, they will most likely do so. If they get punished extremely hard for accepting cryptocurrencies, they won't do it.

the bottleneck here is that most governments have no defined taxation laws yet when it comes to crypto gambling sites. fiat system may be outdated but this traditional payment system will not go away anytime soon. a lot of gamblers are still using it. remember, crypto users are still in small percentage as compared to global population. so it would really take long time before we see the majority of gamblers that will go into crypto

I also believe that many bettors come from traditional fiat bookmakers, and cryptocurrencies are one more "hurdle" when trying to withdraw winnings from the bookmaker.
But I do believe that the trend is for cryptos to take up more and more space... I believe that the use of smart contracts and decentralized betting starts to gain more space in a short space of time.
