The new rules will apply to cases of death officially certified by a death certificate, effective from September 1, 2025. For family members of deceased service members whose deaths were certified before this date, the procedure and payment terms remain unchanged.
According to the amendments to the relevant orders:
the total amount of the OFA [One-time Financial Assistance] remains unchanged at UAH 15 million;
Before bodies are returned and identified dead soldiers are just considered MIA missing in action.
UAH 15 million is about 300.000€ so that's almost a third of a billion EU needs to send to Ukraine, just for that one exchange!
Plus 1000:41 already doesn't look good for morale or made up numbers of dead that they claim
