Don't think so, not only you are the one who is surprised by this, many people too, for me Flamengo is a team that was one of the best, I even thought that I could give Palmeiras a fight, but because of internal problems is what I imagined they fell a lot, also the technical director perhaps did not have that commanding voice to reason with the players, and that is something that affected them a lot, Flamengo had been one of the best teams in the Copa Libertadores de América, this It is something that can be noticed from any point of view, for those of us who follow the Brasileirao and for those who see it from time to time.

There were some seasons that were more intense, others not so much.

For example, if you search and see the 2019 season of the Brasileirao, Flamengo (champion) ended the season with an incredible 90 points, while the second-place team, Santos, had 74 points.
16 points separated the first place from the second place, that is an expressive number.

In the 2020/2021 season, Flamengo was champion with 71 points, in second place Internacional had 70 points and in third place, Atletico-MG with 68 points.

With these results that I reported above, I share the thought, this is relative, there were seasons that were fierce in the last moments, others not so much
