Its not a surprise for me to see Morocco also lost the match for 3rd place in World Cup. They clearly outperformed their rivals until they lost to France. That sort of lifted magic around them and made them vulnerable team probably with a hit to their mentality, motivation and so on. I also congratulate Croatia, because they are sort of small nation (talking about their population) but they became football country indeed in last 10 years building one of greatest teams of Europe.

Yeah, we are a very small nation of three million people. And not only that. An interesting fact is that Croatia qualified for the six World Cups in it's history. On three of them they passed the group stage and all three times they managed to pass the group stage they won a medal (two bronze and one silver medal). And I really think that Gvardiol needs to be the best young player and the best defender of this World Cup. OK, maybe the best defender title can wait for a few more years, but he has to be given the best young player award!

I'm not sure he would be considered for the overall best defender of the tournament, as there are a few defenders who are slightly ahead of him, despite him being outstanding for someone of his age and being one of the hottest defenders in Europe. He had a good world cup run and could be in contention for the young best defender or the young best player award.


I believe Chelsea and Leipzig verbally agreed that the transfer will take place after the current campaign. He'll blend in well with the EPL.

Yeah, too bad it's coming to an end. It was really a pleasure to watch all the games. Especially wince the host nation was relatively close to my country (only 2 hours time difference). The next one will be hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico and that won't be easy to watch since a lot of games will be played at night in my country.

well it's a pity that the excitement of the world cup will end soon and will be closed with the final match between Argentina vs France. you are very lucky to only have a difference of 2 hours. I only watched the Croatia vs Morocco match in the first round. because then I fell asleep accidentally because I was so exhausted after work. and when I woke up the match was over. The Morocco team tried but I did not see the same energy they put up in other games which turned out well for them before losing in the semifinals against France, it may not have affected their mentality but I think the players were actually not feet because they played like a team that didn't take the match seriously and the Croatian players being a team with much experience and discipline in the history of this tournament outshine them with a shocking defeat. The Croatian team has maintained consistency and they keep making history even with their small population who knows if they will end up lifting the world cup trophy someday with this level of experience within the team, big congratulations to the Croatian team.

Morocco didn't have as many goal attempts as their opponent maybe but they still managed to keep the score at the level they would like. They were really quick about an answer to Gvardiol's goal.

However Orsic's marvelous goal to the right corner sealed the deal for Croatia. I think both of these teams deserve appreciations because of their big efforts so far. Especially Morocco have become the first team reaching the semi finals in Africa continent for the first time.

Morocco has achieved a nice 4th place, but there could have been more. Yet they also had some moments of luck, against Spain they were actually very close to elimination several times. That also applied to Croatia against Brazil, of course. The Croats were still very happy with the 3rd place, which they also achieved at the 1998 World Cup when Davor Suker was still a striker with this team. And Prosinecki, you also had a very strong team that played a part then. The Netherlands has shown little together with Belgium. Germany played very well at times and gave away the entire World Cup in 10 minutes against Japan.

Morocco should really be congratulated. They have shown great performance despite being the smallest team in the World Cup. The performance they have shown has failed to show many big teams. Hopefully Morocco will play a few more World Cups and move to a much better place.

Modric still has a lot to offer the Croatian team, he is always fit and ready to give his best for his country, his last world cup most likely but not his last dance with the National team. Modric is a maestro in their midfield and a life wire for them, to find another player in Croatia that will fill the void he will leave if he retires now will not be easy. He doesn't even play like he is 37 and should be retiring soon. Croatians will be happy hearing this knowing how important he has been helping them still get medals in competitions.

Morocco were the only team this world cup that didn't conceded any goal till the semi-finals. They had pretty much strong defence until Saiss was there and once he was sidelined due to injury they started conceding. Morocco put up a great fight throughout the World Cup and really hoped they had something sweet in the end in return. Anyway they made us a fun tournament for us to watch.

Based on the available information from the bookmakers, a draw would be the most logical result after 90 minutes of football. And then you can even think of a result like 0-0, but 1-1 is more obvious. In any case, probably a game in which both teams will start quietly and first see how it all stands. Croatia are one of the best country with good football performance. It's really a tough time for them as they fought for their place in the world but couldn't secure their position in the finals. They were in the finals in 2018 world cup and they did their best to reach the semi-finals now they sealed their third place position from Morocco. The difference in strategy in the semifinals and final actually made their results different.
Just try if they do defend and play a little safer maybe the results will be different.
But this can be a good lesson for them, especially now that this can be said to be the best achievement for Morocco and its players.
