I am maybe biased since I am Croatian, but I don't really think that was a penalty. Alvarez ran into Livakovic, there was nothing he could do really. But I agree that goal shook us way more than it should have as up until then Argentina didn't create nothing really.

All in all, Argentina was better (and smarter) team tonight, no question about it. You can only reach so far without a quality striker, so far us even semifinal is a success. I just hope our team can recover from this loss (Modric was extremely disappointed) and prepate for Saturday and game for the 3rd spot so we can at least repeat the success from 1998.

I believe Morocco will take a lesson from what happened to Croatia today.
So basically Argentina let Croatia play in the first 15-20 minutes then it surprised it with a goal then came the second one to destroy Croatia hope, then the third one to end the Croatian dream prematurely.
Morocco will play more defensively and count on counter attack. The problem they have is the presence of Mbappe. They should find a way to stop him and France power will be reduced considerably.
Overall, I am counting on France - Argentina final unless Morocco could lead France to play penalties.

Croatia got a stalemate on the front lines. although they control the midfield well they are not good enough up front with poor finishing.

I wouldn’t exactly use the word slaughter but yes, I also can’t wait to watch the match between France and Morocco. It would be a very tough game as the Moroccans aren’t a walk over as we’ve seen with their recent games. Though, France is a more better team on paper. France is seen as the likely candidate to win and they’ve got the players as well as the techniques to pull off a win. France is favored to win the World Cup again but would face a worthy contender for the cup, Argentina.

Messi and Alvarez are quite dangerous for Argentina's front line. Both of them can run fast, making it difficult for Croatian defenders to stop their attacks.

Croatia played well when Argentina haven't scored their first goal, immediately Messi scored the first goal through penalty croatia performance changed and they started playing with pressure to equalize the game. He didn't run into him, he actually stopped just before Alvarez reached him. Anyway, I don't think it would have been the same decision if it wasn't Argentina on the other side.

Regarding players not protesting, I don't know how you missed bunch of our players complaining to the referee and Kovacic even got yellow card because of that.

As I said before, they were better side and our team didn't show much this game but before that penalty they did nothing and if it weren't for that it would have been much closer game.

I am very happy to see Argentina in the final round which just proofed who the Goat his. I am very happy for getting into the final round why Ronaldo his unable to qualify or take his team to the final round. It is not as easy as we think scaling through the final round without been defeated.

It's true that this should be used as a reference because regardless of anything, even if their current performance has exceeded expectations, they still have to try harder and I feel that the steps taken by Morocco should not follow what Croatia did.
They were overly optimistic by taking the initiative from the start so of course this wasn't great even if Argentina were more restrained.
On the other hand, don't let Morocco do the same scheme tomorrow, especially since we know that France's style of play is always fast, especially on both sides. Don't let them get carried away with the rhythm and have to stay disciplined so they have a little chance.

Argentina really did very well in this match. Their first goal through a penalty kick really burned up their spirit to make more goals and win the match. Their first goal really made all players become more confident during the match. Messi was really able to realize it to his whole team players. And, Alvarez was awesome by making 2 goals. All players in all lineups did solid and strong performances. Probably, Argentina has less ball possession, but the way they executed their attack was very effective and accurate. We can see also how many saves were made by their defenders and also their goalkeeper during the match. Martinez always becomes a very strong and consistent goalkeeper. Although he is not the best goalkeeper in the world, although he may be not as good as in the club, during the World Cup, he could really optimize his power.

I believe Morocco will take a lesson from what happened to Croatia today.

Morocco will exactly face a very difficult opponent this time, against France. The pressure is higher, France is the defending champion of the World CUp. We also know how many very talented players of France has. Most of the players in all lines are great players. It will not be easy and will be very tough for Morocco. However, as long as they are able to manage and optimize every chance, as usual, I am sure they can do their best, regardless of the result of the match, I support everything.

Alvarez is having a very good performance during the match against croatia. I meant look at how fast alvarez to did counter attack against croatia. It seems like that alvarez will be considered as a potential player by another club but that's very sad to say that he was loosing to compete with haaland in the city. that makes him to become haaland's back up. I hope that alvarez will consider move to the new club. That will be far better to him to get more minutes to play in the main squad rather than competing in the city with haaland as he has no chance against haaland. Alvarez's potential can be seen from this match. Im really happy to see that he was making two goals against croatia.

The goalkeeper didn't have any contact with ball before he knockdown the argentine player which mean that it was a clear penalty. It would have been a big blunder on the side of the referee if he had failed to give that penalty.

But I think the Croatians defended very badly in that match. After the first goal they became desperate to level up but failed to coverup for a potential Argentina counter attack. The second goal came because of this defensive lapses. The third goal was a result of Messi football prowess. He singlehandedly created that goal scoring opportunity.

My heart goes to the hard-fighting Croatian side. They have suffered so much heartbreak from the world cup because they have always been close to the trophy but never had the opportunity to win it. Its time for Luka Modrić to retire as a hero because he has contributed immensely to the development of his country's football.

Alvarez was almost certainly going to score, and the fact that the GK obstructed his movement after he flicked the ball past him is a foul. I don't blame the goalkeeper; he did what anyone could have done. I'm not sure Croatia had more than two shots on goal prior to that goal, they were already looking lost prior to that goal, and I'm not sure the goal had much of an impact on the game. Croatia's defense was not strong enough today, and they were fortunate to concede only three goals.

Kovasic overrated and im sure he said some funny thing to the ref.

They did nothing for 15 minutes, Croatia's dominance lasted less than 20 minutes; I guess their plan was to score early and then sit back, but it didn't work. About the magical thing of soccer I was talking about Japan vs Croatia, not the Argentina's match.
In my opinion Japan played better and deserved the classification more than Croatia.

Japan was more enthusiastic, they classified in 1st place in a group where Germany and Spain were the huge favorites. Japan was looking for victory, but as I said, soccer things.
How can you explain a team like Brazil losing the classification to Croatia?

The coach Zlatko Dalić did a pretty good job with the team available, maybe 1 young player and 1 good atacker could lead Croatia to finals.

Argentina won the game against Croatia for very strong and evident reasons: First, they have Lionel Messi who is simply brilliant, an undisputed leader and who puts on a show in every match; Julián Álvarez, the great revelation of Argentine football who is still a "newbie" but who plays like a veteran; Enzo Fernández, who is capable of carrying out quite difficult missions, and one of them was to stop Luka Modric who is 16 years older than him.

And last, there is the wise choice of coach Lionel Scaloni, who has the talent to change the team according to his opponents and adversity in each match.
Scaloni had tested three different tactical formations and today he opted for something more "conservative", with the addition of another midfielder: instead of returning with Di María on the left wing, he used Rodrigo Paredes and, with that, neutralized the strongest sector from Croatia.
